And hopefully a decision has been taken to make the minutes public too...? Let's hope so So any feedback from this meeting yet, or do we take it the club wants to keep information from the Development Association meetings 'private', exhibiting a lack of respect for and a disdain of the supporters? How are supporters able to send questions to the various groups who attend the 'Town Talk' sessions if none of the questions or answers are ever published? Grrrr.

I couldn't agree more. This is one thing i'd hope would change with the new group but it can be percieved as being negative if you point out certain things.

I couldn't agree more. This is one thing i'd hope would change with the new group but it can be percieved as being negative if you point out certain things. HTSA isn't actually represented at Development Association meetings yet. They will be in future now the Development Association hierarchy have been informed of the amalgamation of the ST and SC. As for the info, your guess is as good as mine......why it hasn't been published is beyond me....and is something only those who are part of that particular group can answer. Here is what I was sent, informally from Bob, 13 days ago when I, and others, asked for information: Minutes will be issued in due course and circulated by me, at least.
In the meantime, here's my take on today's meeting.
But first of all, let me reiterate that the Dev Assn. is wholly responsible for Academy affairs. It was George Binns idea initially that the gathering offered an opportunity for supporters to put questions to the Club because both sides are represented. This so-called Town Talk session follows at the end of the DA committee meeting and is quite separate to it.
There were two main discussions today. One was about the Midnight League project that has been running at The Zone. This is really nothing to do with the Academy and arguably isn't part of the agenda and I'll report on that separately as well.
The other main discussion today was about Storthes Hall. The paperwork STILL isn't signed and there was clearly some agitation about that today. George Binns has undertaken to contact Paul Sykes, as Chairman of the Sporting Pride Development Co. (this is the not-for-profit organisation responsible for the Storthes Hall complex), to ensure that there is sufficient progress-chasing because the Club has committed to the FL and the FA that the Academy development will be in place - or at least started - by the beginning of next season.
Roger Armitage spoke about some missed deadlines for funding applications but would not put a figure on the maximum amount of Landfill Tax revenue available. I got the impression that it might be less than £100K. He did stress that it was now down to Ken and Dean to find the shortfall, which could be more than £800K.
There wasn't much else of any significance - unless you want a job as a programme seller, earning 10% commission!

And anyone know anything about the 'so-called Town Talk' session, or do the people in attendance just satisfy their own personal queries about the club with no input or feedback from and to the wider supporter base?

I recognise some of the concerns expressed on the site but I would go for it.With the proviso that the ownership must stay with the supporters association and if they were to end up in a club museum at some point then they would be there only" on loan" Supporting a club is about awareness of history and tradition and these bits of memorabilia represent a massive part of ours.

I think I have been asked once if I had anything that I would like to be asked It appears to me that the Town Talk sessions was a way to massage a few egos, and on the club's part they could be seen to be communicating with the fans (in a small way) albeit with pre-ordained questions so that nobody could be caught off guard. That's how the Davy regime worked/works. I get the impression the Hoyle regime will be/is going to be different. However, whilst the Town Talk sessions are available through the Development Association forum they should be utilised to the max, and questions should be sought in advance by those who attend.

The continued silence with regards to feedback from the DA meetings is deafening.
How the ST money can remain committed to Storthes Hall whilst such apparent cloak and dagger surrounding its progress is in place I don't know.
