Did well for Ipswich when they were promoted, hopefully still plenty to offer 👏

I don't trust the source, but I don't share the aversion some people have to taking on free agents. A short term contract looks to be a good idea for all concerned - with the option to renew/extend should both parties be willing to do so.
We need a striker. To me, that's inarguable. We have 5, but JK is the only one you'd trust to be fit enough to play 90 minutes on a regular basis and - for all that he's playing really well now, consistency is something he struggles with.
Of course, we could do more business in January, but that's notoriously a difficult time as clubs whack their prices up. And, what if we fail in Jan? What if we're too far adrift to catch up by then?

FREDDIE LADAPO'S LEAGUE GOALS 2022/23
Ladapo is known for his athleticism and goal scoring ability. Upon signing for Ipswich Town in May 2022, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna said of Ladapo; "Freddie has a good physical stature, the ability to run beyond the defence, and is good in one-on-one situations.

I'd say a low risk signing - in his last 4 full L1 seasons he's consistently been in double figures - if he does a job great, if he doesn't (as long as we've learned about stupid contracts) then we go and get Taylor in January.

Watched his goals on the above video. He looks and scores goals like a proper centre forward! Should make a good front two with Marshall!

67 goals in league one, averaging a goal every 187 minutes played.
For a bit of context, Alfie May has 77 goals in league one, averaging a goal every 181 minutes played.

Decent signing, it is not just about him scoring goals, it's about him helping the rest of the team to score more goals.

So basically he has a similar goal scoring record as Alfie May. Fit. And been promoted from L1 three times. Thats good enough for me.

Seems a great signing to me As put on the other thread similar goal scoring record as Alfie May. Obviously he has come through the divisions with Ipswich and realises he aint going to get much of a look in in the PL so might as well leave and get a 2 year contract at a club where his previous experiences at this level have gone well.

Good signing on paper. Let's get behind the lad, as we really need this one to work out.

Were we the only club trying to sign him? Just seems strange that he ended up as a free agent and not signed on with anyone prior to the transfer deadline!!!
I hope I’m not the killjoy.

So basically he has a similar goal scoring record as Alfie May. Fit. And been promoted from L1 three times. Thats good enough for me. Say what? Quick google shows Freddie with 0.53 goals per 90 minutes (pretty decent) and Alfie May with 1.08 goals per 90 minutes (very decent). That's from Footystats, no idea if it's accurate or not but why publish if not. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted we've signed him and am as sick of all the negative shit that's getting posted on here (2 years, do we not learn anything?, probably be injured by 1st October etc etc is tedious to say the least) lately as you probably are but there doesn't seem much of a comparison between the 2 to be fair.

Exactly.....should be a great fit on paper and gives much more competition to the front line when all the lads are (if ever!) fit......
