I’m pretty sure I’ve seen us beat them 5-1 both at home and away (1995 and 1990 respectively)? Quite possibly but I don’t remember the 1995 one. Terry Yorath was their manager at the time. We were 4-0 up at half time & he sent their players back out on to the pitch immediately, so they had to stand there looking like bloody idiots for 15-20min until 2nd half started.

As someone said above,Cardiff are dangerous at headed goals. Stats from the game yesterday showed them top of the board on Set pieces with 17.Our defenders need to be aware!

Less than 500 away fans I reckon, that's not a dig at them by the way I remember them bringing a good couple of thousand up for a Tuesday night game in 2002(?), when we came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. It seemed like about 1800 of their 2000 fans were hooligans that night too 😁

Any word on if Grant might be available? I've gone for Town win 3-1 I've been told up to 4 weeks. Not sure how accurate that is though.

2-0.
As mentioned above we fluffed our lines against Stoke when we had chance to pull away, DC/NC won’t let that happen again, come out all guns blazing and take the game to Cardiff, their away form is poor. Let’s push on now.

It sounded as though his clash with Schindler in training was in the rib area and the 'worse than expected' scan results presumably mean a cracked or broken rib rather than just a bruise. So 4 weeks makes sense, even if it's a bit crap. Three more home wins this month will make things a lot easier though!

Anyone think Depoitre would have been a better option as a sub than Campbell ? I'm really disappointed in Fraizer tbh, I thought he was a battler, smart with a few tricks and an eye for goal...but he seems to spend all his time fouling opponents and falling over.At least with Depoitre you got a bit of oomph, albeit in rare glimpses of the ball when he did play...under the Cowleys more progressive style he might have done a better job..

Cant see KAA Gent being too happy if we put one of their contracted players on our bench.

Must admit, I was rather disappointed in Depoitre last season. Didn't do much more for us last season than he has this.

We could/should have scored twice in the first few minutes on Saturday when our pressing of their defence/keeper twice got us in to good positions.

Season one Depoitre, yes, obviously. Season two Depoitre, no thanks. Played like he was still hungover, not interested and out of shape.

I remember beating them early 80s Dale Tempest scored. 3-1 I think.

I'm not doubting you - your memory is probably far better than mine. But I can only recall one home game ever being called off late in the day and that was against Hull because of fog. I'm sure that you will be right though.

Cardiff always seem to do us with headers...they're dangerous ar crosses and have some big lads... Smithies makes a return, along with Morrison, Richards, Ward, Paterson, peltier ?.... Surely we've got to beat them this time..? If Peltier turns up he’ll be in the stands as a spectator, given that he plays for West Brom...

Only 13 hours early 🤨

I was confident on the Cardiff one because I was driving a wagon up the motorway to get to the game myself, I saw two coach loads of "lads" on the M1 who waved politely when the saw the Town sticker in my windscreen, I got back in time but it was called off, I also made it for the rearranged one which to be fair they still brought a couple of thousand to. The only other home game I remember getting called off at the Mac was a Saturday, we left Canalside around 2.30 and were told it's off by a group of fans walking away from the ground as it poured down with rain - I think it was York though rather than Hull but I could be wrong. I know the weather wasn't great yesterday but was surprised the Giants game was off. PS Mansfield can you remember the home game v Div.4 Champions elect, Cambridge, at Easter in 1977, it was a 7.30 kick off and drew the biggest crowd of the season, nearly 12,000, we only got to 10,000 on three occasions that season, this one and Barnsley and Bradford, but all the papers had it down as a 3.00 start and in pre internet days most people relied on the newspaper fixture lists for their information, apparently hundreds who turned up early didn't come back for the later start.

Sorry, but that era is a blank for me. I was living in Scarborough 1973-76 then at college in Doncaster 1976-79 and had no means of transport until the tail end of the course, so I saw very little of Town mid to late 70s.

The York game was called off after 2pm due to a rainstorm of biblical proportions. This was long before climate change and Greta 🤫

Cowley obviously is very pleased with Campbell and said as much after the game on Saturday. Came on and his running stretched their defence when they were looking to press forward. Depoitre was great in PL season 1 but was terrible in the 2nd season.
