Dreadful appointment. Not sure DM was the anwser to any question
Although i'd have kept Warnock to at least february, I could somewhat understand the club making the change at this point if it was for certain manager, a Wagner/carlos type appointment - someone with a strong identity and long term plan. I dont see any of that in DM.. Not sure what the board hired him based on
If the board want to impress us, act swift and make a change. We will go down with DM.

Having watched Town for 63 years seen lots of ups and downs but once again we have gone from Manager with a plan to another manager with no plan players don’t look interested don’t know if I can be bothered to wait for another manager who knows what he’s doing I may walk away unless they can talk Sir Neil into a return Similar vintage, similar view - thinking I’ve had enough if this carries on, but I never thought I’d say that in a million years of watching Town. When we were playing Yeovil or their ilk in the Cup on a freezing Tuesday night I used to think there are only old men and me watching this, but at least we had Marcus Stewart and a will to win.Now I’m an old man and I can see nothing to attract me to watch this constant rubbish again. Nothing!

When we were playing Yeovil or their ilk in the Cup on a freezing Tuesday night I used to think there are only old men and me watching this, but at least we had Marcus Stewart and a will to win.Now I’m an old man and I can see nothing to attract me to watch this constant rubbish again. Nothing! And another here. Been watching since 1965 and basically sick of the same old merry-go-round, stumbling from one crisis to another. Nothings changed since 70-72, small successes, no investment or long term plan. That's not even my main problem though. 160 mile round trips, usually overnight stays or a cattle truck journey since dad died just before covid, and rarely an ounce of entertainment. I can think of better things to do with the average £150 cost when you chuck in beer, meals if staying over and match ticket. No amount of stadium improvements in hospitality will negate any of that. I want to see a football team, a team that entertains me win or lose. A team that plays like we did in Wagners first home game I think, the 1-2 loss to Boro. Currently it's just dire, and so far I haven't been at all this season. I suppose I will at some point, but then again maybe the HTFC gene has finally expired. Same happened when that bastard Heath destroyed Yorkshire, giving bits away to Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria, Durham and the then Cleveland, though three of those places aren't real either. Fought for years to get things back with the Yorkshire Ridings Society, and all that happened is they kept buggering things around even more. I'm an old man now, and though Yorkshire and HTFC are in my blood, don't give a toss. ALL governments are inept and incompetent, from railways, to non pro-active policing, decisions they make turn out long term to be crap, usually in the name of progress. HTFC are following the same path. Sometimes it's just time to lead a quiet life for the few years left, because no matter how much I kid myself, that's basically fact. The years, simply get less....far too quickly.

Darren Boore is thick as mince.. . He makes Fotheringham look like Sven. He can't even string a coherent sentence together for a post match interview, so no wonder the players look so confused if he's trying to give them instructions. Just over emphasises buzz words.. I can't see anything other than a second arsehole at 2.15 on Saturday. I’m not impressed so far but this is really distasteful and out of order. In what way ? It's fairly spot on as far as I can see.

I wish we'd stop appointing managers who are unbearable to listen to.
Carlos you could forgive as it was his second language but MF and now Moore just make you want smash your head against a wall.
How these guys impress in an interview will forever be a mystery to me.

In only 6 games, he's managed to transform us into relegation fodder, like it or not under Darren Moore, that's where we're heading!

This thread epitomises football supporters. I know there are people who never agreed with this appointment, as there always will be, but it’s just a bit too knee jerk to have a thread like this after 6 games. Yeah it’s all a bit crap, but how much would it cost a club if they got rid of Mgrs every time they had a few shit games? Then you get people moaning about no funds for transfers because they’ve used all the money to pay off Mgrs. I also seem to recall there was a similar thread for Carlos? I agree with you…. Yet I’m very vocal in wanting him gone. I think for the most the reasons are the man he replaced, the fake bullshit that accompanied his appointment, his truly awful press conferences/post match interviews oh and his brand of football. We would be entitled to moan if funds weren’t available as we had the ideal scenario manager wise until MAY and we would of stuck by him until MAY even had he been in charge of that shit show last night because of what went before!!! As for CC I agree many wanted him gone but not this early, I for one didn’t but I was quick to want MF gone (proven right) and quick to want DM gone although I worry now the only man who could of saved us was one we will never see return.

If there was an option for "too early to write him off just yet", that's what I would click.
But there isn't. And the opening 6 games haven't exactly increased anyone's confidence in the new team.
So no. I don't think he'll still be here for the opening fixture next season. I'm not calling for his head yet, but if I was a betting man my money would be on him being gone before the season is out.

I presume our twitter account stops posting managers comments because he says a lot without saying anything?!
The players interviews get summarised yet the managers don’t. It’s like he’s swallowed a managers dictionary of corporate management shite ‘get on the grass’ ‘reflect on our loss’ ‘the boys are disappointed ’.
Let’s be honest they were shit and your tactics have regressed these average players even further back! Leeds’ front line will tear us to pieces.

And while people keep using Ipswich as a yardstick, it's looking increasingly likely that it was the exception rather than the rule as we haven't really looked like that since, and it wasn't actually that good anyway. While we did play well for much of the game, we got worse when Moore brought his subs on and we actually threw away two points, in my opinion. As for last night, I've no idea what he was trying to do. The defending is non-existent and we just look so slow, we were second to every ball last night. I think the clock is ticking already.

6 games in and 135 minutes of passable football.... and 405 minutes of the worst football I have watched ever at any level.
Nagle needs to act and he needs to act today. In no other world would you allow anyone this incompetent to be involved in your business an hour longer than necessary.
Every minute he spends in the building is a minute that will require rebuilding. He has already lost the fans, Nagle is losing the fans by been complicit and his stewardship of the club already under question with footballing decisions.
Cartwright and Edwards need the boot as well if they advised on Moore....
I'm actually envious of Sheff Wednesday and their new manager who has a good track record as an assistant and a clear identity. Looks more wagner/corberan than fozza or siewert.

They have no idea and probably limited contacts of the championship these days. Edwards was probably an OK appointment. But on the football side cartwright is a shocker as well.

Does anybody wonder whether Nagle has been suckered by these two? He's openly said he delegates so the football decisions should have been made by Cartwright who was impressed by Moore's brand of attacking football. Says it all really. Anyone with half an ounce of common sense would have told nagle the squad was very weak, weaker than last season when it was basically relegated. They'd also have told him replacing Warnock with ANY coach was a huge risk and could end in relegation. The more I think about it, the more I wonder whether the three in charge would be that bothered if we ended up in L1. More chance of sustainability at that level after all and JE and MC still get paid. Nagle should have appointed a much better DoF than he has and one with recent relevant experience. Even Baldwin has gone who was the only one with said experience. Bottom line is none of them know what they're doing. JE talks a good game, I'll give him that.

Edwards and Cartwright will need time and a manager who works with them, and I'm not sure Neil worked that way.
Regarding Moore I think we have to take the 'we just got hammered 4-0 at home' glasses off. He has inherited a squad not much better, and possibly in some ways worse, than the one Warnock inherited. We have no fit experienced striker because Warnock was happy to ship Rhodes out and insisted on keeping Ward, who on past record we won't see available until the New Year. Warnock was manager when we brought Wiles & Burgzorg in, though I don't think there was a lot of choice as some players would have been reluctant to join either because of money, Warnock or the temporary manager situation, probably mostly first and third of those.
We had some unexpected and very poor results under Warnock but he magically kept us up. He was never a long term appointment and keeping him until the New Year would probably have complicated the next transfer window as well as the last one. If Warnock was a temporary patch then you have to fix the problem properly eventually. Far too early to start shouting for Moore's head. He will have been as shocked as us at how badly we defended set pieces, he was a centre half, and the soft free kick in the second half was just that. His half time changes, given the lack of quality and experience we had on the bench, worked. We looked a much better team second half, and the change of shape was a big improvement.
It is in tough games like that you really find out your weaknesses and Headley and Nakayama down the left was one, Wiles and Burgzorg were the others, and not having Lees as well. He changed the shape and the fullbacks did much better than the three. When Hudlin is the only striking option that is unlikely to be a game changer though. Nakayama looked much more comfortable as a left back but he still needs to be quicker and stronger. I hope with games that will come.
It is a tough league and if you make mistakes you get punished. We were, unusually, poor in defence and that was not all down to our left side.
Same issues for Moore as previous managers. Poor striker options and lack of link up play, especially in midfield. I said last season I thought our best midfield was Rudoni, Kasumu and Camara and we had just one of them last night.
He needs time and the January window. What happens in January will tell us a lot about the new management team.

Sorry lads, but you can’t sack a manager after six games and two losses. I don’t think the football has been brilliant but you can clearly see that Moore isn’t telling them to play this way, he’s absolutely furious on the touchline. This isn’t his squad and I don’t think a lot of managers would be able to get a tune out of it, bar Neil.
In reality, this is what this squad is realistically finishing, scraping relegation! We need major investment in the winter transfer window. But you cannot kneejerk and sack a manager that quick! Defending on set pieces needs sorting out ASAP.

Maybe I was naive however I did not think Moore was that bad an appointment. Sadly he has had to follow a really good manager who got average players playing better. I watched him on the touch line tonight and there was little or no animation or instruction even when players came over. Cardiff showed us tonight how to kill off games when 2 nil up and to be frank it looked like they took their foot off the gas in the second half especially by bringing some of their better players off. The championship is a tough league where you need to get good player movement, the ability to stop crosses coming in, the ability to handle set pieces etc none of which we did tonight. I will be there on Saturday keeping my fingers crossed that we play better in a local derby because if we don’t Somerville, Gnonte etc will tear us apart at the back. What worries me is his seeming inability to change things positively during a game. We got worse when he changed it at wed, home to ipswich and again sat and tonight when hudlin had all the impact of a traffic cone and edwards showed why he isnt playing regularly! Hudlin was on the field for 29 minutes before he touched the ball.

I agree with this but he has to be more pragmatic with his tactics. Three slow centre halves will never work as a defence on their own. We need either two full backs to make a five or go to a back four. There was way too much space for Cardiff to run into behind our midfield. Grant must have made half a dozen fifty yard runs with the ball without a hint of a challenge. I still blame DH for the overall mess.

Moore has come in trying to be the benevolent man manager. Lengthy individual chats with every player. All that tedious guff in the early interviews about how wonderful everybody was. It's the winning hearts and minds approach. The trouble is, it doesn't necessarily gain you respect. Or results. And when you then try to flip and be the tough guy (4 subs at half time) you lose even more credibility. Players don't give a toss about being understood, they just want clarity, consistency, and the success that gets them that next contract. I was once bothered about hearts and minds, taking people with you etc. But as someone older and wiser than me once told me, if you've got them by the bollocks their hearts and minds tend to follow.

They'll have chosen Moore because of his record at WBA, Donny, and Wednesday..which by and large is pretty impressive. Can still be an error and at this stage an error is looking more likely than it being a good decision. We're going backwards in all areas of the team from Keeper to striker and his post match ramblings to try and explain it are just verbal diarrhoea. Painful as it might be, you have to give a manager a reasonable amount of time and 6 games ( W1..D3..L2 ) isnt anywhere near long enough.

The problem I believe is that Moore cannot communicate any way to play and that the one strength of this group of players is that they will follow "CLEAR" instructions. If you confuse them, your in trouble. Alarming features of Boores tenure so far. Press conferences - He can't communicate in simple terms, buzz word bingo mk 2. Selection - Picking players out or position that are of poor championship standard in their natural position. Game plan - Total inability to change anything while play is ongoing. Team talks - apart from Coventry, an inability to forge a reaction/change at half time. Decision making - He left an aging Hogg on the field with the Leeds game on Saturday. Basically other than been a nice bloke who would probably be a laugh to be around because of his dim-wittedness, he should be no-where near a management position at this club.

I'm with you slapps ............... but we now have a huge dilemma imho. If we list along until December just doing enough to be clear of the bottom 3 but not anything more would you be backing Moore with funds to start to overhaul the squad? I wouldn't based on what I've seen to be honest - the pitiful "in game" management was called out by many massive fans prior to him coming and at present its looking to be true. I was in the car by the time the final whistle went last night and i was parked by the ring road - it really was that bad!!!! One thing is for sure - its making Warnock's achievements last season look significantly better by the day. The lack of investment in the playing squad for years now was always likely to bite eventually - only one fee paid for a striker since the first year in the prem I am told (Grant).............all the rest loans/stop-gaps and freebies and it shows. Its probably unfair to single out individuals after last night but how far out of their depth do the likes of Edwards, Hudlin, Headley look?

There's been a tidal of shite posted on here over the past 15 hours, but thank christ some of us still have a semblance of reason, patience, and logic. Top post, Sir.

Corners. Why we so shit at defending them? This is a new problem. Up until the Stoke game Town were one of very clubs who hadn't conceded from a set piece this season. We've shipped three goals from corners in 4 days and QPR should really have bagged in the second half from one as well.
