Why is the manager not doing press conferences all of a sudden? Hopefully due to focussing on the proper football games that actually matter....plus he is likely not in Town, will be down south with family Unless he's been given dispensation by the club, which I think the chances are minimal to zero, do you think that's likely? Touchline ban or no touchline ban. It's still a 1st team game and MD is contracted to take charge of first team games. The mind boggles as to what some Town fans think actually goes on at ghe club or do you mean he'll be back for the game tomorrow?

I believe it's a minimum of 4 qualifying outfield players that have to be in the starting 11.
To be a qualifying outfield player you have to have met one of the of the following:
Any player who started the previous first team fixture
Any player with 40 more more first team appearances
Any player on Loan from the PL or Cat 1 academy
So Scott High could and probably should come into contention.
You'd think they'll start Hodge & Lonwijk if only for 60 mins to help with Match Fitness
Turton & Ruffles probably need the minutes.
If he's not suspended then Ward will likely play.
So I'd look to go something like (I've put a * next to the qualifying players).
Maxwell
Turton* Lonwijk* O'Reilly
Mriso Ruffles*
High* Iorpenda Hodge
Ward* (If available) Falls or Abbot
Subs Maxwell Pearson Ayina Ashia Isaac Daley If Ward plays then Falls or Abbot. If Ward doesn't play and both Falls & Abbott start, then Schofield on the bench.

This is getting confusing. Ward can play because red cards don’t count towards trophy games but Duff isn’t going to be in charge because he got a red card. Does anyone know the correct take on this?

Might have to put Evans or Wiles into the Midfield then

I would actually go quite strong for this, there is a break after and i would focus on increasing competency between certain partnerships. Not too fussed for the win, but getting Lonwijk playing with Miller and even working on Lees and Sorensens links should be beneficial

This is getting confusing. Ward can play because red cards don’t count towards trophy games but Duff isn’t going to be in charge because he got a red card. Does anyone know the correct take on this? Players: EFL Trophy: Unless specified by The Association: (a) If the sending-off offence occurs in an EFL Trophy Match, the relevant automatic suspension must be served exclusively in the EFL Trophy and (b) if the sending-off offence occurs in any other First Team Competitive Match, an EFL Trophy Match cannot be used to serve any part of the relevant automatic suspension. 'Technical Area Occupants': The regulations just list every competition that the suspension can be applied to which includes league and cups. So essesntially it's correct that Duff will be on a touchline ban, but Ward won't be suspended. Probably designed to stop players on 4 yellow cards for the season purposely getting another yellow just before an EFL trophy match so the suspension falls on a tinpot cup game and not a league game. Edit - Martin Paterson has just said he believes Duff is available to be on the touchline tomorrow so who knows

Sounds from the press conference like it will be Ward and one of the youngsters in attack.

Paterson has just confirmed that ward is available and duff will take the team.No mention of Pearson but presume the same applies to him.

Always like these competitions to be used to have a better look at the young prospects and see if any can surprise us and make the step up sooner than expected.
However, we need to be well drilled and settled as a team, you only get that by playing the players that need to perform regularly.
But seeing as we don't want more injuries...

Also don’t see it as been a big shock tbh, depending on the strength of side we put out.

I think some pretended to be shocked but we have been able to be shit at the drop of a hat for a couple of seasons now. If Donny dont take it too seriously it might be close or even a decent match???

Flatlined at Walsall then became totally, unbearably loud on Saturday.. I know they have to talk down the 'blip' so we have to assume they are dealing with it?? Having less and less to use to deal with it is a long, long standing 'blip'🤔

If I am following the rules etc. This would be how I'd set up. A chances for some to find form and some to try and impress. With an international break, don't see some of the 'keu'players shouldn't feature. There is a risk of injury in training just as much a game.

Anybody got any suggestions on parking for this game? Not been to this Donny ground before 1000 spaces at ground, £6 on day or £5 in advance at @yourparkingspace.co.uk......Check out the grub if you get chance, a few pics on 'footyscran' shows some tasty looking fodder on offer at Donny.
