Just letting everyone know that the Admins have made a minor modification to the rules regarding yellow cards. This change was instigated as a result of member feedback, where it was perceived that longstanding members were being unfairly punished for offences committed many years ago. In summary, yellow cards will only count for 24 months and then they will be effectively spent. Just like points on your licence. We will also try to use the personal warning system more, to reduce the number of yellows issued in the first instance. Here is the new section of the rules:
"We operate a yellow and red card disciplinary system. The consequences for receiving a yellow card are summarised below. Yellow cards now have a rolling 24 month life. Yellow cards older than two years are considered spent and will no longer be considered in determining a length of ban. In addition to the yellow and red cards, the Admins also have the ability to issue personal warnings. These warnings are designed to avoid the issue of a yellow card.
If you commit a major offence, you will receive a straight red card - resulting in a suspension of one calendar month. Card Suspension 1st Yellow 1 week suspension 2nd Yellow 2 week suspension 3rd Yellow 1 month suspension 4th Yellow 3 month suspension 5th yellow 6 month suspension Any subsequent card 6 month suspension Red card 1 month suspension

Will this be applied retrospectively or just going forward? retrospectively applied. If you have a yellow older than 2 years, you can consider it spent.

Imagine getting subbed off for 6 month, for 5 minor yellows when you could have absolutely gone to town, got a red and be back in a month…noted for future reference 😀

I believe there is an old VHS camcorder in the Buxton Lounge. Batteries might need changing though

Would be good if yellows were put on your profile.
Just so that I can tell exactly when I can call someone a card again and to also see who I can try and get sent off.

Maybe, Duff is a berk or a knob cheese. Or Nagle is a flange fart or a dipstick. Cartwright is a twat. Actually, Cartwright is a twat.

The second ban draws the cruel and unusual punishment of being forced to watch, whilst fully sober, the Swansea home game from last season. Its against the Geneva convention but those lads in admin dont care...😡

I was under the impression that it was an accumulation of yellows that lead to a suspension, not a week off for a first offence and so forth as listed above? Surely serial offenders will deservedly fuck themselves up and be dealt with accordingly, but calling someone something as innocuous as a knob and being reported by an over-sensitive wet wipe shouldn’t result in a week off? I’m not advocating a free-for-all, but let’s not pretend this place is being broadcast on CBeebies either.

I’m not advocating a free-for-all, but let’s not pretend this place is being broadcast on CBeebies either. Fair challenge, but we generally take the insult in the context of it being thrown. On many an occasion we have not felt some low level insults such as 'knob' have been worthy of punishment, and then the other occasions it has been a PM. This is where we want to try and utilise the PM method more often - to avoid having to issue yellow cards. We have seen (what feels like) a large reduction in cards being issued and hopefully this change will see that drop further. The change is based on feedback received and not something we have pulled out of thin air. As with anything, we hope it has a positive effect but clearly if it doesn't we will need to review. The vast majority of posters on here should feel the benefit either by having old cards retrospectively cleared, or by simply being PM'd if they post something that crosses a line. It's only the serial offenders and WUM's that should feel the brunt of this change.

Can we also have a commitment from the admin team that all actions taken are recorded on the admin action log? For example, deleted posts?

I agree, the punishments listed need moving down a notch so the 1st yellow is a ticking off only.
