The best Aussie footballer since Jason Davidson and Mark Viduka.

I live in Adelaide and this lad is one I did not dare hope would appear at Town. Very good option in my humble opinion.

Another Aussie joining the Boards. Mooy is our great hope for the next world cup. Treat him well!
Came home 4 years ago after failing to get out of the Bolton youth academy.
No-one knew much about him and he signed for the brand new club Western Sydney. Integral part of their back to back Championship reigns although Shinji Ono got most of the credit for the midfield work. In the 2nd season Ono's legs were getting older and Mooy showed some great glimpses of maturity. Melbourne City took the opportunity to pay him the Australian marquee wage (salary cap league, marquee is outside the cap) and he jumped.
Has showed improvement both years at Melbourne City and finally won his way into regular NT football one of only 2 or 3 players from the domestic league to do so. Probably the only A-League player to step up from A-League to International level without a long learning curve. A late maturing midfielder he set the record for assists in the A-League last season and is a great set piece taker on top of that.
The video above is only the entree for last season's highlights.

We've never brought in a £5m player... have we? We've created a couple (Rhodes and Butterfield), and Chilwell may become one, but we've never managed to bag one, I don't think.
Says a lot that clubs like Man City, Liverpool and, dare I say, Leicester are now prepared to trust us with the development of their players. Well done Town!

I have got the feeling as well, so much so that I have put £50 @ 12/1 to get promoted and another £25 @ 40/1 to win the league. UTT Just looking to see now what odds for Nahki as top scorer I wouldn't go for nahki as top scorer As I can see us having 3 or 4 players in double figures next season utt

I think this will be one of our best signings this season. Think im going for Paurevic at the moment. Based on absolutely nothing at all I'm going for Loewe, as he sneaked in and played for better teams than others

if this is part of Mooy's learning curve...ie we are giving him coaching and matches...why are we paying him, and him not paying us..he could take out a student loan or something...

Dear me. People suggesting that he's here to keep Davidson company? Complaining he has less caps than Jason? I don't quite think they realise how much quality this lad had. What about him terrorizing England in the pre-tournament friendly? (In before hurrdurr it's only England comments). This is a coup for a club like us. As others have said, he could be playing in the Prem. Man City haven't bought a 25 year old for shits and giggles.

To be fair Any references to Davidson were probably tongue in cheek Man city probably haven't signed him with any real intentions to put him in the first team

If someone says something stupid and hilariously thick... they probably mean it.

City have taken him from their Aussie club with the intention of getting him to move into Europe.

I am sad to announce the death of nickhudd... Either that or he's actually gone to work I'm willing to chip in for a cremation, just to make sure

jeez. he looks OK. Wagner (who knows a lot more than any of us) obviously thinks he'll be OK so have a little faith.

I just pointed out he has less, which he does and the person pointed out that he is currently getting caps, whilst Davidson isn't, si I replied with "fair enough". On another thread I also pointed out to Chips (no disrespect Chips) that he wasn't released by Bolton earlier in his career and that he was young at the time and playing for a good Bolton team. I do admit though, that I wasn't sure about this signing based on his stats, but now I realise he could be a fantastic signing, like all the others we've signed. Happy day (hopefully).

"Ok, decent set pieces, no pace and never PL quality" was the summary I got from a mate who lives in Australia. For what it's worth.
Guess we'll soon see.

His stats would certainly prove he is a #10.

read somewhere he is brought in as replacement for huws. If that is the case then certainly we will try to bring in a #10 aswell?

Huws was in the defensive two, where we now have Big Ivan, Big Phil, Hogg and Whitehead. Seems odd to get another player for that position. 21 assists and 10 goals (I think) would definitely suggest #10 more likely. But have nowhere read #10, only attacking midfielder.

If his agents comments in the Examiner are to be believed they obviously havent done enough research with our squad rotation policy...
"It has to be the right club, somewhere where he will play regularly. It doesn’t have to be the sexiest club in the Championship, for instance, or the biggest club, rather somewhere where he gets match time.
"There's no point in being somewhere like (newly-relegated) Aston Villa where he might get say 10 games in a season when he could be playing for Brighton and getting 30 games."

That's just totally disrespectful to Brighton, I am pretty sure they will finish above Villa.
