The end justified the means, but there is no way in hell that was an 'entertaining' season. Tell me the entertaining seasons you have had What does that have to do with anything?

The question really should be; What price stability? That is what you are getting with DW and also you are getting someone who is ambitious and wants to improve. I don't believe for one second that if he thought he couldn't improve the team and himself he would stay at Town, irrespective of the pay cheque. Next season we have to improve. We need better quality in the squad. I am absolutely certain all concerned are completely aware of this. I expect some changes in the playing squad and an attempt to make us better. I am not deluded to think we won't be fighting relegation again but I hope that that fight will be a little bit easier than this time round. Every season we stay at this level is priceless, the riches are such. The trick is to maintain stability, continue to improve on and off the pitch and keep the positive momentum. The last two years have given us a platform from which to build, it is an opportunity we must take. Keeping DW is worth every penny for the stability and clear focus he brings. The rest of the club have to catch up with him, if they do this club will have moved further forward than it has for 5 generations. I think that’s why all the rhetoric coming out of the club is about the potential to grow and the next steps etc... We know that Wagner is ambitious and IMO there’s been a shift since the end of the season from “we can’t compete” to the “this is a project”, “we want to keep taking the next step” etc... It’s not only an opportunity for us to genuinely develop (carefully) but it’s clear that Wagner wants to build something and we are loosening the reins slightly to allow us both to go for those steps together

Tell me the entertaining seasons you have had What does that have to do with anything? I’m just trying to gauge what levels of entertainment you are looking for .. have there been seasons past where you have felt entertained ? Or are you one of those fans who goes out of habit /loyalty etc ? If my criteria when picking a football club ( though for me it’s about being born. Into it not choosing ) was “to be entertained “ , I’d now be supporting probably liverpool or Man Utd .. much of my 40 years watching Town has been pretty grim .. I wouldn’t say that about this season .. some poor displays yes , some occasions when I’d wished they had been more attacking , maybe .. but absolutely it was entertaining . Every game has been an event .. it’s been brilliant .. I hate losing and if we lose I come away gutted .. just like I did when we were getting pumped by Yeovil .. but for me the season as a whole has been entertaining . I’m at the age now that if I wasn’t entertained I’d probably take up another hobby . So do you want to answer my question ?

I was entertained . Great season . One of the best ever If you found out football entertaining then you are easily pleased! Like I say, he produced the goods but some of the football we played was very poor. If we work on our attack then happy days. Some of the football we played was poor. You do realise what we’re up against in the premier league though don’t you? A wage bill less than half the next lowest and the weakest squad in the division. Football is not played in a vacuum. Sometimes we play shit because the other team are better than us and force us to play shit. We clearly need to improve how we attack, get better wingers in and be more of a goal threat, but let’s be realistic about the challenges we face.

Those seasons stand out more than any others in my memory. Attacking football, ever improving attendances, proper raucous atmosphere, football specials...I thought it was always going to be like this.
Like those FA cup finals in the 70s always played on scorching Saturday afternoons, I remember them all. I went out on my bike half way during the one last week, and can't remember anything about the year before..

But the Liverpool and Chelsea games, in particular, were disappointing though. Not because Town were completely outplayed, they were v Spurs but I still enjoyed that one, but the team seemed set up not to even try and win it.

If I want to be entertained I would take the missus to the theatre or the circus.
Seriously, entertainment is a strange one, I guess the higher up the echelons we progress, the more likely it is we will not be able to compete by displaying a strong attacking philosophy. If we were in League 1 then yes we could play all out attacking football, and entertain the masses, still no guarantee though we would win 'owt.
Can we just pause for a minute, and reflect where we are now, and where we have come from. We have just survived our first season back in the top flight, we took a point in each of the final two away games at Manchester City and Chelsea in the last week of the season. It might be a perverse definition of "entertainment" seeing as it was inches away from cacking one's pants, but if you weren't absolutely gripped by the enormity of what was at stake in all that, then perhaps a five goal league 1 thriller in our last meaningless match against Gillingham or such might have suited better !

Let’s be honest when Wagner became manager who would not have taken finishing in the top six in his first full season? Here we are now playing some of the best teams in the world for a second season and some on here complain of not being entertained! I have watched the Town for sixty years, and believe me this is the best yet. We all have to be patient and hope Wagner can add the next level of players to push us on next season.

No this season hasn't been grim, but I don't agree that every match has felt like an event, and for a large part of the season the football as an entertainment/attacking spectacle has been sorely lacking. The PL as an 'experience' has so far been an extremely disappointing one, it is far too sanitized and disconnected, and with the exception of a handful of teams, the football played across the division has been pretty underwhelming. As spectacle of entertainment, last season cannot be touched (not by anything in this generation anyway) there were too many highlights to mention, this season has been a drudge by comparison. That's not to detract anything from what is an incredible achievement however, and yes in parts it was extremely exciting, but there were plenty of periods where it was anything but.

I would have been entertained in quite a few of the defeats if we had looked more like we had the intention to try and win em..
we were not outplayed in many games, the other team hardly turned up either but just did enough to take advantage of our errors and the fact we had nothing in return..
Its the premier league and every game is a big one.. Man City etc are no more important to us than southampton etc, probably less so in the big scheme of things..
we may have more riding on the games against the lower end if truth be told.. We rarely treated the top 6 games as one to go out and enjoy and have a good go at and we were even less 'forward' in many games against those outside the top 6..
Not looking to be entertained by free flowing, fast, high scoring football week in week out, just a bit more urgency more often...
hopefully that starts next season..difficult to argue much with our first season given the means did justify the ends, fact...

I don’t really have truck with “loyalty “ I’ll always love Town but not guaranteed to keep watching .. it’s a life choice remember the days watching under Wadsworth or Supermac just going in hoping we could scrape a draw, or at least put in a performance. We're a long way from that now, although granted the class of opposition has changed considerably.

On the subject of Wagner’s learning curve - prior to the of January we lost by 3 or more goals on 7 occasions. Thereafter, not for the rest of the season. It might be argued that this is simply down to the arrival of Kongolo the Magnificent but I think it’s more than that and evidence of improvement after the first few months.
The last such loss was to Liverpool.

Listen mate I can tel you now .. expectations next season will be higher ... outcomes could well be similar .. if you can’t suck on that reality then I really don’t know what to suggest
