I used to get really annoyed/upset if England lost in a big tournament. Probably the last one was Euro 2004, I remember being in the Warehouse when we cocked that penalty shootout up and being absolutely gutted.
I still like to see us do well but I can't raise that same level of enthusiasm these days. England are just so BORING.

Ha ha yes, you are of course totally correct and, despite my current apathy, when it starts I'll be digging out my England underpants and socks and getting down the pub at whatever time and cheering on the lads. I will though, save some energy for Aaron, and our lads on the bench for Denmark and hopefully Belgium. Still pissed off that Danny Williams won't be there. That's the spirit! I wonder if there is a chance Schindler could be there? I hope so. He certainly won't look out of place if he does make it.

Why worry about it. Maybe we would be better off in a tough group for a change. I'm looking forward to how we get on in Russia. Think Southgate has gone the right way in favouring youth and hope he sticks with it. Like the new formation as well with Stones and McGuire playing it out from the back and pushing up into and through midfield. Sure McGuire might get turned by any attacker in the competition but the better forwards are capable of doing that to most centre halves anyway. We have as good a chance as progressing as most in pots 1-3 and teams often develop during the competitions. England were given not much chance in 66! Italy, Uruguay and group winners Costa Rica. last time ?? I didn't mind that - decent teams, but point taken. Remember back to the first few minutes and Stirling hit a brilliant rocket shot that I thought had gone in. I was off my feet - but it was in the side netting. Then did Darmian, who has not hit a decent cross since, hit the cross of his life for a Balotelli header! Agh - it's all coming back to me. Then the biter bit. Fortunately can't remember Costa Rica!

This ... some of my happiest moments were spent cheering on the national team in places like the court house in huddersfield .. but it’s just become so shit . Euro 2016 felt like the final straw to me ...but no doubt if we get to the quarters and skinner and baddiel bring out a 22nd anniversary edition of three lions I’ll be back in the boozer cheering us on .. unless of course the bald pirlo is in opposition

England comes first, Town second. It always has and always will. I was born English and became a Town fan when I was 5. I love my country, I love the national team? Does Englands lack of quality in tournaments annoy me? Yes, but it's still my country just like town is my club. Club before country for me every time.

Poland Iran and Saudi Arabia would be our (England’s) only chance of making progress. Not possible, UEFA is the only confederation which can have 2 teams in the same group. Iran and Saudi Arabia are both in the Asian section.

The closure of some fine establishments, couples with years of underperformance set in the apathy somewhat for me. Courthouse, livingstones and blob shop were some of the very best for atmosphere. Sadly they closed and the team went poor. Huddersfield is missing a top multi screened sports bar.

As an Aussie, I'd love for Australia to be in the same group as the poms. I'd love it too, it's about our only chance of an easy 3 points before we come back home 🦁🦁🦁 I will elaborate; I don't think drawing england will ensure an easy 3 points, I just think it would be a great occasion for two sporting rivals to face each other in a competitive fixture. I'm not sure that has ever occurred

Can we just get in as close to an old 'group of death' as possible under the current format so that we have a ready made excuse when we choke at the critical stages again.
