Don't know if it's been posted already, probably has, but the last time Newcastle were in the championship, nobody beat them at home all season.
Great win yesterday.....

Their first home defeat AT THIS LEVEL since 1993-4 was what I read today. Can't remember where, mind you ...

9.8/10 weekend. Great away day, weekend up in the north east, ale and lots of it, a convincing town performance by every single player, a deserved late winner to make the crowd go COMPLETELY NUTS, singing along with 3200 legends for 90mins,watching datm's henry chianski ordering a pitcher of blue lagoon with a gin and tonic and baileys chaser at 11am in a Geordie weatherspoons...sometimes spending an obscene amount of money watching town away pays off... So what would make up the missing 0.2 ...a clean sheet ...free admission ...fewer roadworks on A1 Cant give a ten out of ten, especially when I think that'll be coming in the next couple of months anyway...

I'm guessing Terrierpark is out drowning his sorrows. He'll be back with vengeance if we lose at Villa. I dont think i slagged them off at all after they lost to shrewsbury. Have just got back from weekend on the coast ...but didnt miss the match listened to it on the telly on freeview radio leeds , and got the opinions of my two lads who went. Fantastic away performance ...the Town fans that went did us proud as they alwayys seem to do...all you could hear were their songs. Playing two strikers too ....pleasent surprise from DW...demonstrating he will mix it when necessary. Good and timely substitutions and a great goal from yorkshires Messi lol jack payne To be fair to Parky, he's been quite upbeat recently. It's hard not to be I suppose.

Sorry to be a massive killjoy, because Redknapp is a complete plank, but he didn't predict 6-1, he predicted 2-0, the 6-1 is from whoever used the super 6 app and took the screen shot. Sorry everyone.

Congrats to all those who travelled...awesome to hear. What a weekend it must have been!
Maybe it's been said on one of the many other threads?...I remembered hearing it on the post match interview - but this is pure Wagner Gold...says everything about him and us as a team...
“I was never a dreamer and I was always a worker - which is why I am here at this club, this is a working club. We start again tomorrow.”
Can't really add any words to that...says it all!!
Come on Town...UTT

Been watching town more or less fifty years now, been to quite a lot of away games in that time, but Saturday was by far the best I've ever been to. I worked Friday night, so only had three hours kip before setting off up there on the 9.20 train. Thought I'd be flagging a bit,but after a few drinks on the train, and a few more round Newcastle pre match I came round a bit. What a brilliant day all round it was, the atmosphere, the non stop singing, the result. I'm at work now and waiting for my Leeds utd mate to take over from me at 6.30, all it'll need is a wry smile (smirk), for the expected "fuck off" reply.. These are the days my friend.

Just watched the Ritchie post match interview - he makes two comments that stand out. They need to be able to break teams down when they come to St James' and 'park the bus' - Town didn't park the bus. The referee was poor and the second goal should have been a foul by Palmer - wrong, he out muscled a weak player. If any referring decision was marginal it was the penalty that allowed them back in the game - but obviously the interview and Ritchie both missed that one....... I didn't think you parked the bus in the 1st half but did sit very deep and hit us on the break in the 2nd half. I didn't think the ref had a bad game. You were a lot more organised than we were and like every game where we don't have to sit deep and hit teams on the break we couldn't break you down or create any clear cut chances. The only times we've done well in the past couple of seasons is when we have had very little of the ball and hit teams on the break. When the onus has been on us to attack and break down teams we haven't been able to do it which is why we got relegated and will find it hard to go straight back up.

Hayden: Newcastle are cup final for rivals - Daily Telegraph
"Isaac Hayden bemoaned another opponent raising their game for a "cup final" against Newcastle United, but if they continue to perform like this then Rafa Benitez's side will swiftly lose their status as Championship scalp."
Ah! The, "it's your cup final excuse"... again.

6-1??? what a ludicrous prediction...do you think he is like his dad and 'not good with numbers'?? I don't think he actually predicted 6-1, remember looking beforehand and sure he said either 2-1 or 3-1.. Although Dale Tempest, who in the examiner gave town a really good pre match write up , saying we were playing Newcastle at the right time and thought we'd do well, then went for 2-1 Newcastle in his super6 prediction, hypocrite.
