Forgive me as what I’m going to say is incredibly boring. Filling that pool in would be a logistical nightmare. 23 years ago I worked at the gym and pool. The pool was a state of the art design at the time. It has a moving pool floor split into 5 sections all controlled electronically so it can go from 2 metres depth to 0 m (ie you can just walk across it.). What that means is underneath there is is an even deeper pit and it’s filled with huge cables and all attached to a pretty complexed system of electronics etc. My point being I guess you can’t just fill it in. I’m sure given time you could remove everything bit by bit but it would be a massively expensive undertaking. Surely you'd just beam and block over it, the void then becomes like any other void or room underneath a floor. I don't remember what it looks like in there but I dare day they could go over it with a temporary structure in case it was ever required again for any reason. I’ve no ideas. I was a 20 year old leisure centre supervisor at the time 😂. And fair to say my current career is. Nothing to do with building or structures.

Does that mean we don't have to listen to his incessant inane waffle? He gets right on my tit's. All I know is that he said goodbye to everyone.David Sykes made the announcement on the stage that H was opening at the Charlton game and thanked Paul for his services,Kevin Nagle and Dave Carmichael were also there I’d like to give a little context to this but need to caveat my views by saying I know and like Rambo and also, as a White Rose Club member, these opinions will stink of first world entitlement, but here goes. The WRC is a very expensive area, populated by many who have supported the club in many different ways over many years and our tickets raise in price every year, while other season tickets are frozen. We can be labelled “prawn sandwich brigade” if you want, but I find that an utterly ludicrous description of loyal, long term fans with deep pockets. Over the years, the hierarchy at HTFC has largely ignored the WRC, with very, very rare appearances by Chairmen, Directors and managers. To be honest, it isn’t that important, though occasional acknowledgment would be nice (KN made his first, 5 minute stood at the door appearance yesterday). I don’t speak on behalf of anyone in the WRC, but Paul Ramsden’s emcee’ing is a big part of the appeal and one of the values we renewed despite relegation and increased prices (other values include the excellent commercial team stalwarts). With no warning or consultation, DTS made a very rare appearance yesterday to announce to us all that part of the reason (I suspect) many renewed was to be “redeployed” to H-Town. He then buggered off and we probably won’t see him or any other director until they want something. Had this been announced in the Summer, fair enough, but it was galling to have to listen to this announcement . As I said at the start, people will have much bigger problems and issues than this, but the complacency towards a loyal and valuable constituency is baffling to me. Change is not scary but imposed change leaves a sour taste. Not happy, and I’m not alone. (Appreciate this only affects 3/400 fans)

It was announced in the white rose on Saturday, that compare Paul Ramsden will move to the fanzone, which will be open at the Charlton game One reason to give it a miss the blokes an absolute tosspot !! What an awful comment. If you'd been around the country listening to other pitch announcers you'd realise what a gem we have in Rambo. He did a great job at Canalside and those days are much missed. I'm sure he'll do a good job in the new venue

Can only agree with Gledholts post. I've done the WRC about 6 or 7 times over the years and Rambo is brilliant up there. White Rose Clubs loss is certainly H Town's gain.
For anyone having a go at his on pitch announcing job, do you remember the days of mullet man Paul Clark?

At one of the recent ATT meetings it was explained that the club were focusing on getting stuff done and then shouting about it rather thab the other way round. Reason being id they say 'X is going to be ready by Y' and it isn't then it opens up room for criticism. In regard to the H-Town venue it will be in the old gym in the North Stand. It will be sports bat vibe and availabile to all before and after the match, and will serve as the concourse for the Lower Tier during the match. Given the quality of the office refurbishment I'm expecting it to be a great venue. Fair enough, seems an odd approach though with strange reasoning, if you ask me. Cracking idea though, can't wait until it's ready. What we've needed for decades! Id imagine once an opening date s nailed on then it will be promoted in the way you originally described.

Not really the point is it? The package we were sold has been altered without a thought. How do you, can you, know it's without a thought? Because WRC is consistently taken for granted by highest echelons (not the commercial team). DTS’s appearance was perfunctory and, in my view, insulting.

DTS’s appearance was perfunctory and, in my view, insulting. You should contact the club and make your views known to them. Depending on how and what they say I’d be making a decision. You’re well enough known in the club for KN to be alarmed if you’re not happy (or at least he should be).

Very harsh as I’m sure he’s a decent bloke, but yeah I for one (and many others I know) would be delighted if we didn’t have to listen to him anymore. His particular style of “banter” does wear a bit thin after a while.

Very few people will know that there was a Hotel somewhere in that stand whether it's still there or not i do not know. I use to go swimming in there and use the gym, it would be madness to fill the pool in when people are crying out for somewhere to go swimming.

Dont think they intend to do away with the pool . The hospitality boxes double up as the ensuite bedrooms , so it is something that could be brought back in the future should there ever be any demand I suppose.
H Town should be good , was always a good atmosphere at Canalside , and this has the advantage of being a minute from the turnstiles.

Rambo is superb, do you lot not go to away matches? Far bettna than most pitch anouncerers (is that plural?), does a great job in WRC, a local lad with Town at his heart no idea why anyone would criticise. Briggus Town fan too so reet by me!

I can understand White Rose members being disgruntled with the announcement that Rambo is being moved to another part of the stadium to some degree.
It’s very expensive to enjoy hospitality at the club and what you get for your money is really pretty poor comparatively for where it should be (it’s even worse value in the boxes imo.)
I do think that we have to let them crack on and improve things though, once we actually have control of the stadium I’m sure there’ll be investment throughout and H - Town is just the first part of all that so it’s slightly churlish imo to get too upset with them utilising their resources moving Rambo there.
I’m hopeful that those who’ve invested for years in supporting the club in the hospitality areas will be duly rewarded with much better benefits in the coming years.
If anyone wants to see how far behind we are as a club hospitality wise I’d reccomend having a look at “The Padded Seat” on YouTube, really eye opening to see the quality of hospitality at sporting stadia around the world.

Heard it all now folk who’ve been happy to pay to go in the White Rose Club whist the club has suffered numerous relegations, years of poor performances, been run into the ground by previous owners. Yet are now threatening to jack it in because the stadium announcer is being moved !!
Been in there a couple of times and it’s full of folk who seem to think they’re a cut above and better fans than the plebs who sit in the cheap seats.

That takes 'full of your own importance' to whole new level, even for DATM. I have absolutely no idea what your argument is or why you are making it, but I’ve repeatedly emphasised that this is a first world issue and of little importance to the vast majority of supporters. Now if you wouldn’t mind, I’m bored of interacting with you.
