I'm not doubting you - your memory is probably far better than mine. But I can only recall one home game ever being called off late in the day and that was against Hull because of fog. I'm sure that you will be right though. I was confident on the Cardiff one because I was driving a wagon up the motorway to get to the game myself, I saw two coach loads of "lads" on the M1 who waved politely when the saw the Town sticker in my windscreen, I got back in time but it was called off, I also made it for the rearranged one which to be fair they still brought a couple of thousand to. The only other home game I remember getting called off at the Mac was a Saturday, we left Canalside around 2.30 and were told it's off by a group of fans walking away from the ground as it poured down with rain - I think it was York though rather than Hull but I could be wrong. I know the weather wasn't great yesterday but was surprised the Giants game was off. PS Mansfield can you remember the home game v Div.4 Champions elect, Cambridge, at Easter in 1977, it was a 7.30 kick off and drew the biggest crowd of the season, nearly 12,000, we only got to 10,000 on three occasions that season, this one and Barnsley and Bradford, but all the papers had it down as a 3.00 start and in pre internet days most people relied on the newspaper fixture lists for their information, apparently hundreds who turned up early didn't come back for the later start. I also neglected to mention that I was referring only to games played at the new stadium. But my memory is starting to get very hazy anyway. I'm liable to be corrected on just about everything these days.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ad infinitum. This is something that Town simply don't do. They come out at 3:00/7:45 as if they've had pre-match Mogadon Cocktails! We could/should have scored twice in the first few minutes on Saturday when our pressing of their defence/keeper twice got us in to good positions. That is true. But in general (and as the rest of that half showed) the tactic seems to be to try and stay solid for the 1st half of games then play football 2nd half.

I'm sure that you will be right though. Yeah he is right. It was pissing it down. We had already set off and were on the motorway when it was announced it was off on the radio. Me and my dad were quarter of the way down St Andrews Road when we realised there was no one else going to the ground! We'd missed the announcement that the game was abandoned before we set off. Obviously the days before smart phones.

Doesn't explain why we've played much better in the 2nd half of the vast majority of games this season though.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen us beat them 5-1 both at home and away (1995 and 1990 respectively)? Quite possibly but I don’t remember the 1995 one. Probably coz you'd have been 7 or 8 years old

Do they still play kick and run as they did when we played them at their spot? They looked very one dimensional but that was under Warnock and I haven’t watched them since.

I said that my memory is going, didn't I? I well remember travelling up from work and spending an hour in the Peacock before driving - carefully - all the way back down again.

Just reading through the DC press conference.. sounds like Bacuna, Grant and Pritch should be back Bacuna? Was a question against him as he went off with a 'dead leg' on Saturday - although that would make him available, rather than back.

If Bacuna & Grant are both fit then I can see Grant playing wide left and Bacuna at right back. Simpson dropping to the bench as 3 games in a week will be a stretch for him (assuming he plays at Derby). Big game for Lossl, Schindy, Stears & Mounie defending the set plays.

Chance to go 18th with a win, that's part of Cowley's pre-match pep talk right there.

Need to win to bring another three of four really close Still loads to play for but it’s getting towards the silly season. Forest beat Leeds then lose to Charlton. Can’t read any games in this league at this time of the season

Have a sneaking suspicion we will get a frustrating draw after being the better team for large parts of the game, will wait and see.

Agree this could be a draw. They’ve got a better record than us, pushing for the auto places....tough game and will be really good test of where we are

Cardiff unbeaten in 9 in all competitions (since they last got thumped 6-1 away to QPR), one defeat in 14, including 4 draws (at Preston, Reading, Brum and coming back from 3-0 down at Leeds) and two wins (at Wendies and Carlisle in the cup) on the road.
Aside from the 3 on the road to those chest wankers, Cardiff don't appear to score many, only registering 8 in their last nine league games.
1-1 for me. Hopefully edge it 2-1.
