This is definitely one for the die-hards. Everyone who is making the trip, let's be rowdy, back the team for 90 minutes and make it a good Friday night do! Up the bloody Town! It certainly is my hideous friend and it's Paddy's day as well should be there around 2 pm and then around the wharfs TTID

Here is a post from the Bristol forum of how one of their supporters thinks the game will go, they're all pretty pessimistic about the result but thought this post was pretty funny...
1 hour ago, cityexile said: LJ will run 30 simulations on FM.
He will tell from this that Huddersfield close down quickly when not in possession giving no space, and when in possession pass the ball well, are happy to retain the ball and look for space that somebody is making a run into.
He will then apply his genius as to what eleven to pick, what formation to play, and what players he wishes to implement it. He will decide that the answer is 4-5-1, to deny them space in midfield, advising the players to not to worry to much if they are passing the ball around in front of us, but to close them down in the final third. He will be torn between Wilbs or Tammy up front.
He will send the team out, confident he has applied tactical nous to maximise our chances.
The whistle will then go for the start if the match.
It will then become apparent that we are completely crap playing this way. No player will be entirely sure what their role is, as it will be the sixth formation, and fourth position that player has played in over the past few weeks, having seemingly been out of favour for a month, No one will get ahead of the ball making runs, as they are all seek to remember their precise instructions for this match. We will get no space, and will lump the ball forward to an isolated Tammy, who was chosen in the end, who can make nothing of it.
We go in at half time 2-0 down having been completely out played. Huddersfield have been retaining possession as if it was a training match finding space at will, each knowing each other's role.
LJ is not happy at half time. Did no one watch the FM simulations? Much against his better judgement, he moves stuff around at half time, bringing on some more attacking options, and tells the team just to go for it.
After the break, Huddersfield miss a few good chances to put the game to bed, but slowly we start to get more in to it. Wilbs, who has now been brought on, starts to link up better with Tammy, we start getting the odd chance, as do they but suddenly with 15 to go, it is 1-2. We push for the equaliser, but it's not to be.
LJ after the match comments that it is thin lines, and that we were unlucky not to get something, despite being outplayed for 70 minutes. Meanwhile he is thinking there were at least two players who did not follow his instructions for this match to the letter and will need now resting for a month. He will make some comment about having learned a lot about some of his players today, and that some clearly do not have the energy and fight needed.
He will crank up his FM and gets to work on the next match.

Bristol City are down there and therefore need points ASAP to avoid the drop. They will be doing everything to get at least a point from this game, it won't be easy.
Traditionally the top sides jitter towards the end of the season and the team's at the bottom show their best form over the campaign.

This really is a massive game for us and it's our first real chance to put psychological pressure on the top 2 imo. A win and we are 3 points behind them both.
Brighton are at Leeds on Saturday and Newcastle are at Birmingham neither will be easy. Leeds won't be in any mood for doing town 'a favour' but if Fulham have crept into the play offs after winning their midweek game against Blackburn then it puts pressure on Leeds to get a win.

this is another good post from Bristols forum.
'A tactical battle between Wagner and Johnson... Oh dear. On the surface it feels a bit like putting the mongol hoardes at their peak against a coop of blind one legged chickens. But the beauty of football is that you just never know'

So that's 1300 already! Astounding, even within the context of this fantastic season. Just checked football ground guide and seen that 2500 away fans can be accommodated at Bristol City's ground, so room for even more if the allocation is extended. Great effort to all those going!

Morning chaps, City fan here. Enjoy the trip down, it's a run I know very well so stay safe. Be aware the M42 has a load of roadworks where it meets the M5 and there are roadworks most of the way down the M5 from there so add a fair bit of time if you're driving. The other thing is we are putting a metrobus system in the city which is causing gridlock. Bristol traffic is notoriously bad anyway but it's even worse at the moment. Don't go through the city if I were you. Stay on the M5 and come off at Avonmouth and follow the A4 in under the suspension bridge or come of at Portishead (next junction) and come in on the A369. that brings you to Bedminster cricket club which is handy for parking. Parking around the ground is crap, absolutely awful unless you're very early in which case beware of the RPZ signs (resident only parking zones). We will roll over and let you tickle our bellies as our buffoon of a head coach has no idea what he's doing and the players look bewildered at times. Individually, we have, as mentioned, a good squad but when your manager has the tactical nouse of a blancmange (with all respect to blancmanges) it's never going to end well. Fulham breezed past us without breaking sweat (good side are Fulham) and I expect you to do the same. 0-3 I would guess although we might get 1. Enjoy the stadium, it's all finished now and it is impressive. At least we have done 1 thing right I suppose. Have a safe journey and enjoy the 3 points.

Wont be as easy as you think, we are expecting a difficult game with you scrapping at the bottom, hopefully we get at you early doors and have the game won without making us bite our nails for the last 20! do hope you stay up though proper decent club and have enjoyed my previous visits down! all the best (after Friday of course )

I certainly would not give up anytime soon..Blackburn are capable of getting out or going down in equal measure as well.. We have been in your position a couple of times very, very recently so there is no billy big time here.. We are just enjoying the ride..(you never know how long it will last)..

Don't get me wrong, we haven't given up, we (the vast majority) have zero faith in Johnson. He is stupidly out of his depth at this level and it shows. We might well stay up but that would mean he survives into next season and it would be in spite of him rather than because of him, he's hopeless! He's spent £14M (I think) on players and doesn't use them. We hope we will survive but it's going to be close and this is not one of the games we are expecting points in so anything we get is a bonus. You're an impressive side and I reckon you might push Newcastle close for the 2nd promotion spot with Brighton.

I had you down for playoffs at the start of the season.

What's happened to Paterson - doesn't like a relegation battle?

Bit random but can anyone recommend where to catch the game in Cape Town? Know there's a few international terriers on here. It's live on DSTV (SA's version of Sky) pretty much anywhere in English speaking Africa. Supersport 7 is the channel. Find a bar with DSTV and ask nicely!
