No problem with Pete being positive. I guess somebody has to.
Nagle has/is doing an awful job of running our club. Awful and it’s not looking positive for me at all.

I'm with Pete. We have to stay positive and things will get better. More patience required. We cleared out some crap this summer but it was never going to be easy getting rid of others because nobody wants them and they still have a contract. New manager takes time. I agree its not been great so far but you cant keep changing your manager and expect miracles - it just doesn't happen (very often). I think MD is a good guy and has a reasonable track record - so we need to get behind him while he works out who's with him and who can play the style of football he wants. I'm optimistic that we will make more changes in January and that we will see some improvement. In the meantime, its hard work being a Town fan. Remember, we all knew this was coming due to the mistakes we have made since we got promoted to the PL. Why is it such a surprise that we are in a mess?

Id admire the optimism, maybe the only way to proceed is to hang in there and trust things will improve. It would be nice to see some green shoots from somewhere though.

Bearing in mind he mentioned his personal circumstances, he might be ill. I don't see how that has any bearing on Sio's comments being declared 'deplorable', which they simply weren't. Sio? Don't you mean Mav?

Thanks to those who voiced concerns over my health. I'm doing well thanks all things considered.
A bit of context to my post last night....... Yesterday morning I received sad and shocking news re the death of someone I'd known for over 50 years. The emotions stayed with me throughout the day. I watched Town hoping for a bit of an uplift. Another disappointment as we got beat again. I had a choice of wallowing in negativity and gloom or finding something positive to keep hope alive. I chose positivity. Sorry to those who find that offensive.
Some of the responses were OTT and even included personal abuse.
To see suggestions that I'm winding folk up was concerning. Like many on here, I've travelled thousands of miles and spent thousands of pounds watching Town over the years. Of course I'm disappointed and frustrated by how badly things have gone but choose to be positive and hopeful where I can. Is that allowed or do I need permission?

UTT Very sorry about the loss of your friend Pete. For what it's worth, I think the frustration with your posts - rightly or wrongly - generally comes from your implication that the rest of the fanbase is missing something, and that if we sit patiently we will be rewarded with this incoming upturn. It doesn't really work when everything over the last five years goes against that message, despite you continuing to tell us to wait. Perhaps folk should let that slide but if you create a thread specifically about the topic, it will encourage responses - it's a discussion forum at the end of the day. One day something will finally click and we'll be good again, I don't doubt it - and then your message will finally be delivered. But it's looking a lot further away than it did six months ago.

Bereavement is the hardest thing that life throws at us. I hope you can come through the other side as quickly as possible. I really hope I didn’t cause any offense. I think the thing that this forum does best is humour and most of the responding posts were done in this way imo. Personal abuse crosses the line. I was at a sports award presentation evening recently and the guest speaker was Chris Kendall, the Super League referee. He shared some abuse that he has suffered following matches including posters wishing his new born baby to be dead! For me, it was a shocking insight into the negative side of SM and it has made me think twice about my posting. In another thread, I called Cartwright an ‘imbecile’ but quickly realised he’s not an imbecile. He’s just a bloke doing a job and struggling atm. For all we know, he might be in a dark place now. We must keep the humour and the banter on this site, especially with the predicament Town find themselves in. But we must all try harder with the personal abuse as it can do real damage. All the best pal!

All the best pal! This. I don't understand why anyone gets personal to some anonymous person online, what does it achieve? Does it give the abuser a massive hard-on knowing they've possibly upset someone? Were they bullied as a child and it's some kind of existential payback? 99.9% of the time they won't know who they're abusing and I'd guess wouldn't do it to their face in a pub or on the street even if they did. Commiserations on your loss ShortbreadPete

Terrible form regardless of the excuses and way off the pace for automatic promotion. At this point I dont think we will make the playoffs and not getting promoted this season would be a disaster. I am afraid it looks like languishing for an extended period in League One again. I observe from afar, have done from a long time but not sure how much more i can take.

Well here we go for someone being positive your doing a lot of wallowing in negativity about people who care about the club. Nobody has found your comments offensive or said you need permission so not sure where that's coming from. The fact we desperately needed a striker and signed one who cant score for toffee, have a manger with no tactile nous and a team some who had been player of the season but now run around like headless chickens might be a source of positivity for some but for many its not. We have been here before so many times and to keep repeating the same old mistakes over and over is beyond stupid. I am hoping Nagle will act before it's not too late to stop the club self destructing because owners have been known to ditch clubs after they have reached rock bottom.

The Bolton and Peterborough games prove that there is a decent team in there somewhere. We should be able to compete in the lower top half of the league if we perform like this every week.
The problems seem to be we are mentally fragile and show no sign of being able to overturn games when we are behind. Northampton game for example they were panicking when we scored. But of course we missed the penalty and the opportunity went. This is because the mentality is weak
Secondly the injury record is quite frankly ridiculous and has been for a while. Playes getting injured in warm ups and out for months. Where is Healy? This needs addressing do we need new physios and medical staff
I also think we need to drop Lees and wiles. Lees is just too slow for a back three and wiles just goes missing. Time for a change in these positions even if it means promoting youth.
The strategy foe the Jan transfer window should be clear. Striker hopefully already sorted, new pacy CB and hogg replacement in midfield.

But not if it’s securing contracts for other Beswick sports clients.

We are getting there. We are still quite clunky and disjointed in the way we play but there’s certainly no lack of effort or commitment. Bringing Ward on at half time is a really positive sign. You just want the management to see what we see rather than persist with things that aren’t working and he is definitely starting to do that more and more. Onwards and upwards.

Slowly the squad is coming back fit and we are looking more organised and our passing is improving. Think we can kick on now and push for top 2.

See where we are at the turn of the year with another transfer window to come. We’re a bit like a slowly turning supertanker but we are finally heading in the right direction.

We're improving. If we're getting 'there' where is 'there'?
We looked resilient last night, which is a good improvement. We lacked ambition, belief and quality going forward. I'm hoping that's down to confidence, and instructions to play with the handbrake on (which will be taken off) but I fear it's having players without the technical quality or the fighting character in forward positions.
I can see us having enough for top 6 but the aim has got to be that second automatic spot. I thought we looked a better team than Wrexham, with the ability to get better - at least 1 or 2 levels we can hopefully get to in our forward play.
But I can see them bullying a fair few teams with their style as it's a poor league this year - I can see them keeping their momentum up. Are we going to be able to catch them? Can we go on wins of 6/7 games? The jury is very much out for me.

Looking at the match stats kind of endorses that too. Not a great game from the highlights but certainly looked like we more than matched them, which not many teams have done there this season.

They ran out of steam in the second half and couldn't maintain the pressure
I think most teams will cave in under that pressure at their place and I reckon they will amount enough points to challenge for 2nd place
It's up to us now to win virtually all our home games and try and out point them in the away games
I don't see us drawing many games because we will either win through attacking hard every game and probably lose a few down to silly defensive mistakes
Wrexham would probably finish bottom of the championship with that style of play
