I’ve never been one for constantly changing managers and talk of getting rid of Darren Moore after such a short period of time may seem hasty but it quite clearly isn’t working, whatever it is. I don’t blame Moore at all, he’s the wrong guy at the wrong time coming after a very popular manager with much of the fan base who saw no need whatsoever to make a change despite whatever reason the club trotted out. This is all on those upstairs. I think we’re getting smashed (again) on Saturday followed by Watford at home and further tough games in November and I dread to think where we’ll be come the end of November but I’d be surprised if it’s not bottom 3. My feelings are we are almost back to where we were 12 months ago under Fotheringham and likely will be in a months time. I said then the season had more than a whiff of relegation about it and it needed Neil Warnock to ride in and save the day, something probably only he could have done and which the fans reacted to. There’ll be no Neil Warnock to save us this time.

His post match interview was one of the worst i’ve heard in a long long time. Worse that CC in his first season when we went on that terrible run, worse than DS at the start of last season, and yes, worse than MF..
It was just full of sound bites, buzz words and basically spoke a lot of words without actually saying anything of any meaning.
I know he’s trying to protect the players by not criticising in public. But that was a shocking performance tonight, which he should at least be a bit more honest about

Remember we had to get him whilst he was available.. absolute bollocks. But our man from Portugal says he's a great coach and performed miracles to get such a poor Wednesday squad promoted last season 🙄🤣🤣🤣 I think his internet is down tonight. 😉

Was pissed off NW was "pushed" but never wanted this fella. I'd rather have had the coked up mad head Nathan Jones, he's done it with shit budgets and poor quality players least a bit of give a fk and passion would have been seen. Tonight Moore just stood there as we got our arse handed to us ,their manager was still going nuts at 4-0 up if they missed a tackle or pass.

Ipswich fan here just thought I'd offer my thoughts as somebody who watched a lot of Moore's Wednesday side last year. He found a pretty good tactical formula in the first two thirds of the season but he struggled to adapt to losing players in the run in and at times it felt like they were relying on the quality of the players in the squad to get them over the line rather than any game plans he had devised. Feared he might be a bit exposed without having that talent advantage at Huddersfield. I thought Moore was a strange pick for where Huddersfield are at the moment too. His main strength has always been his man management and instilling belief into his players, as shown by the playoff comeback and how he almost kept West Brom up from an impossible position in his first management role. The problem is that Warnock is an even better motivator so what is Moore's greatest asset probably looks like a weakness to the players who will have seen what came before him. He was also excellent at taming Chansiri's behaviour which again is a valuable skill but another one I'm not sure is all that relevant at Huddersfield with an owner who so far seems pretty sensible. I don't know if it's the correct fit, but there's still plenty of time left. And if he's still around on the last day of the season and needs something from the game at Portman Road he'll get it because annoyingly he seems to have McKenna's number! Spot on👍

Feel sorry for Moore.
First home defeat this evening.
Just one defeat in five games before tonight.
Positive results against Coventry, Ipswich and QPR.
Fans given up on him already despite him working with a poor squad (in the eyes of most Town fans).
Would love him to get a result on Saturday.

If we knew for a fact things would change for the better under a new boss then i'd take a heavy defeat, we've had heavy defeats aginst them before so it would be nowt new...but 10-1. As I said I was being OTT, but only a ridiculous defeat would result in his immediate dismissal I feel and even then it may not be enough… but the noise already must be concerning. I dont usually panic when things dont go well and im not going to start now but yes it is concerning, one good performnace v Ipswich and another good half v Coventry is all we've had so far, ok we beat QPR but if we'd drawn the game nobody could have said it wasnt a fair result.

Chances of getting anything at ER on Saturday virtually zero. Kin’ glad I won’t be there this time. Just the thought of their lot taunting us 😩

We like the energy in the, energise the moments, the team, energy wise, Urm, you know. It's just complete fucking bullshit. If that was a manager at work he would be the fucking laughing stock of the place.

Assuming we all thought a season of stability was the best we could realistically hope for this season given the squad of players we have, we’d have done better to have left it a while longer til Rowett became available. No frills manager perhaps but knows how to get teams with limited ability playing and a far safer bet if we had to get rid of Warnock than Moore.

Having watched Town for 63 years seen lots of ups and downs but once again we have gone from Manager with a plan to another manager with no plan players don’t look interested don’t know if I can be bothered to wait for another manager who knows what he’s doing I may walk away unless they can talk Sir Neil into a return

Genuine question and not after an argument.
Did anybody find his appointment anything other than very uninspiring and bringing you back down to earth with a bang?
I for one didn’t, granted Warnock is a hard act to follow but even if DM had come in after Fotheringham Im not sure i would have found it any more inspiring 🤔

Taken from Twitter: Performances under Moore Coventry - adequate (1 point) Ipswich - good (1 point) Birmingham - shameful (0 points) Sheff wed - dreadful (1 point) QPR - tedious (3 points) Cardiff - woeful (0 point) Our only ok performances have lead to 1 point. We were fortunate to be playing QPR for our only win so far under him. It just doesn’t bode well long term.

Excellent post… but I am not sure our owner is sensible. Whilst successful he also seems thick but not Darren Moore thick! Thanks! Maybe sensible is being too kind to the owner, but what I meant is that he's not somebody who needs reigning in from being a public embarassment like Chansiri, Vincent Tan or those crypto investors at Crawley.

No frills manager perhaps but knows how to get teams with limited ability playing and a far safer bet if we had to get rid of Warnock than Moore. Bottom half budget Championship jobs are always quite difficult but Rowett's tailor made for them. He failed with Stoke's multi-million pound squad but with Birmingham and Millwall he always had them in the top half with very little money spent. With those kinds of managers it's optimal to only keep them around for a couple of seasons though, because eventually the fans tire of the style of football but if you give them six or seven transfer windows they'll build a squad that can only play that way and then it's a recipe for disaster trying to unpick it all. A bit like what happened to us when McCarthy left.

Clearly looked at Josh Koroma. Realised he had become a changed man, scores goals, assists etc. So I don’t want somebody like that playing for me. I could even destroy his confidence. Disgrace.

You can also put buzz, powell and many more in that category. However on the flip side you have Warnock, Wagner,Jacko and for me even Corberans eccentricity . They all had that something that gave the players/fans/club an uplift and a feeling something could happen. That feeling has never been present since the day DM was rumoured.

Maybe that's the case at every club, I don't know, but from the off I just couldn't see Moore working here. Who knows, he could turn things round and disprove my theory entirely.

Whilst I hope he can turn it around, with regards to those mentioned managers who did have it, by 6 games in you could see/feel something even if results hadn’t massively picked up. Again with DM, 6 games in and no feeling of anything other than he doesn’t have a clue …. I think its 6? It was summed up perfectly by another posted a few days back in that DM’s reign will most likely go down in the same pages as Powell, Schofield, Ritchie etc in that its nothing short of… well nothing.

Do you trust Cartwright to find his replacement? Edwards and Cartwright are the problem. Edwards is the new Ian Ayre and Cartwright can't spot coaching talent. I truly want Moore to succeed, but it hasn't started well.

This thread epitomises football supporters. I know there are people who never agreed with this appointment, as there always will be, but it’s just a bit too knee jerk to have a thread like this after 6 games.
Yeah it’s all a bit crap, but how much would it cost a club if they got rid of Mgrs every time they had a few shit games? Then you get people moaning about no funds for transfers because they’ve used all the money to pay off Mgrs.
I also seem to recall there was a similar thread for Carlos?

Arent you just picking out the managers who's teams did well and saying they had this 'X factor' ? Corboran was a charisma vacuum with almost no personality at all I thought. Its still early days for Moore but the signs arent great. We seem to be going backwards the more he coaches them. And we're now conceding goals that we didnt use to..like giving free headers at corners.
