Some people may think this is simplistic but it just seems like some folk are upset we are winning cos they have nothing to moan about. You do know you just don’t have to buy it don’t you?? That last line 100%

Just get the basics right and follow the lead of other clubs who have commercial success. To be frank that jacket and some of the other over priced tat has me thinking that whoever is in charge is seriously lacking in judgement.... and probably not listening to existing staff. I can't think of a single person who would think that jacket is a good idea. Last time I saw the players looking that embarrassed was when they were forced to wear that Paddy Power spoof kit. Embarrassed? They thought it was all a good laugh as did I. I still can't believe how many gullible folk fell for it hook, line and sinker

Think it's fair enough to point out that £55 is ridiculous for a t-shirt regardless if we are top, middle or bottom of the league. Especially when it looks like THAT.

Realistically, as a middle aged man with a reasonable idea how to dress, if I'm going to wear any sort of HTAFC 'leisurewear' it needs to be both of acceptable quality and sufficiently subtle as to almost transcend football club merchandise. I honestly can't remember buying anything for myself this century. (I have picked up the occasional birthday / Christmas present for young family members). It's quite interesting to watch the experimentation going on at the moment - obviously the club is looking to significantly broaden its retail offering with this new 3x size Club Shop in the offing. Personally, the item I've been most impressed by so far is this: While fully aware I'd look an absolute div in this 'lid', on the right head it fulfils the quality and design criteria above. It's at the premium end of the scale, but without the ludicrous chasm between price and value we're seeing in much of this other stuff. I wouldn't feel any embarrassment gifting this to a discerning teenage nephew, for example. Dialling in the branding is key for the merchandising. I like the use of the iconography they've been experimenting with since the summer. There's an alternative Official League hat with the club cr€st stitched on the front that doesn't really work IMO. I have to admit - I did think Jarvis was on the right track in attempting to come up with a modern, pared back Terrier logo for branding purposes. I just didn't like the design they came up with. KN has sensibly elected to leave this alone for the time being, but I'd probably be inclined to pay some Americans to come up with something decent for merchandising / digital uses that can better sit atop a professionally cleaned up official club cr€st.

You think any kids will like that garbage? They’ll get ridiculed at school wearing some of that gear. Still full of happiness Chelmsford? Just reality.

Bet they were buzzing

I have just looked at some of this American stuff. I’m astounded that someone thought the varsity jacket, hockey shirt, baseball shirt were a good idea and the price of the ‘lids’ I find equally astounding. Whilst we are unlikely to get the sales numbers I genuinely feel that Bojan, Ward and Ladapo may score more goals than sales of the the first three items at full price. Whilst I have no issue with mixing it up, I bought 10 varsity jackets for promo girls to wear in the summer (I still thought they looked shit) for my own business, I bought what I am sure will be the exact same quality jackets for less than £15 they a good number are stuffed in my garage if anyone wants one of them for free I will even pay postage they are equally tacky and with different branding! But my point is that whatever people think about the product, the club are either having their pants pulled down by suppliers or taking the absolute piss out of fans with these prices. shop.ralawise.com/en-GB/awdisjusthoods/varsity-jacket/

Love that varsity jacket except ... It's "too Town". If that had a subtle HTAFC somewhere on the front, not that shite on the back, I'd have it. Love the style. Not just that jacket but often clothes in general, you pick up a garment you initially like the look of, only to see some silly garish print on the back which spoils it.

How come a T Shirt with no sleeves costs more than a T Shirt? Surely there is less material, so it should be cheaper?

Merch (like the new word) is exactly what it says it is. Selling goods with good profit margins for the benefit of the business. I will like something that a 16 year old won’t and vis versa. The American slant is obvious with new products as we are looking at development globally.

Some of the stuff they're peddling is absolutely rank. Not only that, it's ridiculously expensive.

Those jackets do have the look of Happy Days about them…
Very 1980’s, maybe an attempt to evoke some nice memories…
Merchandise has never been for me anyway, but good luck to ‘em, seems to be a big part of football clubs revenue strategies nowadays. Not much else they can sell in fairness…

If we wear these to the matches do you become a Baseball Fury? Not for me those shirts but I know a few youngsters who wear baseball shirts. Not sure they'll choose one of those though, the way they've put the htfc is bloody horrible imo

I bought a black jumper with HTAFC across the middle in black lettering. Really impressed with it, got it in some half price sale a few months back for about £20 ish.
As others have said, it’s pretty pricey but the club has to make money. Also the print/production runs will be much lower than high street brands with dozens/hundreds of outlets.

It's not that long ago there was such an item. It didn't sell well as I picked one up very cheap in a sale and I hardly ever buy merchandise. Not sure what happened to it or I'd take a pic and post it.

Thanks for this runner76 and was on right away and picked three T-shirts (3XL) to be picked up after The Wigan Athletic match all being well... 1) - HTAFC Dalton Hudds T-shirt... 2) - Terriers Adult Navy T-shirt... 3) - HTAFC Dalton Badge T-shirt... Was gonna also get The HTAFC Dalton Text Grey T-shirt but with a 20 stone Rab C Nesbitt beer gut for Scotland a walk any half decent distance means wet armpit areas and knowing ma luck if we (hopefully) rattle in a few v Wigan I’ll be sat beside some beautiful babe and the last thing she’d wanna see would be ma arms sky high in celebration with a grey T-shirt on so I’ve left that one off ma list !!! 😉
