In fairness to Newcastle I thought they looked a better side than Brentford. I couldn't believe that that Lascelles was their captain, thought he was the weak link in their side, Kachunga had him on toast. That's good for Kachunga, as Lascelles has always been pretty highly rated and looked very decent couple of times I've seen him.

Where are the doom and gloom brigade tonight anyway? They couldn't log in fast enough when we lost to Shrewsbury the other night. Worrying about Gestede and McCormack.

This guy thinks they should be beating Huddersfield town at home Brilliant Is that a youth detention centre...and why is he wearing a Derby rams T-shirt?

On way back to station, coloured town fan was punched by a dwarf Geordie and aggressively pushed by a middle aged Geordie who obviously had some serious growing up issues . Result a good number of very decent Newcastle fans turned on these two twats including a lady who pointed out she was filming them on her phone.Town fan uninjured and utmost respect for the 10/20 Magpies who went to his assistance and blocked these two Wankers . Cracking day in a football fanatical city. They still have apartheid in Newcastle...there is segregation of the totally thick from the mildy stupid.

Evening guys, I imagine you'll all be in a fairly good mood?! Hats off to your team today, played well and made us look like the distinctly average team we appear to be. Hope the guys who went to the game enjoyed their day and didn't get any bother from some of our lesser fans. I have to say that I was very impressed with all the Newcastle fans I met and thought the stewarding at the game was a notch above some of the shit we often see. Not sure I could cope with the 175 steps up to the away end every week, though. Stade de France and Marseille...well over 200 steps....ludicrous.

Ah yes...stats. The average person has less than two legs Exactly! Stupid, irritating, irrational, but TRUE!! Thus, did we Nick it really? More stats 1. We scored double the amount of goals than Newcastle, so we are twice as good and hammered them. 2. Our average points per game are 3 so we will just nick the league. 3. So we can never be better than average

It used to be a case of trawling through the Sunday papers, not any more. It's much more fun looking through the opposition forums when we win.Huddersfield have come on massively tbh - I think they'll be a strong team this year. Could go either way this one. Another easy 10-0 win. This will be an interesting game, I didn't see their game vs Brentford but it certainly seems Wagner is having a very positive effect on the Huddersfield players, obviously a Dortmund man he's from the same school of thought as Klopp (who wanted him as No2 at Liverpool), so whilst they've already got decent talent in Wells, apparently Joe Lolley has come on quite a bit too - pacey right winger anyone? Also Hefele is supposed to be a beast of a centre half but wait and see. We should beat them & I'd expect Gayle's pace to be important as I think we'll be playing on the break, looking to exploit a supposedly high line, I can't see them being scared of us & we'll need to be patient I imagine. I'd also like to think they crumble in front of the crowd but that rarely ever happens. No ones really interested in that shite anyway, pints and now they've got flags. Gonna have a look along if I can  (2-1 btw). You've got to admit, it would be canny funny if Huddersfield swaggered into town and turned us over. Huddersfield had more ideas going forward, looked more committed, quicker. Best side won. We only lost 4 games last time we were down here. That's 25% used up already! ( maths not his strong point) Shocking. So disappointing. Something is fundamentally wrong here. We've kept Rafa, ditched the "s***" and signed a bunch of new players with championship experience and yet we're getting beat by a poor Huddersfield side at home? What the actual f**k? I feel sick. Rome wasn't built with sh*t. I've just checked the score while stuck at work. Are we losing to Huddersfield? HUDDERSFIELD? Benitez will go by september, once he knows the game is up on promotion. We will need two years to consolidate & rebuild properly, not just in one window. shame, but the reality. And my favouriteWho's that Scottish c*nt too on Sky saying Gayles not worth 10m ( Alan McInally)? Never has an opinion on other players does he? F*ck off you cock. Being in the Championship is s***.

Right ok, an assessment.
First half excellent, we pressed well, knocked it around well without creating anything aside from striking the post, kept Newcastle quiet and took the sting out of them. To be honest Newcastle played right into our hands, they lacked any tempo and just looked so pedestrian it was untrue, they made it easy for us to dictate the pace. I think sometimes we took the wrong choice in key areas, this usually revolved around VLP but he was instrumental in the Wells goal which Wells took really well.
Second half, didn't think we played as well as we did in the first half and had to soak up a lot of pressure, which I expected, thought we became a bit ragged at times, lost possession a bit too readily and gave some daft free kicks away, Ward had already had to pull off a great save from a set piece header in the first half. Again, when we were able to go forward we were a little wasteful, making the wrong decision. Newcastle get their equalizer through a harsh handball penalty, I thought at this point they might steam roll into us but that never materialised. Enter Wagner's subs, reverting to one up front and the wingers playing deep to protect the full backs as Newcastle were starting to get a bit of joy down the wings. Then the magic moment arrives, Palmer wins the ball out wide slots it straight into Payne's path clear on goal, has the chance gone, the two Newcastle defenders recover and get in front of him but he still slots it cooly into the bottom corner, queue the pandemonium high up in the stands.
Overall a very controlled and excellent away performance at a place where not many teams will even get a point let alone all 3, chances taken when they came which makes a pleasant change from previously, good pressing, attitude and work rate. Still a few things that need ironing out, thought we became a bit ragged in the second half, maybe gave the ball away too readily, not always picking up the loose second ball and still giving away free kicks in dangerous areas, although the ref was crap. Keep it up Town.

I certainly never saw that coming.....losing at Shrewsbury then winning at Newcastle.
The latter is such a rare event. At the time of our previous victory there....1953....none of DH, DW and the entire squad had even been born. Two generations ago......the Rolling Stones were still in short pants!

Just got back What a day what a result a good performance and fantastic atmosphere from the town fans. Didn't think Newcastle were all that second half we maybe showed them a little too much respect n the pen seemed to knock the wind out of us a bit. But DW great subs n tactics n every player dug in and stuck t their jobs. Still buzzing

Keep it up Town. Pretty much exactly how I saw the game. We have had a shaky patch in both league games betwee 60 and 75 mins (Brentford scored at the end of this period and Newcastle at the beginning) but our use of subs has been excellent and dug us out of situations wher, in previous seasons, we may have drawn or lost.

9.8/10 weekend. Great away day, weekend up in the north east, ale and lots of it, a convincing town performance by every single player, a deserved late winner to make the crowd go COMPLETELY NUTS, singing along with 3200 legends for 90mins,watching datm's henry chianski ordering a pitcher of blue lagoon with a gin and tonic and baileys chaser at 11am in a Geordie weatherspoons...sometimes spending an obscene amount of money watching town away pays off...

Just back after flying over for the game and it was the best £120 I've ever spent. Anyone who watched Town last year know we were capable of that, but what was most encouraging is that we have now found a new game. We sat off and soaked up some pressure. We rode our luck a bit but didn't 'press at all costs. We held them and hit them on the break. Last year we could have lost that 4-0, no way that was going to happen yesterday. Credit for DW to go for the win despite the pressure, furthermore this man is learning fast what is required in the championship. The guy is a legend, not just because of his management skills, but for injecting an energy into the club that I've not felt since the days of Mick Buxton. People say I'm lucky to live in the sun - F**k that, I'd rather be away at Villa and home to Barnsley.

Fantastic away performance ...the Town fans that went did us proud as they alwayys seem to do...all you could hear were their songs. Playing two strikers too ....pleasent surprise from DW...demonstrating he will mix it when necessary. Good and timely substitutions and a great goal from yorkshires Messi lol jack payne

was chatting to a Newcastle fan this afternoon who unfortunately came out with the usual rubbish. When he said it was our cup final I just said we hadn't been in a cup final for donkeys years so how would we know it was one!! He really looked confused when I said we cant wait to get our injured first teamers back fit.
