The draw for Russia will happen in 2 weeks, but all the qualification is done now - and here are the pots:
Pot A: Russia, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland, France
Pot B: Spain, Switzerland, England, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Croatia, Peru
Pot C: Iceland, Costa Rica, Sweden, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Iran, Denmark
Pot D: Nigeria, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Serbia
Some funny ones in there. Not sure why Spain are only in Pot B - and how a European team (Serbia) managed to fall to Pot D!
So who does everyone want then?

Pot C scares the shit out of me. We're doomed I tell you, doomed if we get Iceland or Costa Rica.

So it seems as though the pots are determined 100% by the FIFA rankings. I thought there may be a bit more to it than that, but its purely ranking. So that explains how its thrown up some strange ones. The rankings are deeply flawed!

Poland Iran and Saudi Arabia would be our (England’s) only chance of making progress.

but weve got Jordan Henderson this should be easy... Id like Iceland again surely we could put the record right also Russia and Panama dont forget "there are no easy games at this level" and ".....(whoever we draw from pot c or d) are a very dangerous team "

The fact that that teams from the same confederation can't be drawn together (except UEFA) means our chances of getting Brazil or Argentina are increased, as Peru, Columbia and Uruguay have to avoid them.

I'd feel more confident if Lossl, Zanka, Williams, Mooy, Van La Parra, Mounié and Depoitre were available for selection for England, with Herr Wagner at the helm.
Or, in other words, we'd shit on the Southgate-managed England

They are indeed. Sweden and Denmark are good.
I wonder if that's registered with Southgate yet? Yes you f-kin dipstick, you're going to have to find a couple more gears within 9 months. You took the f-kin job, wakey wakey.

You took the f-kin job, wakey wakey. Has he really done such a poor job? How many ways can you polish a turd? That’s not to say that I think England are shit - but they’re not Germany or Brazil. There’s only so much you can do! I mean, you always get out the group but rarely any further. A QF place is top 8 which if you’re honest you’re probably not amongst the best 8 teams. Regular Ro16 is probably your natural level with occasional QFs and beyond if things go well. If England are about 10-12 in the world regularly then that’s probably about right! Having said that, with Argentina being quite poor and no Italy that leaves a bit of an opening for a team like England - but of course much depends on the draw. You could dominate the group and then face Germany in the next round!

Let's reconvene after the draw. I would love to support England, but I'm happy that, despite the US going out, I'll have other countries to support.
You should be reasonably happy. Oz looked pretty good yesterday.

I hold little hope for Australia. I’ll enjoy the tournament, no doubt - but I’m not expecting much.

As an Aussie, I'd love for Australia to be in the same group as the poms. As a pom, so would i. Whilst I don't have any real expectations of this group of england players, there aren't many teams there that i think we would almost certainly lose against. Brazil, Germany, Spain.. maybe Belgium ( though they also tend to massively underachieve in finals too ) other than that, theres a few who are on a similar level so could go either way and the rest id expect us to beat. If we have our key players fit and on form, theres no reason why even this england side wouldn't get to the quarters, and from there anything can happen.

Best outcome for group - Poland, England, Iran, Panama. Win the group then probably get knocked out against Sweden/Iceland/Serbia Worst outcome for group - Germany, England, Costa Rica, Nigeria. Possibly finish second in group then probably get knocked out against Sweden/Iceland/Serbia

I can't believe some of the nonsense I'm reading on here. England will never be successful when the nation has this attitude towards the national team. Do you think other national sides have to put up with a nation who claim they can't abide them? Some of the guff that is put on here and social media is just embarrassing. Imagine the difference it would make if a team went out knowing they had people actually behind them.
