Torrid torrid performance. But this squad will piss league. Absolute shit show end to the transfer window. Serious investment needed up top and at the back.

A couple of observations, I thought that defensively we looked more solid after Pearson came on. It's difficult to dominate teams when only 2 midfielders are anywhere near playing to their potential. The 3 central midfielders where at best average and at worst wasteful with the ball. Definitely a game to be thankful for 3 points and plenty to work on for the future

Some won’t like it but Hogg is the main problem

Hogg has been the main problem for YEARS. Similarly with the ST situation. 🙈 investment needed, hopefully this was a major kick up their arse

I think Spencer was terrible, so risk averse. I haven’t liked Hogg for years and today is the kind of reason why. Danny ward is actually ok if you look at him purely as a support striker who does the hard work. Still need a big man up front, and a left footer in both defence and midfield.

3 points and a clean sheet. Job done!
Spencer needs to play at RCB, we have no balance on the LCB and he’s an accident waiting to happen. Pearson makes playing football hard work every time he has the ball.
Evans and wiles anonymous
Ward 🙈
Koroma is our most dangerous striker ATM, healey looks like he’s lacking confidence but if he stays fit he will definitely score goals. Marshall and nicholls miller all did well in what was a poor performance.
Duff will be far from happy with what he witnessed today.
At least 2 more in before the window shuts for me.

Some won’t like it but Hogg is the main problem Can't wait to see the match replay, but from Radio Leeds it sounded like he didn't have his best game. But... neither did Evans or Spencer, but they will not receive the same criticism.

It was a disjointed performance, but three points is three points.
We started well as we usually do, but eased up halfway through the first half and into the start of the second. But I thought the introduction of Healey, Koroma and Kasumu tilted things firmly back in our favour. Shrewsbury didn't really get a sniff offensively after that, even if we didn't look particularly composed. So I think Duff earns some credit there.
Most of our issues were self inflected, getting caught with some unnecessarily poor defensive passing derived from a lack of midfield options. I also thought offensively we were sloppy, again with some very casual passing. Had we been a bit sharper it could easily have been 2/3-0 and it's game over.
No lack of effort from the players though, and I think with some better decision making we'll have a good season.

A win is a win perfect, but Jesus that was bad can’t do with Hogg playing again against teams like this, Spencer woeful again he isn’t a left sided cb and lees is too slow, healey didn’t look fit, we need 2-3 signings before the window close if we want to be challenging for top 2

You need to match the comment with the poster. Irony can be subtle or not. In defence of our defence, apart from a contentious penalty we would be looking at 4 cleansheets. Not to be sniffed at.

Kasuma did enough to start next game. We need a striker (Luton’s Joe Taylor?). Miller is again the best player on the pitch. And Spencer being injured might be good for the team and player.

A wins a win,a lot of lessons to be learned watching the game back as a group, 4 wins out of 4 at the end of the day, regardless of the opposition.

We set up today like we did under Moore. The three centre midfielders were too far apart to create any cohesion or provide passing options. Two of which were far too high up and needed to come shorter (not their fault, this will have been how they’re expected to play). Very reminiscent of our 3-5-2 shape under Moore, difference being we were playing a dreadful team who couldn’t exploit us more.

He’s got no left foot and doesn’t look up, it’s like Hogg last season. You can’t play a game with players who are so slow in thought.

It sounded pretty bad on the radio.
I watched QPR v Plymouth on the telly. My God we can’t go up with our current squad, the speed in the first half was bewildering. We’ll be marmalised !
Serious investment required Mr Nagle, sooner the better.

A win is a win. We can't perform like that week in week out though. A team with a bit more quality would have capitalised on how poor we were today.

We need a more progressive DM to break down teams, there’s absolutely zero advantage playing Hogg against teams like Stevenage and Shrewsbury Sorry but in my opinion that's a lazy comment based on the past. Today was undoubtedly being slowed down by the centre halves - partly from poor play and partly from a lack of options in midfield. I understand people saying he's not creative enough on the ball in general - I'd counter that by saying his defensive ability outweights this and there ate 2 more creative mids in there - but to say that he was the one slowing it down today is just wrong in my view.

Funny how many on here slate Hogg and want him out of the team yet every manager we've had whilst he's been at Town have picked Hogg on a regular basis. Who knows best?
