First come first served. Everyone who wanted one would have got a ticket. Tickets would have sold out after 2 or 3 days .. hours of admin time would have been saved . Job done
The last week has been a good illustration of what happens if you complicate things .. admin workers ringing round trying to get rid of tickets while hundreds of p4s who have followed town away for years sit about twiddling their thumbs

I suspect they don't need to do much with how the ballot works, on this occasion it would seem putting the system in place has left them with limited time to sell tickets. For West Ham I think tickets will be released earlier For example Mon 14th P1 Tues 15th P2 Wed 16th P3 Thurs 17th P4 Fri 18th P5 Sat 19th Ballot Close the ballot on the following Monday and let everyone know by the end of that week leaving just over 2 weeks to get transport organised.
Or is that just too simple

If you want some priority go P1/P2/P3 14th &15th, P4/P5 16th/17th, General sale 18th, No ballot

I've just been phoned up by the Ticket Office and offered tickets, through the ballot. I'm picking them up at the Palace ticket office. So, it's apparently not too late. Not all the 3,000 tickets have been taken up, but they should all be sold this evening. I'm surprised and pleased.

Or is that just too simple Not too simple, but could be even simpler. Where it's clear we won't sell out they could group Priorities together, e.g. Day 1 - P1, 2 and 3 Day 2 - P4 and 5 Day 3 - General sale. The fact that the system allows for a ballot doesn't necessarily mean we need to have one in my view. The quicker the tickets are sold, the less strain on the ticket office team and more time for people to fix transport.

Sounds like the ballot hasn't worked as they expected. Think a dedicated line from day one selling tickets to non priority folk. Give it a couple of days and if they don't sell stick them into the priority system.

I thought the ballot was seen as a good move?? maybe needs applications in on the first day of ticket sales, maybe needs email notifications, but a good thing in itself?? the hundreds of p4s could have simply bought tickets??? there were some left, not complicated.. thankfully it wont happen for the big games.. this wasnt big enough for some p1s or some p4s apparently.. the 2170 hardcore away from whatever bloody group should easily have obtained tickets

I think the p4s had about 5 minutes before they all sold out.. it's too convoluted imo... First come first serve like in ANY OTHER BUSINESS imo ...anyway I'm going.. I'll be in Camden Saturday night singing "free the Nick one " if anyone wants a beer

I'll be in Camden Saturday night singing "free the Nick one " if anyone wants a beer You will have to point out or find where anyone said P1 meant they were ALL avid away supporters, its just not true..It was always accepted that the priority was given for reasons other than a load of away day stories.. you told me yourself why I and others were 'given that status'... the priority wasnt and still isnt aimed at all the matches just certain ones, which has been stated on here till the cows come home.. the club will get better with allocating the tickets.. my business is not first come first served, a huge amount are not....been to cuba and the best eateries are bookings only and you pay 'extra' to book? ? first come, highest payer gets in...good tipping also gets you a lot of 'priority'.....even in the dream socialist state 'priority' is money... the p1s will take all the tickets for certain games, you and I know this and thats why it was introduced.. thats why you and others are annoyed in reality.. The other fact is we are a well supported away club not a huge away support club.. its likely to be better but not huge again this season, it is what it is.. lets see, might well be a factor in the allocation next year if we are still here..??

Don't need to do the ballot before the priority allocations otherwise people from p1 etc will panic and apply for ballot. Just need to get tickets on sale earlier and then find a more effective way of completing the ballot transactions.

Just need to get tickets on sale earlier and then find a more effective way of completing the ballot transactions. Surely it would be easier if they had a way of linking the ballot to the online ticketing, you apply through there and put in your card details, if you are successful the money gets taken immediately and email confirmation with tickets sent out in the post. Saves the ticket office spending ages chasing people for payment
