He works hard and seems to me to be a player in need of confidence. Hopefully today gives him a bit of a lift which helps him to be the player I hoped he would be.
Separate note - I liked his interview

Jury's still out for me - don't get me wrong, he scored a huge goal today and if that keeps us up he'll have paid back his transfer fee and wages, however but it doesn't take away from the fact he's been bang average all season.

Well I called him a passenger last week, but that's because he was a passenger last week. I also wished for him to get some luck this week and the rest of the season.
Can I get nominated for summat .....? Come on Tom lad, another two next week.

Always works hard, just seems to go to pieces around the box.
Very happy for him to get the winner today

Ince has been lacking confidence all season , but could his PRICELESS GOAL against Watford be his and towns turning point at just the right time
Another point could be enough especially looking at Southampton and Brightons very hard run in.
Point or points against both Everton or Arsenal at home arn't out of the question

Point or points against both Everton or Arsenal at home arn't out of the question We all thought the Stoke goal would be his turning point. Fair play to the lad for getting into position and finishing it off in such a high pressure situation. Hopefully he’ll have a right go these last few games if he gets his chance.

I said to those around me it was set up for him to come on, replace Big Col and bag the winner after all the comments about his below average season so far on this forum. A massive goal in a game going nowhere fast, its up to him to use this positivity over the next month, interesting on Radio Weeds Lpost match Hughesy' interview made a point to say Tom was incredibly popular withinin the group and changing room so perhaps so of the flack on here has filtered down to the squad and coaching staff.
A real shout out to Zanka ( the whole back line too) who handled their forwards & pace superbly today and had the balls to stay up with play and find that vital touch to lay it on plate to take us ever so close to the finishing line. A point V Everton, with all the other games to be played before then just might do it.
Winner on the National too, Oh what a night !

Really hope he can kick on. Not convinced he’ll prove to be worth anywhere close to what we paid but I would love to be proved wrong.

The direct route to goal.

He has the ability at this level, he changed the game when he came on, add to that Billings long throws into the box - plan B worked! Great management and great teamwork and well done Tom Ince

Delighted for him because he works bloody hard though and all credit to him for getting himself in to that position to tap home.

A few minutes earlier me and my mates were wondering if by a miracle we stayed up, do we cut our losses on him in the summer and get shut? And then, what d'ya know?! He only goes and scores that miracle goal. It's a funny owd game.

Can I get nominated for summat .....? Come on Tom lad, another two next week. Don't think he was a passenger at Brighton tbh. Just the perils of being a wide man. If play doesn't go down your side you have little chance of getting in the game. If one wide man is having a blinder could mean 70% of wide play goes down your side, then ipso facto only 30% can go down the other side. Our system mitigates that to some extent because our wide men don't really play as wide men in the normal winger sense.

Got in to a great position when Pritchard pulled one back but unfortunately his shot was blocked. He was in the right spot in the box when folk complain we don't get enough players in the box, and one of them might of ensured £100 + million in the bank.

Not sure if it was pre-planned or worked out as we went along.

I know and as I said, full credit to him for getting himself in there again at the end. Its easy to stop making those runs when things aren't quite going for you, but he didn't and got his reward.

Not sure if it was pre-planned or worked out as we went along. Yup, made a difference adding Billing to the mix in the middle and pushing Pritchard wider too. Kind of thought we'd settled and were shoring up to protect the point with Billing, Hogg and Mooy on the field at the same time, but it actually resulted in much more forward play. I don't think we (or Mounie) has quite worked out with Pritchard in the 10, so it may be a decent attacking set up if VLP is always likely to fade and we don't really want to be carrying Quaner or Ince for a full 90 minutes.

Great management and great teamwork and well done Tom Ince Mentioned it at the time - it gave us another attacking dimension which we haven't had the option of recently. Billing got the opportunity quite a few times to launch one into the box, and although nothing came from it directly, it gave us additional possibilities. I though all three substitutes came on at the right times, for the right players and made a significant difference at crucial times.

Apart from the early rush with Flo down the right, the longer ball caused them more problems than any of our other attacking ploys. i said this to the guy net to me later in 1st half. Their defence left acres behind them , and too far for their keeper to come out..Mounie' is always making little forages into that space but the ball seldom arrives. It's not hoof, or long ball but we saw Kongolo do it in the 91st minute and bingo. One thing it also does is cause their defenders to drop back a bit, giving us more attacking space...don't know why DW doesn't seem to like it, maybe not pure enough for him perhaps ?

Think Pritchard is doing well but we are clearly missing someone like Palmer/Brown who could pick the ball up around half way, turn and make a power run towards the oppos box. We have little in the way of linking and power running forward from midfield apart from VLP's efforts on the left side. So I was encouraged that Pritchard could fill another role out widish maybe in the current system or a 4-3-3.

Not sure the long ball caused their defenders too much problem to be honest - they handled it pretty comfortably all the game. Finding Flo out wide caused them most problems or got us into better positions which we failed to take advantage of. I think Kongolo would have lobbed that ball forward no matter what tactics or system we were playing on the day - wasn't part of any tactic/plan though. Glad he did! He is decent going forward Kongolo - put in one glorious left foot cross but no one on the end of it.

We miss a Palmer/Brown type player so much. Kasey really looked like he was going to be a key player for us in those first few games before he picked up an injury with England u21s.
