Did not appear to catch the Reading bound team coach today. Shame that....it would have saved dozens of people from offering to drive him there themselves from off here

Good business really, but i do feel town could be setting themselves up for an absolute hammering from the fans depending how the next few weeks go. If we piss about and a new manager doesnt come in with enough time to asses the squad and promptly make some crucial signings then the knives are going to be out. Bottom of the league, shipping goals and sold 2 of our better players for big money. 100% agree with this. I am slightly worried about how things are going to turn out at the moment.

I'm not worried about doing business without a manager being in place...whenever a bloke takes over he has the squad he's got & works with that...if someone is sold, that just adds to the kitty & if someone turns down the job because we've sold Norwood, he obviously wasn't the right man for us anyway

When he first came here he looked like a real player, just the kind of quality we had been lacking in midfield for so long. Unfortunately he's never really hit those heights again and has had more bad games than good. A bit disappointed he's going as I did rate him, but as long as we get good money it's best for both parties. Good luck Ollie.

I said as much yesterday, but it's not how many fans will see it.

I am slightly worried about how things are going to turn out at the moment. Just signed 3 very decent looking midfielders in Coady, Butterfield & Majewski and sold one who didn't want to be here and one who was lightweight and generated cash to strengthen defence and maybe a striker. Can't say I'm not worried myself but it could quite quickly turn half-full again, especially if we get the right gaffer in.

3m for two players who were a common theme in a team which only just avoided relegation twice is good business in my book!! Both had good spells and are decent players.....but you can't play either in a two and neither was that consistent over long spells. Trouble is we never seem to be able to get central midfield quality - can coady and butter field prove otherwise?!

I suppose that needs must though & it all looks like cracking business thus far.

Hopefully the new gaffer will give Gobern a fair chance
Him and Coady could potentially be pretty good together. I think our central midfield options look very good even with Clayton and Norwood out of the door:
Coady, Butterfield, Hogg, Gobern, Majewski, Holmes, Billing

I don't understand all the problems with transfer activity when no permanent manager in place. For one there should be funds available for him to buy his own personnel and two what if Robbins had stayed? Then left after window shut? The new guy would have to work with what he had.

We can't hang about, we need dosh in place for new gaffer to be able to buy CB and CF if need be as soon as possible. As others have said midfield not our biggest problem area. So thnaks for the memories Ollie but goodbye.

If Norwood leaves then we'll regret it in a couple of years time. I really think he could be a top player, he just needs the confidence.

How can good midfield players excel when the forwards hide and don't offer a pass good luck to Norwood I hope you go onto bigger and better things. You have a point, but lack of movement by the forwards isn't the only reason for Norwood's inconsistent form at Town. You can't blame the strikers when he gives the ball away trying to play a simple 10 yard pass across the pitch. All our players would benefit from better movement around them - it would make them look far better players - but Norwood's form has been inconsistent for us even when this is taken into account. And he's not stranger to hiding himself...

While we are there maybe we can tempt Adkins to take Scannell and Danny Ward off our hands if he wants to take our worst players. Good riddance, 1 good game in 20. Clayton will be missed, Norwood simply wont be.

Player with potential but didn't deliver often enough. Always seemed to be criticising team mates for his own mistakes. One that particularly stands out was Leicesters second goal last season (if I remember rightly) was too busy screaming at the linesman and his teammates to stop the ball coming in, resulting in their chance. Anyway, yes good deal for us if we get that money. Need new manager in sooner rather than later now.

Chances are, he will flourish elsewhere. Fair play to him, he came here and gave it a go. Think a move for him is better for him personally, and us.

We could do with a new manager this week so he has time to do something with his squad. Didn't we appoint Robins just after the Jan Transfer Window closed?
Norwood has all the potential in the world but it's a good bit of business for us I think. I'm happy with it, let him move on for a good fee rather than rotting away.

Same people wanting rid of Norwood are the ones wanting Gobern to get ANOTHER chance. Baffling. But it would be the opposite way round if we could sell Gobern for the money quoted. It's about building a war chest so that the new gaffer can strengthen the defence and attack as we seem to have our bases covered in midfield and Gobern would still be 6th/7th choice in that department after Butterfield/Coady/Majewski/Hogg/Billing and Holmes
