I'm still sweating over Derby's record low points tally, where on Earth will that win come from (or two free of course).

Mounié to be back. A change in the system needed for me. They’ll play 1 up top so we don’t need 3 centre backs and Hogg sitting in front of them. We need to revert to a flat back 4 with the width coming from inside forwards, not full backs OR drop the excellent Hogg to play Mbenza as a 2nd striker. I’d go: Lossl Kongolo Schindler Zanka Durm Hogg Billing Bacuna Mbenza Pritchard Mounié Yeah we don't need 3 centre backs, but what is Wagner going to do? The same he does every game of course - 3 centre backs, 3 defensive midfielders and 2 wing backs who will spend the entire game running up and down and crossing the ball into nobody because the only 2 attacking players we have on the pitch will also be involved in defending and nowhere near the opposition box. It's becoming a regular occurrence and a pre-written script of controlling the game, playing well but not creating any meaningful chances, which results in no goals and our players getting tired before we concede and then lose. If Wagner doesn't play 4-2-3-1 against Saints it'll go the exact same way as Newcastle. No need to even create a match thread, just rename any of the previous game threads.

The sad thing watching the Saints game earlier is what a different season it might be if we had an Austin or a Ings up top.
Or in fact any striker who could score.
It's laughable that neither have scored - complete joke.

Saints may not have Redmond fit, and he was their best attacker today. Their defensive weaknesses are primarily their full backs. So (forgive me) Town should target Targett! Having said that, their central defence makes mistakes, but fewer since the dreadful Hoedt was dropped. The best midfielder is Lemina, but he will probably be unfit. So, if Town play a high pressing game it would be good to try to get Romeu and Hojbjerg (a good player, but error-prone) to panic, make errors and get booked.
Saints are at their most dangerous from crosses, so if we prevent them, we should be OK.
....err - provided we score!!

Ironically this club needs the Wagner who breezed through the door when Powell got the chop back.
Our squad was crap (Davidson for one) but we pressed the life out of everyone. It was absolute chaos, half the time we were either 2-0 up or 2-0 down in twenty minutes.
We need a big change against Southampton. Get back to 4-2-3-1 and get the hell after them. Stop worrying about controlling the game, transition the ball quicker and give the crowd something to cheer.
Yesterday was a waste of time. No point keeping the ball when you never look a threat.

Can’t see us getting anything next week, lolo, mounie, who ever he plays up front doesn’t matter, it will be the same old huff and puff as yesterday. Can only see another defeat. 2nd season in premier league, and we need to strengthen, I don’t think we will. Last time we were in the top division we was in the same position, we didn’t spend and and spiralled down the leagues, it’s took over 40 years to get back, hope it doesn’t take as long to get back again.😉

One thing we have to do against Saints is play with pace even if it mean less possession because all that possession did us no good against Newcastle UTT

I wouldn't have either him or Depoitre upfront - I'd rather see someone like Kachunga or Colin have a pop - that's how ridiculous the situation now is. The REAL measure of just how bad it has become was the fact that Quaner - who doesn't even have a squad number - was on the bench ahead of RVLP and big money signing Diakhaby yesterday. How poor must they both be? I'd love to know what's going on at Town - obviously something's amiss and perhaps we'll never know. I thought/hoped we'd never see Quaner in a Town first team again but now it would at least show we're aware that changes are needed. As someone above said our rivals Southampton have scored as many goals in one match, against unbeaten Arsenal, as we have at home all season.

We should have strengthened in the summer, in fact we weakend ourselves letting Ince and Malone go and brought in sobhi and Diakhaby. Colin I don't have a squad number Quaner getting in ahead of Diakhaby.

I really believe that Town's transfer actions in the early days of January could decide our future for years to come.

Won't be easy but this is a game to show our resolution and battle through.
I also hope Charlie Austin gets the reception he deserves after his cowardly challenge on Jonas last year.

We need a big reaction from the players on Saturday. The Newcastle performance, particularly the second half, was unacceptable. Unless Mounie comes back with a point to prove & starts banging them in I just can't see where the goals will come from in these vital games. We played with 5 defenders & 3 holding midfielders at home against a relegation rival on Saturday which says it all really.

It’s time to try something different Durm was a striker put him and Kachunga up front and I think the fans deserve to know really why VLP or Diakaby are not given a go at the moment we are playing with a centre forward but no winger!!! We need to get nasty as well when Newcastle defender made the scissor tackle we should have surrounded the ref telling him how bad the tackle was if Hoggy had made the same tackle he would have been off

We might as well start planning for life in the Championship. I’d prefer Hoyle to splash out next month, but can’t see him doing that, even though it’s gotta be worth 100 mill for the club to stay up another season, it’s an easy biz case to make to spend on strikers, but Hoyle will probably consolidate. Consolidate exactly what?

This board has lost its fucking mind over the last 24h...
How about we just get up for the game and let's hope we start to turn our season round...
If it carries on we might as well see if the Samaritans would consider shirt sponsorship for next season?...

Miles better than the 3 wingers we've brought in. Could he? What did he ever do there? Jack-shit is what he did. Swapping Ince for Diakhaby-Mbenza....questionable. But if you think it was better to have Malone in the squad in preference to Durm you need professional help.

The main difference is that we've spent 3 years playing above our actual ability and it was unsustainable. Saints have spent 2 years playing massively below their actual ability under the management of clowns. Absolutely- looking at the respective squads it is incredible that we have spent so much time above them in the league during the last year or so. I find it ridiculous that some on here think we can match them - if they had had a decent manager in the last year, they’d be miles above us.

I don't understand why they are so poor. Look at us Mounie and Depoitre, both crap. They have Austin, Ings, Gabiadini and LONG all fairly decent and would get in ahead of our strikers. Redmond has just come off hope he's out at the weekend. Would that be Shane Long, 5 goals and 3 assists in his last 72 appearances? He'd fit right in here.

If we score more than two goals in a game I'll paint the Leeds statue blue and white.
If either Mounie or Depotrie score a goal this month I'll give my £100 bet winnings to charity.
I really hope any of the above bites me in the arse, I really do.

Simple really,if we perform like yesterday and southampton perform like today then its another loss.We play like a top ten team in a lot of games but as we all know we cant fooking score its relegation stats end of,how is it fixed well we are 5 months into this season and absolutely no improvement in the one area that lets us down week in week out.It can be talked about till we are all blue in the fucking face it doesnt matter what we fans say, write or think it aint gonna change now or in january because by then we will be up the shit creek without a paddle.Stay positive and hope things turn around, yes please we all want that ffs, realistacally its not gonna happen its too little too late so enjoy the rest of the ride and what will be will be.UTT

I'd love a win but second best would be Lossl (accidentally) punching Austin's head away instead of the ball.
