Huddersfield Town (HTAFC) is embarking on a ‘seven-figure’ brand refresh and campaign masterminded by Fantastic Media as it sets its sights on a return to the Premier League.
Leeds-based Fantastic has partnered with the club’s new American owners to rejuvenate Huddersfield Town’s identity and cultivate a renewed sense of community and success. The club has ambitious objectives to rediscover its passion, inspire pride and return to the topflight of English football.
HTAFC’s vision extends beyond the football club, aiming to back the entire town of Huddersfield, promoting a mentality of success and limitless thinking.
An evolved brand identity has been created by Fantastic Media, underpinned by the campaign ‘Everything Together’. Inspired by a fan survey involving over 350 participants and featuring a seven-figure investment to engage both existing and lapsed fans and wider stakeholders, the campaign is built on the messaging that everyone is an important voice in the success of the club; a journey backed by an unwavering pursuit of togetherness and pride.
The campaign aims to emphasise Huddersfield Town’s resilient spirit and determination and shake off the lack of confidence and ‘underdog’ mentality resulting from the succession of owners and managers over the past decade.
The ‘Everything Together’ launch campaign will feature extensive out of home advertising including national press ads, 48-sheet billboards, digital screens, lamp post banners and building takeovers to be rolled out ahead of the season start and the club’s first League home fixture on August 17.
Other activations include:
Stadium Refurbishment and Rebranding: a seven-figure overhaul of the stadium, including stands, bars, concourses, hospitality areas, player changing rooms, club shop, merchandise, reception and office spaces. Training complex upgrade: the Canalside training complex has undergone comprehensive refurbishment to provide first class facilities for the players and coaching staff. Academy enhancement: The Huddersfield Town Academy has been upgraded to Category Three status, seven years after its downgrade. From the 2024/25 season, the Academy will nurture young football talent from the age of eight, aiming to produce future homegrown stars. Fantastic Media CEO Andy Hobson said: “Huddersfield has a rich vein of history built on the ambitions of the bold, the brave, the challengers and the disruptors. HTAFC is backing the entire town to succeed and turn it back into the Northern Powerhouse it once was. The catalyst for change starts with this campaign and the club’s multi-million £ investment.”
HTAFC’s Jake Edwards added: “As Huddersfield Town prepares for its first fixture of the season, the collaborative efforts of Fantastic Media and my team promise to herald a new chapter of limitless potential and community pride for the club and the town.
“The continuous recent changes of ownership and management in the club have diluted its identity and resulted in it losing its way. Our fan base is diverse, our audience has the potential to be global and, importantly, our reach and influence goes well beyond the field of play.
“As such, we must think and act like the club we want to be in every interaction. It’s time to come together and embrace the strengths we have as a team. From our players to the stadium’s employees, we need to promote every positive aspect of our town through the HTAFC brand and align it with our ambitious plans and a refreshed identity. I wholeheartedly believe there is no reason we won’t be back in the premier league. There is no ceiling to our success anymore.”
The new identity has already been presented by Hobson to the club’s employees and players who have embraced it with enthusiasm and positivity, with one member of staff commenting that it has “created a sense of ownership, improved morale, and aided recruitment.”
Fantastic Media previously worked with Huddersfield Town from 2015 to 2017, creating the ‘No Limits Terrier Spirit’ campaign when the club was promoted into the Premier League.

Sorted Rotherham tickets today. As I was going down Leeds Road decided to call in person. Id already seen the flags etc down Leeds Road but was really impressed with how clean the stadium looked. Whether you call them murals or graffiti I think the stuff around the stadium is excellent. Sense of pride but also very intimidated t0 away teams and their fans. Lets have more.

It's about time we dropped the "little old Huddersfield" bollocks. It was embarrassing.

Noticed that the refreshments kiosks were really quick and efficient on Tuesday night, and the staff even smiled...
No idea if that's a sign of improvement though, or if it's always been a bit better in the Riverside compared to the Kilner.

Wonder if they can go as far as getting potholes filled around the stadium and sprucing up the bogs ? I can live with the general state of the bogs, it's the idiots using em. If you desperately need a shit, it's a 1 in 5 chance you're cleaning some 12 toothed freak's piss off the seat first 😆

Wonder if they can go as far as getting potholes filled around the stadium and sprucing up the bogs ? The walk from Town to the top of gasworks is greatly improved now but the rest is still pretty hazardous with potholes, loose kerbs & a dire surface from St Andrews to car parks......If KN is to finalise the stadium takeover then he needs to knock some off for resurfacing, because KMC will never do it.

Pity fantastic media can't fix the sound system which has been cringingly embarrassing for years.
The identity rebranding is good though, and at last the underdogs tag is gone (until we get back to the premier league).
If Brighton can do it, from where they came from, so can we.

I didn't agree with the underdog identity in the championship. We're now a big fish in league one. No team in this division has the history or trophy cabinet we do, we're also the most recent team to play in the premier league out of our divisional rivals.

Was going to suggest Bolton as a contender abd was surprised to find they've never won the league, just 3 FA cup wins.

It still doesn't match our 3 league titles and FA cup though.

I'd say they were considered nearly equivalent in stature up until the PL, but 3 league wins and a cup trumps their record. They beat our record attendance by 1500, though Charlton have the divisions highest with 75000

It’s almost like a Viz top tip: avoid the underdog tag by simply getting relegated. Of course, the underdog bollocks has gone. We’re in the third division and most sadly seem to think that’s our level and anything above is punching.

The underdog identity was a double edged sword. Fine when we were looking to achieve something not done for nearly 50 years but then used as an excuse/acceptance we couldn't expect better.
The current mindset is more realistic about who we are ie not entitled but also confident in our aims.
That's very welcome.
