Has anyone got any details of this that Kev has talked about? A venue able to host up to 800 people in the stadium. I can’t think of another other place than the old swimming pool area of the stadium?

Doesn't seem to have been anything official which is weird since be said they hope to open it in November. I don't know why you wouldn't just shout it from the roof tops. Surely that's basic marketing if you're planning on opening a new venue.

I wonder how long it took them to come up with the name?

I assumed the pool had been filled in and it was in there. Hard to see how the gym area was big enough for 800 people but they must have knocked through in a few places

If it is successful then I wonder if they might replace the North stand lower with something different. Maybe executive boxes?

Agree it would be very weird and could be good business for Town partner Walkers Windows but that temporary north stand is poor and coming to the end of it's life. Not sure you replace it like for like.

Surely a stage for concerts can still be accommodated without the need for its removal? Always seemed a bizarre reason to not make it permanent.

I hoped they would put a purpose built standing terrace in, but don't see that likely given current attendances

It should be a raised platform where you sit and have a few drinks and a meal while the game is going. Your steak might get soaked and your wine glass sent flying by a wayward Ladapo strike but I can see it being right up Kev's street

Got to compete with Fulham for the executive money and a swimming pool is the one thing the stadium is missing.

Surely that's basic marketing if you're planning on opening a new venue. At one of the recent ATT meetings it was explained that the club were focusing on getting stuff done and then shouting about it rather thab the other way round. Reason being id they say 'X is going to be ready by Y' and it isn't then it opens up room for criticism. In regard to the H-Town venue it will be in the old gym in the North Stand. It will be sports bat vibe and availabile to all before and after the match, and will serve as the concourse for the Lower Tier during the match. Given the quality of the office refurbishment I'm expecting it to be a great venue.

I'd guess they are the ones overseeing this too. innsightdesign.co.uk/

Forgive me as what I’m going to say is incredibly boring. Filling that pool in would be a logistical nightmare. 23 years ago I worked at the gym and pool. The pool was a state of the art design at the time. It has a moving pool floor split into 5 sections all controlled electronically so it can go from 2 metres depth to 0 m (ie you can just walk across it.). What that means is underneath there is is an even deeper pit and it’s filled with huge cables and all attached to a pretty complexed system of electronics etc. My point being I guess you can’t just fill it in. I’m sure given time you could remove everything bit by bit but it would be a massively expensive undertaking.

So in essence, the floor could be brought to 0m when H Town was in use?

While I’m not doing The Charlton game I’m sure the finest folks of DATM will have sampled it and hopefully furnish me with pure awesome reports ensuring that I’ll be first in the queue for a beer and a dram or three for a The Wigan Athletic game on Tuesday 3rd December or better still if we progress in The FA cup and bag a Home Draw on St.Andrews day 🏴 on Saturday 30th November ! Great idea is this and looking very much forward to it ! 👍 🍺 🥃 🍺

Dont think Town fans a few scoops down need any help swaying about ha

Surely you'd just beam and block over it, the void then becomes like any other void or room underneath a floor. I don't remember what it looks like in there but I dare day they could go over it with a temporary structure in case it was ever required again for any reason.

Cracking idea though, can't wait until it's ready. What we've needed for decades!
