The north wind Duff blow and we shall have snow this winter whilst the forecast says May will be glorious in Birmingham.

In all honesty, I’ve lost a lot of interest since we were relegated. Doesn’t look like we’re giving it our best shot for an instant return to the Championship either and there’s still that malaise hanging over the club which goes back a few seasons.

All the miserable buggers who have been as quiet as a mouse since the season started, have suddenly started posting again 🤔

I really get the cynicism, I really do but, to stick with the theme, 3 weeks ago it looked like we were about step back into the sun. Last night was incredibly disappointing if only as the performances of the last few years had returned.
I have said consistently we need to really assess where we are in around another 5 weeks, and I will personally stick to that, but given there is still an ill wind blowing around the club what is really going to give people a real sense of change?
The obvious answer is performances on the pitch but we have played 4, won 3. The owner has spent heavily on a stadium he doesn't own, yet, and was also prepared to sanction a good fee for a player from one of our rivals. Is the concern the commitment to being better (across the club) or the delivery? Personally it is hard to question the commitment, I don't see any underhand reason for Mr Nagle being here, so the issue has to be the delivery. Mr Nagle has said that the aim is to, ultimately (with no time frame now mentioned after relegation), return to the Premier League. It is therefore that he will be judged on.
For me though I have had enough of the negative, and it is just me. I think I accept that the job to turn the Town tanker round maybe more significant than any of us actually realises. Last night was possibly evidence of this. As such I think I am realistic enough to accept more time will be required. That said if Mr Nagle and his chosen deputies don't make significant progress this season the entire Nagle project will be under pressure. My main hope is Michael Duff and his ambition. If he isn't successful, or walks (which I am not at all suggesting will happen), then the cynicism I refer to will be entirely well placed.
Of course another few good results and last night might be a mere blip. I am not sure what DATM was like the day after that night in Shrewsbury in 2016 but I bet there were a few who weren't convinced.
I'll sit back and see what the next month or so bring us on the pitch. Off the pitch I hope for the continuation of positive messages and actions.

Think what we have seen from our relegation from the premier league and then recent relegation from the championship.
The players unfortunately become damaged and when the pressure is on they default to their negative ways which is inbuilt from 5-6 months of losing.
These bad habits become default.
It’s expensive but ultimately 75% of the starting 11 needs to be replaced to under take the “hard reset” which is talked about in Duff, Morris etc interviews.
Assume we look to do that over a number of seasons but the goal of reset and bouncing back becomes more challenging

The sun's been out for a few weeks now but last night's shower has triggered a deluge of global warming protests. The world's gonna end.

Doesn’t look like we’re giving it our best shot for an instant return to the Championship either and there’s still that malaise hanging over the club which goes back a few seasons. Unfortunately it won't take much for the feel good factor to vanish. Being soundly beaten by Walsall was a sobering experience and one which confirmed something we'd probably all feared. Namely that we've had an easy start bar Peterborough and the squad building required for promotion is only half complete with two days left. Transfer net spend of minus 4 million and key areas not strengthened yet again. Also injuries to key players already! Just bad luck?? Seems unlikely but even if it is it just highlights the lack of depth in key areas. Really impressed with Duff so far but the last few performances have been concerning. The good teams in this league would beat us on that showing.

The obvious answer is performances on the pitch but we have played 4, won 3. I'm with you - it feels like we're on the right track, BUT, performances have not really been at the level needed if we're going to get promoted, we've played perhaps 4 good halves in 5 games, we can't continue to get away with that like we have done aside from last night. I suspect the next couple of games, and then the two or three after the break will tell us more than the 5 so far...there must be players who up until now have been playing the last few weeks with real uncertainty about which game they'll be at on Saturday, that's bound to affect standards. That uncertainty will be gone when we face Rotherham.

I really get the cynicism, I really do but, to stick with the theme, 3 weeks ago it looked like we were about step back into the sun. Last night was incredibly disappointing if only as the performances of the last few years had returned. Some other performances were well short in spite of the results. I have said consistently we need to really assess where we are in around another 5 weeks, and I will personally stick to that, but given there is still an ill wind blowing around the club what is really going to give people a real sense of change? The obvious answer is performances on the pitch but we have played 4, won 3 But the performances were not that good. Mr Nagle has said that the aim is to, ultimately (with no time frame now mentioned after relegation), return to the Premier League. It is therefore that he will be judged on. I haven't seen any suggestions of underhand reasons of why he is here, I would guess at understanding what his team is telling him and comparing this against what he has been told by others? For me though I have had enough of the negative, and it is just me. I think I accept that the job to turn the Town tanker round maybe more significant than any of us actually realises certainly by most Town fans that always look on the bright side. Last night was possibly evidence of this. As such I think I am realistic enough to accept more time will be required. Watched bits of all the games via a stream and Peterborough away aside, I haven’t seen much difference to last season.

All the miserable buggers who have been as quiet as a mouse since the season started, have suddenly started posting again 🤔 I’ve been in the doldrums since Warnock was shown the door and let’s be honest, it’s being pretty much all downhill since then. Carried on posting but there’s not much to be too positive about. Paint job at the stadium has been great and I don’t think for one second we’ll slide again but that aside?

We lost a carabou cup tie playing half the game with ten men, against a team who have had a decent start in their own division, far from great last but jesus fkn christ.

It's a shame we didn't make the next round with the big clubs entering now, but that aside I don't think it's so much the result but the performance, which follows on from our previous two games where we scraped victories by 1 goal against on paper two of the worst teams in the league. We are definitely short in some areas if we're gonna stay on course for automatic promotion.

Its not the fact we got beat its the manner in which we imploded, being down to ten men doesn't mean several players who constantly give the ball away because we have a man short or passes going completely astray. It was a tough draw to start with but even at ten men 2-0 we should have won.
