This team is so worrying, about as full strength as we can put out but we can;t control an U21s team & our lack of pace is frightening,
There is no intensity, no sense of anyone trying to run the game, we have relied on another Wiles bullet & while I don't particularly blame Chapman, we've conceded another goal from the only shot on target again.
They better step it up 2nd half.

With the expection of Forest 21’s, who are drawing with Wigan 0-0, every other prem U21’s team is getting spanked. Except Man Utd of course.
Barrow are beating Villa 21’s 3-0 FFS. Colchester beating Arsenal 21s 2-0.
If we don’t improve considerably on the second half, and we hear anything close to “giving respect” to “very talented players” they can all get to fuck.

Poor quality game with 2 goals of decent quality. Great strike by Wiles. Soft as shit defending leading up to their goal though. Miller has a pathetic half attempt to tackle him, then Longwijk misses the tackle (like Spencer did on Saturday for Crawleys first). Up front Bojan shows again why he shouldnt be anywhere near the first team. He has been bullied by u21's, the lad isnt going to score the goals we need him to in a month of Sundays. How on earth have we ended up with Bojan, Ward, Healey, Marshall and Ladapo as our strike force.
I gather from the team selection we are actually trying to progress in this competition, yet we look so lethargic and uninterested at times. Today has just shown what we have been lacking all season tbh.

The system Duff plays lacks any kind of creativity. We're desperate for good wingers and an attacking midfielder.

Like Wiles and so, so many others, there’s very little consistency. And he’s been skinned far too many times tonight. As have others of course. |

Our system this year seems to be about compressing the play and either depending on excellent one touch football or forcing errors in and around the box to create chances.
Not sure we’re talented enough in tight areas and worried it makes us really vulnerable to counter attacks and balls over the top.

We’ve proven so many times that we don’t have the ingenuity or the ability to create when we’ve either compressed it or in tight spaces. There is nobody in the building who is gonna change that. Haven't this United team already beaten Barnsley? Have those other u21s getting thrashed even got anything to play for tonight? Scoop the toys up and put them back into the pram. You have to be technically excellent to be on United's books still at 19/20. Very few of a league one squad would ever have been close to playing for United.

Whilst we probably won't, we're still odds on to get a top 6 spot then anything can happen in the play-offs. I certainly wouldn't be judging based on this Tinpot Trophy. Presumably everyone agrees on the latter otherwise they'd be at the stadium and not typing on here.
