Players are too soft and naive. They haven’t come up against a non-league clogger with a long thrower. Maxwell will have a rough game. Hopefully Duff plays the more experienced players like Hogg. Apparently Tamworth are an old fashioned bit of a rough Arse team , personally think Wrexham were similar bit obviously with a lot more quality . We have some physical players who can handle that type of game in the likes of lees and Pearson . We will be fine although the pitch may be a leveller Would agree they’d be very similar to Wrexham and we dealt with them from a defensive standpoint pretty well. I found them pretty old fashioned.Long ball forward, get players round the ball playing for seconds with aggression and when get the ball get it wide and whip crosses in. I think we’ll have more than enough.

I remember watching Liversedge on their rise a few years ago and they were also very similar. Simple things, intensity. Where they faltered was in quality of players for the level they reached.

Town will just need to watch out for Tamworth's long throw specialist, Tonks. It can be a throw in on the half way line and with stealing a few yards he can get it right into the middle of the penalty area. I've never seen such a long throw.

They aren't even a decent National League side, there should be no hint of a Tamworth win on Friday.

why you think this ? When stanley beat us, we were in bad form. This time we are i ndecent form and players have to preform to keep their places. Players are too soft and naive. They haven’t come up against a non-league clogger with a long thrower. Maxwell will have a rough game. Hopefully Duff plays the more experienced players like Hogg. We do better dealing with that type of game.

Tamworth wear red shirts, black shorts and red socks, so there's no reason why we can't wear the famous blue and white stripes (with white shorts and black socks) - is there?
Live on terrestrial TV at peak time - that's what we should be wearing, anyway!

We played against cloggers in pre season did alright did we not ? the pitch will not be a factor, like back in the day. Recently our players have stood up to physical battles fine such as Wrexham. I think if we go about the game as we have being we will have more than enough . Remember we are 2 divs higher and as of last season, some of our players were 4 dvis higher .

This is the biggest game in Tamworths history and same for their players and fan's. There is always a big shock in the first round, surely not us but that pitch will cause us problems, all the other ones did in the league games.

We're a more enticing opponent than Everton (and Norwich) they've faced in the 3rd round of the FA Cup not that long ago? Cool - we're more massive than I knew, I shall re-evaluate my opinion!! 🙄😆 🫡

Us, Brum, Bolton and possibly Wrexham were arguably the biggest draw they could get in the first round. We are in a much smaller pond now🤔 Had they got a more localish derby its probable they would not have been on tv??

I remember that lad at Stoke who had a long throw in straight on to the head of Lurch, 1-0. Been plenty of long throw merchants over the years... Rory Delap and Dave Challinor the ones that spring immediately to mind. But neither of those guys ever scored direct from one like Tom Cowan did!

I think this’ll be an easy nights work for the lads with Wiles on the scoresheet again with the space he’ll be afforded.
