If we dont open a proper supporters bar in the complex then it will be a disgrace! Totally agree. Thought the one at Notts county was very good. Fingers crossed for a Hooters in the place! :nodding:

Disagree. I worry about the impact this will have on the Town centre, which is hardly thriving as it is. I'm concerned about green belt land being built on and question whether or not this will be financially viable, or if it will just end up empty. Good news about the 900 jobs, but in all honesty I'd be more excited about a new car manufacturer or somethhing similiar moving into Town, most jobs created by the HD1 project are going to be unskilled and low paid work. Hardly going to make the local public rich. you sound like a fkin student,,id be concerned if every body thought like you,,id be unemployed

cvb, the town centre is doing alright compared to bradford, halifax, wakefield etc. I doubt people who go to town will decide to go to hd1 instead, its impractical.

Negative bastard, this is my town, dont want shit said about it. You're clearly exaggerating the problems, obviously the recession has had an impact but its weathered the storm pretty well, in fact I remember it getting recognition from the government. One thing it is certainly not is a shit hole, look at the fkin scenery and nice places rarther than focus on the negatives. We love you huddersfield we do.

Huddersfield has been crying out for something like this for 10 years, we need some regeneration including the new development opposite gasworks street just been passed..... its run down and dead when you walk down past the gas club towards the ground, horrible at moment. The Town centre besides Kingsgate is a shithole, the Primark wilkinsons end of town is so so depressing.
I think this development will bring hundreds of thousands more people to the Town and its got to be good to develop around the stadium as the st andrews approach is so empty and boring, the cinema, pub and coffee shop end and gym isnt bad tbh.
the sooner it all starts the better for me !!

Used to work for a company with an office in Huddersfield and when I worked from there the Town Centre was a ghost town... I just couldn't see where the jobs were or what the attraction is to Hudds - which is a shame because Huddersfield is a good place with friendly people... It does need massive regeneration and I've never understood why they don't improve the transport links and use themselves as an anchor between Leeds and Manchester.... I work in Holbeck, Leeds and the amount of regen work by Yorkshire Forward has been excellent over the past few years... So much so that once an area riddled by drugs (probs still is ) and prostitution is now developing into one of the nicest parts of Leeds and Huddersfield can't compare to it...

Out of train station turn right, on corner, havent been in but in the window the stuff looks pretty decent. worth a look but i tend to do my shopping on line or stone in mirfield, hudds has long been shit/overpriced for decent clobber,i admire your stand on the town centre and its cetainly better than bradford, wakey halifax but believe me fella its a shithole compared to what it used to be,the outdoor market was 3 times as big there was always loads of shops, now evn the main st has boarded up ones, its gone downhill mate believe me.

Probably Henleys, Gio Goi, Lyle & Scott and G-Star....
Only really walk round Huddersfield on a match day these days, so might not see the bigger picture but it is a lot nicer and busier to Bradford ever is for example. That's a proper shit hole.
Huddersfield to me has always been a bit of a "local" town. Has a lot of indipendant shops rather than the chain shops you get everywhere else. Something I like about the place.
It might be dead during the week, I dont know i've not been for years, but it can't be any worse than anywhere else round here.
