i went down for my leeds ticket this morning and we ad a chat with sean jarvis. he asked us wat was wrong on saturday with the performance and what we think about stan. he also said there will be some interesting discussions this morning but he thought stan would get at least these 2 home games.
but imo if we get 6 points in these 2 home games we will only be papering over the cracks becos no disrespect but crewe and yeovil are going to struggle this year.
what does everyone think... will it all be rosie with 6 points? or is it paperin over the cracks?

Cap'n, you want to be careful with how you phrase that for those who don't realise what you're referring to

Whilst I think Stan has been poor so far as a manager...if we play really well and get 6 points then perhaps he may be starting to get it right? I certainly hope that is what happens...the day I go to watch Town and hope they lose I think I will pack it in.

;D Yeah, see what you mean! Mind you a 'fit and raring to go' granny in the dressing room would get Lucketti so excited he'd probably drop his spirit level.

Agreed, in my opinion those that are hoping we lose on Tuesday need to have a serious look at themselves, and supporting Huddersfield Town.

How's his gran? Fit and raring to go I hope! Last week I posted on here saying that a heavy defeat on Saturday would see Mr T sacked - it would appear I was wrong. At the risk of repeating myself, the next 2 fixtures WILL be crucial. Win them both and Stan will surely be given more time (possibly until Christmas?) Anything less than 3 points from these games and I would imagine we'll be looking for a new gaffer. Personally, I'm still hoping Stan keeps his job and turns things around. We'll know more at 21:40pm tomorrow night. This will be a very interesting week for HTFC and Stan Ternent.

I think it will be six points whoever's in charge!
Personally, I'd have sacked him before these games, put Gerry in charge, and let him use the two wins to build some confidence in the squad in readiness for whoever the new man is.
Letting Stan take the plaudits for two wins, against supposedly weaker sides, will only prolong the situation.
If Stan DOESN'T win both games... he's a gonner, in my opinion!

Its an interesting one, today was really the ideal chance to sack him. We should win the next two (if we don't he'll be gone).
Presuming we do win the next two we'd probably have to look at it again after Brighton. But by then the season really could be over.

Its not a comfortable position to be in but in this case you have to look at the bigger picture. If a defeat gets rid of Ternent then that will be the best thing for this club. A win and even another win against bottom of the league Crewe on saturday is just prolonging the misery. Personally I won't be unhappy with a draw as it 'should' have the same end result and at least the next guy will have an extra point to build on. It doesn't sit easy not wanting us to win but in this extreme case i want whats best for HTFC more than I want a win.

That L****s fixture springs to mind... and the last thing we want for the players confidence is another drubbing there! The time to get rid is right now!

I, along with many others here and around Hudders, have a personal dilema going on at the moment, My heart, as always wants a victory, and I will be bursting my lungs getting behind the B & W shirts on Tuesday. However my head tells me that a win will only prolong the misery and paper over the cracks for a few more weeks.
The last time I felt like this was a few years ago when my old faithful pet cat got old and fell ill and had to be put to sleep, my heart says no but in my mind I knew what had to be done

I`m appalled at SJ asking fans what they thought of Stan.
He is,after all, a paid employee.
Did he enquire in confidence?

I`m not going tomorrow night.I just can`t be bothered. It doesn`t mean though that I want them to lose.It just means I`m not braving the cold to watch another 90 mins of dross.

but not going achieves nothing-sods law would probably say if loads decided not to go,we'd play pretty well, and win comfortably, then you'd end up wishing you'd gone-we've all seen town go through some bloody bad times before, but just not going to the games isnt the answer

wouldnt blame anyone at all for not going down tomorrow night, especially those who have to travel any distance to get to the game
freezing cold, rubbish football, 19th in the league, quiet/zero atmosphere, playing an equally poor (if possible) team - hardly a game to look forward to!

Each to their own though.

yep - it is what supporting a team like town is about i guess the fans have been remarkably patient IMO - both under Ritchie and under Stan dont think Ritchie got any abuse at all at the home games, maybe slightly at Oldham away (i think) anyway - the fans will get behind the team if we start at a high tempo, put some challenges in, try and play some football (scrap that last one maybe ) not exactly rocket science is it? surely we cant play 4-5-1 and have only one shot on target in the entire game again?

the fans have been remarkably patient IMO - both under Ritchie and under Stan Remarkably patient or is it just apathy? I know some Town fans who've been going home and away for 30+ years and they say they just don't care anymore. Wonder how many other Town fans feel the same.

I don't think its a matter of Town fans "not caring any more", more that they are fed up and demoralised that year after year, the club just never seems to get things right, on and off the pitch. If I lived relatively close to Huddersfield I'd always be there, but it's just too easy to stay at home at present. You can't blame KSNE, and others, in the present circumstances.
