Thought his positioning off the ball for Marshall's goal was outstanding ;-)

He's definitely looking far sharper. He's actually outpaced a few players recently which is something I never thought I'd see from him.

Agreed and I think he is getting better and more confident
Not been his biggest fan but today he sprinted about 50 yards to tackle their left back, the effort is there and don't think he gave the ball away once
Keep improving Ben

Starting to show he’s the player we hoped he would be. Great energy and becoming important to the team.

Surprising to me that Duff seems unwilling to sub him. It must be a conscious thing to try and improve his fitness/stamina. He obviously really rates him. Seems to be working to be fair though 👍🏻

Wiles is a talent, but he needs to be involved in the game a hell of a lot more. today was the first time, where he was involved in the game for large parts. he has the engine to get up and down (saw that at roverum) but at town he always seems to go awol, but today he was involved as i say for large parts. which is a good thing and a good sign, that the midfield worked , when on full cillinders. i feel if you have Kane,Kasmu and Wiles all firing there is enough there.

He has found his level like most players are starting to in this squad, some decent division 3 players in there, Championship level no where near, thats why playing Rovers instead of City👍

Definitely seems fitter and quicker. That's a good few performances in a row he's put in.
He's deceptively quick.

Agree. Never ever thought we’d see him out pace a player. Looked sharp.
Can’t see Evans getting in the side for a long time unless injury calls. Our most expensive signing from the summer is a bench man

Our most expensive signing from the summer is a bench man I don't see what Evans is actually good at apart from free kicks. There must be far more to his game than we've seen solely going off the reception their fans gave him today

As things stand, he's our 6th choice midfielder I reckon...

Another Wiles thread, he played well today against poor opposition (1st hour), he delivered two great corners in the 1st half which created a goal line clearance & the opening breakthrough.......Consistently average/good is better than being shite one week & great the next, said Mick Buxton.

Like Duff said, its not all about what a player like him with the ball..its the movement he makes to help the team mate who does have it. I dont notice a lot of that and I doubt most fans do.
Hes proved hes a very good player at this level at Rotherham and think he'll get better and better now hes established and playing with confidence.

Simple, more touches, more involvement where the ball or the actual play is. Previous games you could only notice his prescence by his abscence, if you see what I mean.🤔 His talent being pretty moot when having little of the ball or little involvement.

Not sure how he got away with the position of the ball for the corner that resulted in Pearson's goal.

Wonder if the reading fans are bothered about the player double tapping a moving ball for their winner against us?

Wonder if the reading fans are bothered about the player double tapping a moving ball for their winner against us? Probably not but we'd have been pissed off if the goal had been chalked off due to the ball not being over the quadrant.

Not sure how he got away with the position of the ball for the corner that resulted in Pearson's goal. Such a simple rewording of the rule to say that all of the ball must be within the quantrant, and this nonsense would stop immediately.

What is the point in trying to pinch a couple of inches? If the ref, lino or VAR (in the PL) had spotted it, that goal would have been chalked off.

Some rules they dont even try and enforce. Throw ins...almost every one is illegal..not for how the ball is thrown in ( though it often is ) but because the taker will have a foot on the pitch when he releases it.

I think what you're saying is "almost every one is illegal because I'm not aware of the actual law"!! < Law 15 - The Throw-in >At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must: "have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground outside the touchline"
ie - you can stand with just both your heels on the line if you like...or one heel on the line and one behind. You don't have to stand behind the line like the dumb-ass PE teacher told you to!

I was stood with a perfect view. Diameter of ball was well over the line. Doesn’t mean the ball is though. And I’m not a fan of this either. It’s like they’re being clever getting nearer the goal. Weird obsession

It’s to give more space from the corner flag on their run up.
