I normally browse the other teams forum before we play them and what that 'massive' wrote was that embarrassing I had to sign up and post a reply lol.
We've had no decent away crowd this season at Hillsborough apart from Chesterfield, and last season you were the best away fans to come to S6 so bring it on.

You do have to walk all the way round though to the away end mind.....

I have also been keeping an eye on the Owls forum for the past month, and although I have read some pretty dillusion posts from your fans,Umpteen times from different posters.. 'Charlton and Huddersfield are going to fade away while we will grow as the season goes on blah blah, based on nothing but blind faith and hope etc etc'. It has actually proven the case over last two games for us. Every promotion hopeful team will have a slump in form and I just hope our current poor run ended against Bournemouth. As I say, I have been reading your forum and doubt I will contribute, but you do seem to have a' feel good factor' their at the moment, what with the Mandaric banner and Megson masks. All I can hope, and I say this as a promotion rival, not because I dislike Sheffield Wednesday, which I do not. But last season we had our own 'feel good factor' on the terraces, we had the 'PILKS WILL TEAR YOU APART AGAIN' banner. The impressive looking 'BELIEVE' poster campaign in the playoffs. It all culminated in 32,000 Town fans wearing Blue and White T shirts, with 'BELIEVE' written across our chest at Old Trafford It did sod all for us! I hope both ourselves and Wednesday go up, Sheffield is a great City, top class stadium and I live with an Owl so it would mean harmony and double celebration in the house.

Just to clear up a few things if I may. Yes SWFC fans are obsessed with attendances, I don't understand why but we are. We didn't sell 4,700 at Oldham. They gave us 3,000 which we sold but then gave us an additional 1,600 seats which we only sold another 500 of. A good away following bearing in mind a few weeks before Xmas and £23 a ticket. Anything 4,000 away fans + on Saturday is a very good turn out and I'm very happy you have both tiers as there will be great banter with the North Stand which I imagine will sell out. We have sold almost 22,000 home seats for Saturday and it's also pay on the gate so wouldn't be too surprised to see around 28,000 there on Saturday so will be an excellent atmosphere between two very good sides who play different styles of football. I'm gonna say we will knock it as we have only dropped 2 points at home this season and we are in really good form, but who knows you certainly have players to cause us problems! Believe me its not only SWFC fans obsessed with attendances, there's enough guff written on here about them. Sometimes its so bad i'd even rather watch an Adam Sandler film than come on here!

I hope both ourselves and Wednesday go up, Sheffield is a great City, top class stadium and I live with an Owl so it would mean harmony and double celebration in the house. With us Wednesday fans we've had so much doom and gloom recently it's just such a nice change to be up near the top of ANY table. I've been watching SWFC home and away since the late 70's and believe me I've seen some BAD sides and also some very, very good sides. Our team in the early 90s was one of the best in the country at the time. 3 Cup finals, 3rd Place finish in the 1st Div in 1992 (when Leeds won it :shake: ). But since the late 90's it's been downhill, we've had some terrible players and terrible results. But one thing that has stuck with us is our attendances which we are very proud of. I must admit I think our attendances this season have been a bit poor but I suppose times are harder now for people, ticket prices have gone up, jobs have been cut, wages not going up for them lucky enough to work and you have to prioritize other stuff than football. This is why on Saturday when there's around 26 - 28,000 at Hillsborough a week before Xmas makes me immensely proud! And so should you be of your away support. I guarantee when we play Charlton at home they will bring 1,500 tops, same with MK Dons, (already played em when they were right up there at the start and they brought about 400) & Brentford, Carlisle etc...... Bring on Saturday and I look forward to a really festive atmosphere with hopefully plenty of action on the pitch and none off it! (Your more likely to get that at the other Sheff team tbh :ranting: )

(Your more likely to get that at the other Sheff team tbh ) Every club has its sob stories. Look at our history over the last 10 years, it hasn't been great. Our attendances from when we were top of the championship to when we were in league 2 probably only dropped by around 3-4000 home fans. I think we have a fairly decent core of support and unlike wednesday don't have a large floating support to attract (play off final aside!).

The 3500+ figure came from HTAFC twitter so it will be correct. Maybe we've risen to 4200?
