Getting rather tasty... This game won't finish with 22 players on the pitch, that's for sure.

Think Brighton need a Wednesday red card here to give them a second wind.

I hope I'm made to eat my words but Brighton don't look like scoring here. A lot of long balls this half.

Wilson doesn't look anything like going on to be the player United hoped he would
Another one who only looked so good in the youth levels because he was bigger than everyone at the time?

I really hope Hull stuff these. Their play acting and constant surrounding of the ref is pathetic.

Despite dressing like Paddington in his duffel coat and being very animated all the time, the Wednesday boss seems like a decent chap. Good interview just then on sky.

Lot of comment about Wednesday being a massive club. Last 5 seasons in Prem 1996-2000 average gates:
24877 25693 28709 26745 24855
Giving 26176 as an average - about what 'massive' Norwich get but in a ground which holds 50% more!
Hardly massive

Forestieri reverting to type. He is a disgrace. He's been incredible tonight. Good player no doubt but completely spoils it for me his play acting, asking for yellow cards. I just want to punch him. Sincerely hope Hull beat this lot who are now neck and neck with Lids as the most arrogant set of tossers in the game.

Play-offs - the biggest disgrace the FL ever devised. Brighton battle until the last second of the season and miss out on auto on goal diff despite only losing 5 games all season. They have players suspended as a result. Wednesday rest an entire team for their last fixture and finish 15 points behind Brighton. There is no advantage given to Brighton in the play offs.

Completely agree, and I normally hate him, but he was excellent on the break tonight. That move with Hooper in the first half when they nearly scored from a 2v5 break was brilliant.

I don't think you'll find much sympathy with Brighton, that's how the play offs work, its upto Brighton to win their play off. They are the best thing to happen to the promotion shake up.

I suppose the reality is, is that the PL and the internet have spawned a new type of banter. Where previously any 'debate' would have been had by your own peer group (at school/work/pub) & been amongst people of those respective generations, we now find ourselves in a virtual free for all, where less mature fans can goad older fans in the same breath on places like this. We shouldn't hold that sort of thing against youth, it's where you get middle aged dickheads throwing their 'virtual muscle' around when they should know better... That said, glad that we shan't see Caskey on here for a while & hopefully the Tigers will see Operation Pig in humble mode...

Personally I don't agree with playoffs but they're here to stay. It would be better if the team finishing third (Brighton this year) automatically went into the final, with 4th and 5th playing each other to get to the final. If you finish 6th you don't deserve to go up, IMO, and yes, I know, Town have done exactly that.

Apart from the second leg being at home, which is seen as being a slight advantage, along with 3rd playing 6th, instead or 4th or 5th.

Agree, they should change the play off format, The team that finishes 3rd should automatically qualify for the final at Wembley, the teams that finish 5th and 6th should play each other (5th place team gets home advantage) the winners of that game play the 4th placed team away for a place in the final. It'll never happen.

I say this every year (and in this case it's not applicable), but if it's a draw after 180 minutes the team who finished higher should surely go through. This would have robbed me of the best night of my life admittedly (not in front of the wife though) ...

It's also up to Brighton to not get two of their better players suspended for, at least in the one instance, outrageously dirty play. That came back to bite them in the arse ..... ooooops

It's just a bit of a shame that they had to charge such outrageous prices and spend so much money to get to this position, rather than grow naturally. Hope it doesn't set a precedent.

its a bit of a shame an important game could have turned on what was just a really bad decision by the ref. His position means he must have seen it, the assessor will know this. A very obvious shove followed by a look from the player at the ref, knowing he was going to be penalised, its a real shocker.
At least Mr East wont be doing any of our first few matches in this division next season, he is one of the refs I dont have much sympathy for.
He could have sent Kayal off later but he would have had to wait a day or so for the wendies player to come down from the height his 'outrageous dive' took him to.
I guess if we had timekeepers stopping the clock when the ball is dead, they might still be trying to play 90 minutes of football now.. 27 minutes first half and 29 minute second half of 'football' apparently...the rest was watching 22 players standing about on a football pitch.. injury time??? its bollox to the paying public imo..
