Oh great! Another signing we don't need when we're crying out for a striker, 2 centre backs and a manager!
Who the f4ck is sanctioning these signings? Hey, how about another 3 midfielders we don't need?

Hope he's not Tim Robinsons son, he'll not be welcome in these parts if he is. Don't worry he's Fred Robinsons son.

I really don't see the point in this signing, Dixon must be thinking what the hell he's done wrong and qpr won't want him coming here to then not play a game. We need a manager in to steer the ship.

Hey, how about another 3 midfielders we don't need? The right type of player does not always come along in the order we either need or would like. I'm sure CB and ST are on the list but I'd rather them take their time and get the right people, than rush and get the wrong ones. I do understand your frustration though.

Bad news for Jake Carroll! That's his "pathway" blocked for the remainder of his contract – what next for him?

Pretty happy with this
I like Dixon and feel he's a good player but you can't hide from the fact that the defence never looks like keeping a clean sheet (even with Coady earning rave reviews anchoring in midfield with either Hogg or Peltier)
We still need a centre back but we've conceded 14 in six games (including three against a league one side) and no defender on our books should feel safe after that record!
If Robinson helps tighten up the defence then that's got to be a good thing

Jack is a good addition to the squad but I do agree that we need an additional centre back even when Gerrard is back from injury.

He's slow, struggles to find his men with simples passes, the second he moves out of position it's exploited. Lynch covers for him a lot. I'd say the opposition generally look to exploit his weakness. This lads going to walk into the team in my opinion.

I have no problem with his signing as he appears to be a very talented player who will no doubt improve our squad, however I am getting worried that the positions we urgently require new players in are being overlooked.
Welcome to the club though Jack

What I'm saying is " is he anywhere near good enough for the first team ? " . I would hazard a guess that on all known evidence the answer is no.. As a supporter of a club in the bottom third of the league are you advocating turning down the chance to sign an England u21 international because you would prefer to give Carroll a chance ? I just don't get your reasoning . Why don't we just promote all the youths to give em " pathways" and get relegated ?

The pathways thing doesn't necessarily mean that everyone will eventually make it into the side. Carroll clearly isn't up to it and will be moved on soon. Dixon, IMO, hasnt been great either, so this seems like a sensible move.

Have to laugh at everyone saying that this is a pointless signing, or that LB is a position that didn't need strengthening. It's pretty clear that Carroll isn't up to the job in this division, even as a backup, so that means we have one competent LB in the squad, so tell me again why this is a pointless signing?

To be honest this pathway is a load of rubbish anyway. this signing confirms it .

The lad is a current England Under 21. One of the problems we have is the fact that decent wingers get the ball into the box far too often and, as we saw in the game against Bournemouth, we then get hit. Dixon has done OK but we have neither had a solid defence or good delivery into the box so I do not see how he can be that brilliant. I hope this lad comes in and shines, even though it seems an odd thing for QPR to do. One of the things which I get fed up with on this site is the constant negativity. The club have done well over the last few years, and our sell ons prove this, at attracting decent young players, but some people on here always think we could have got someone better. As with Coady and Butterfield we are looking at improving the squad, and I think they will be better than Clayton and Norwood, and I hope this lad does the same.

We've just managed to sign on loan an under 21 England international that played for a top 6 premier league club , was signed by one of the most respected managers in English football and we get him immediately . An amazing piece of business by everybody concerned The muppets that think this is a bad thing, your not football fans your professional moaners

I wonder about people sometimes, just because we've signed Robinson doesn't mean we aren't trying to sign a defender or a striker. Complaining about the number of midfielders as well, should be not have signed Butterfield and Coady then because so far they look a better combination than Clayton and Norwood or should we have stuck with Gobern, Billing, Hogg and Sinnott? If a deal comes along that you think can improve you whether they're looking in that area or not you take it.
