Well, that's me buggered then - I won't be at the Middlesbrough game. I'll probably manage to ask someone to get me one though. Thanks for flagging them up.

Very exciting news for Nickhudd, starved of town cards now we are not a snobby prem team.

I've just acquired two Australian cards. Not recent - both released in February 2018. As usual the 'Silver' parallel card hasn't scanned at all well! I have another one coming in the post any day now... Also... Another Indian variation of the Topps 2018 set. This one is the PRO11 'insert' card which allowed one to go online and play to win a bonus card of a player, unavailable anywhere else. This Indian version replaces the player picture with a silhouette and has become a scratch card on the back.

Yes, that’s the one, has what looks like Trevor Cherry challenging a keeper on it with Huddersfield Town in white letters. Zips knackered though so need to find somewhere that fixes zips on stuff. Must admit, I can’t remember seeing these bags back in the day, I had a Liverpool one!

“Do you remember the feeling you used to get, poring over the glossy pages of your mum’s mail-order catalogue, craving new football kit, cool games and hot tech?" I remember that feeling very well as a 9 year old but it wasn't craving new football kit, cool games or hot tech

Special offer! These are spare cards - anybody want them? £10 the lot with free postage or I will split them if required. The first three are all from the 2018 TOPPS Premier Gold 2107/18 set, varying levels (white=base, green=3rd level, yellow=4th, level and by far the hardest to find) This Mooy one is from TOPPS (USA) ‘On Demand – Set 5 – Premier League Inspired by ’77 Footballer series’ and is very hard to get as it is part of an expensive set. Private message me if you're interested.

They're here! In addition the Schindler card has a metal foil effect on the zig-zag pattern at the right edge and the c-rest at bottom left, neither of which scan properly. It is also made of a different material – a more velvety feel – exactly the same as the cover of the matchday programme whereas the Bacuna - and future releases? - are made of standard card and are a slightly darker tone. I'm presuming that Nick has his collection up and running too

CALTEX / TAP’N’PLAY TECHNOLOGIES (Australia) 2018 Caltex Socceroos Trading Cards 22 base cards + 21 ‘chase’ cards 13. Aaron MooyIn May of 2018 came yet another set of cards from Australia, this time focusing on just the men representing them in the World Cup. As well as appearing in the ‘base’ cards, Mooy also featured as one of eight ‘Caltex Socceroos Stars’ which were available in a 1:6 packet ratio.

The Bacuna one flew out of the shops on Saturday (was told there were only 500 available so you had to be quick). Nice to see the club offering these for free as the last two seasons has enabled collectors to get hold of these sorts of cards as they make them for the PL but not the EFL. Think there will be one or two taken down to the signing tomorrow evening as it’s these two players - was that some forethought by the club 😉

Yes, I agree with your sentiments, Richard. As I've said before, the moment when we dropped out of the Greedy League signalled the end of any interest in us from the "big" card producers, so these really are a boon to collectors. 500 sounds a worryingly small number; I won't always be able to get to the shop as early as I did on Saturday!

Doing the conspiracy theory thing...
Can we read into anything with regard to the player cards that are being release and possible staying for the season as would they put something of this nature out there if the players were going?
Currently we have Christopher Schindler, Junhino Bacuna, Jaden Brown and Karlan Grant; all players we’re expecting to be here after January. It will be interesting to see the next few releases up to the end of the January transfer window - probably Hogg, Kachunga, Campbell, Simpson. But anyone with the possibility of them going, doubt we’ll see one.

Currently we have Christopher Schindler, Junhino Bacuna, Jaden Brown and Karlan Grant; all players we’re expecting to be here after January. It will be interesting to see the next few releases up to the end of the January transfer window - probably Hogg, Kachunga, Campbell, Wilson. But anyone with the possibility of them going, doubt we’ll see one. Until the issue of Grant, I suspected that the release was going to be Skipper, and then squad alphabetical or first team alphabetical. I'd have had money on the next card being one of Reece Brown or Campbell, but Grant blew that theory out of the water. Predicting the next will be as easy as predicting the line-up for the game!
