Lee Clark has today moved to quash claims in the press that he is on the verge of becoming the next Leicester City manager.
Press reports has today claimed that the Town boss was close to joining the Foxes, but Clark refutes that and told htafc.com:
"We have woken up to another round of media speculation this morning regarding me and it is now escalating on a daily basis. Article continues Advertisement
"I have tried not to comment on it up until this point as that is all it has been - speculation; I didn't want to give any substance to it. For me, it has been a case of 'business as usual' this week.
"However, the speculation hasn't gone away and I apologise to anyone if not commenting on this earlier has caused any issues for the supporters. Regardless, now is the time that I want to put these rumours to an end.
"Obviously on a personal level it is satisfying to be linked to jobs at clubs in a higher division, but that is all I take from these links. Players get linked to other clubs when they are doing well and you have to take it as a compliment in that sense.
"As I have also said, I believe these rumours are a compliment to Huddersfield Town too and we should take it as a positive that our success is catching the attention of people in the game outside of our area.
"However, I want to reiterate that I am 100% committed to the Owner, the fans and the players at Huddersfield Town and I am totally focussed on continuing this magnificent start to the season and getting this Club promoted.
"I want to put an end to this speculation - I am not interested in the Leicester vacancy. All I am interested in is moving forward with the job at hand at Huddersfield Town.
"My staff and I, and most importantly my family, are very happy here; we get looked after unbelievably well by the Club and we really appreciate it.
"My sole focus is on taking Huddersfield Town forward and achieving the goals that we are all so desperate to."

Considering he has just released a statement ruling himself out it would be a waste of £20.

I wonder if Wm Hill will let me have my £20 back. I'm not very good at gambling! Still very, very happy though, can't wait for Satday! Next bet - Town to score more than 3 v Walsall to mark LC staying. E,I,E,I,E,I,O up the football league we go!

According to Lee Peltier's agent there's a big announcement coming out of Town in the next hour. Something about Dean Hoyle being furious, Clark doing a u-turn and being put on gardening leave.
You heard it here first.

"Don't understand why Clarke keeps getting linked with us as he doesn't fit the 'Big Name' status the chairman's after. Although I don't know how you can get bigger then Sven. I think after last night's result I might be a Blackpool fan anyway"
From an LCFC fan who spent his later years in Blackpool.
So what's all this talk about a U-Turn?

basically if he had talks they were behind DH's back surely? im glad he is staying but if it did emerge that he had secret talks i would be a bit peed off...however the more i read into this story the more i believe that naff all has happened actually and everyone at town has just been laughing about the speculation.
we have been in the media loads this week, a ploy?
anyway, im overall glad he is staying.

The u-turn?
I've heard by email that Clark has been put on gardening leave for speaking to Leicester and that Hoyle is furious. There is going to be a statement within the hour.

I never said it wasn't important The bloke is ambitious and could well have been interested I just want a bit of stability to return and allow us to concentrate on the matches we have coming up The players have the best excuse ever for underperforming with all this speculation banging about

If this was done behind Deans back i'll be very surprised, but if it was it would be the end for him as Town manager.
