I know we did this some time ago but -
we had some leftover mashed potato, which I have just had in sandwiches with mayo. Fucking delicious

I've cut bread out of my diet after my mate told me he lost half a stone in 2 weeks simply by doing this. Jacket potatoes are the way forward.

According to my mate. Isn't it to do with potato being a simple carb and bread a complex carb, or the other way round, or something.

Corned Beef & Piccalilli on white bread.
Brown bread is for bisexuals, granary is for gayers, ciabratta is for italians

White bread is for the proles who will die of heart failure and obesity in their grotty northern estates, bringing down the UK's life expectancy rate in the process.

They're big chains of carbon atoms with hydrogen and oxygen ones attached. They burn well and release plenty of energy. If you consume lots and don't use the energy then your body has to convert it to fat. If you don't want to be fat, eat less and exercise more.

I went to the gym this morning at what is usually a quiet time, and it was great fun to watch all the fatties puffing and blowing away, bursting out of their brand spanking new gym clothes, which you just know as of two weeks time are going to gather dust in the wardrobe for the rest of the year

I would think that potatoes and white bread offer the same sort of carbohydrate, bris, but I'm not 100% on that. "Complex carbohydrate" seems biochemically incorrect to me, at least in this instance - I'm fairly sure that brown bread, wholewheat pasta etc contain the same sort of starch (the carb in this instance) but release of the starch proceeds more slowly due to the fibre also present (which is the good thing). You'd be better off stripping your diet of white pasta, bread and normal rice and replacing with wholewheat/wholegrain versions. Or just eating less, you greedy guts.

My argument is that potato is natural food whereas most breads are full of stuff you cannot be sure about.
I don't eat massive amounts. I put on about 2 stone after quitting smoking, mainly due to me eating more crap to keep my hands and mind occupied. It took me about 3 months to put those 2 stones on.
Since then I've found it really hard to shift. I started cycling to work back in May and play footy once a week (for 90 mins), but my weight has only fallen slightly. It might be partially explainable by the old fat turning to muscle argument. I'm definitely more toned than I was 6 months ago.

Why not make your own bread then, you crazy mental? Of course you'll have to mill your own flour from your own organic wheat because you can't trust the bread companies, not even Warburtons.

Muscle's very heavy bris, compared with other tissue. Not sure what the ratio is - it'll be on the intertard somewhere and you can compare weight of muscly bris with chubby bris with the conversion factor thrown in.

There is special toasting bread - 1 point a slice
and normal bread - 0.5 a slice.
The less points u spend on food, the more u have for ale.
