He's wanted out for a while apparently.
Anything less than £1.5m would be poor business.

He was the best of a bad bunch and no stranger to the odd costly gaff himself. I would have liked for us to have kept him but have 2 new ctre backs better than him, and for him to fight for his place. So we now have the no7 bus and the german third division player... We need a ctre back of championship standard and experience now to carry us and not some gamble from our or overseas lower divisions.

Sad to see Lynch go. My choice for player of season despite high goals conceded. I'm sure we wold only agree his release if DW is confident of another good replacement. Good luck Lynch (except when you play Town of course!!)

Teams up with former town stopper Alex Smithies. So our loss is Rangers gain. They have two of our former players.

As for Lynch, would you keep him knowing he wants to leave & let him go for free at the end of the season, or sell him now for a decent fee & replace him?

No more of a gamble than any other player we bring in from an English lower division (or any higher division for that matter). Payne for example. Wells was also from a division below... he's done alright. Besides... you've never seen him play, so how can you judge the quality of the signing at this point? I'll betcha Wagner has.

Yes he has despite his limitations but look at the countless other cheapo signings that dont make it and the number of deadwood clearouts we have had to have, which sparked the debate quality over quantity. The problem we have had is alot of the quality has been on loan and we now have loads of players to replace and very little championship experienced ones recruited so far. I was not having a pop on this occaison i was simply stating that having lost our best defender i think we would be better off signing at least one championship standard/experienced defender.

They're all gambles though, mate (Hudson?)... big money signings or not. And wasn't Hefele voted Dresden's best player or summat? Seeing as they walked the league, he is ostensibly a Budesliga II player (or would have been if he'd stayed).

Genuinely gutted and genuinely worried about our defence if we line up with what we have now. I'm not saying that's what I expect to happen but if "lead in his boots" Hudson and the new lad are our defence next season God help us.

My theory is that the more experienced players we are all hoping and searching to join the ranks are players already in contract (possibly now just reaching one year left in contract), certainly higher value than what we've managed to bring in already but will be the highlight names to conclude our seasons new recruits..we've still got plentry of cash left to spend from our player sales..in Wagner we trust UTT

Voted 3rd best player in 3.Bundesliga, the first defender to be nominated since its inception in 2008.. Club captain of a championship winning side.. A massive fans favourite with the Dynamo faithful.. Used to playing in front of 30k+ fans.. But bollocks to all that, if terrierpark reckons he won't be up to it, what does Wagner know, eh?

Reassuring to see the regular panic merchants having meltdowns in June What about my comment did you perceive as a meltdown? I think we will bring in another CB actually. I'm just demonstrating that what we currently have minus lynch might not be enough. IF we start next season with Hudson and Hefele (and to be fair to the lad he seems a dedicated player) we start without our best defender last season and with possibly our worst and a lad who has never played in this country.

Why dont you nominate him for president then and have done ? Shall we start with a team with no championship players then? I was not slating hefele but eluding to the fact that in the present rebuilding process we are short on championship proven players. Does that not concern you at all? As others have said all signings are a gamble but when you have to assemble so many there are other factors like the old stan ternent gel factor to consider and experience in the divsion to consider.
