Now I cannot be arsed to read all the other posts on here at the moment cos I am f***ing seething. To all those fans who call themselves supporters!!!! F&&&ck off and SUPPORT someone else. Why boo Goodwin when MOM was announced? You're a f**cking disgrace to HTAFC!!!!! I feel so sorry for Mr Goodwin - having to hide his face, poor poor lad, he didn't f&&cking award it to himself did he?? I the 28 years I've been watching & SUPPORTING Town I've never, ever witnessed such behaviour. The whole team had a bad second half, why single out one player who, as a professional, is doing what his boss asked of him?? I hope he goes on a scores the winner in the playoff final and stucks it right back up you. You all need to take a long hard look at yourselves, lift up that bottom f**cking lip thats trapsing on the floor and stop acting like spolit brats. The front of my season ticket says 'A Century of Pride' - well I for one don not want to remember our centennary season tarnished by such behaviour - lacking respect and adopting such attitudes. I'm not really suprised that we've missed out on signing some players linked with us - why come to a club where some fans behave like they do?? I really hope that the majority of fans fel the same way I do and go some way to SUPPORTING him wholeheartedly in the next game. Mr Goodwin, if you're reading this please accept my apologies for the booing. Right, I'm off for 30 mins to get my tea but will be back to answer questions, respond to adverse replies etc later.

Agree 100%, and it's what I posted earlier. I was ashamed by the behaviour of what must have been thousands of Huddersfield Town fans.
Every player has a bad game, that's how football is. Maybe i'll grab 2000 mates and go hurl abuse at some blokes in an office, that sounds fair doesn't it?
For the record, I hope Goodwin starts on Tuesday night, and I hope he has an absolute blinder, just to show the morons who booed him today.

Summed it up very well there, spot on. Here's my post from t'other thred: Some of the Town fans were absoloutely pathetic today. A small minority round be booed Williams when he came on. - I don't really rate him but what does putting him, our own player, off achieve???! Then the Goodwin announcement. He knew and everyone knew he didn't deserve it, but what does booing him achieve?! and then after that everytime he got the ball, people near me just booed. They are NOT fans. Anyone who puts their own team off can f*ck off for all I'm concerned. I don't give a toss how much they've paid. If they don't like what they see then my advice to them would be don't come and watch the greedy league back home. If people want to show their frustration AFTER the game and boo or whatever but targeting individuals and during the game is pathetic and no one who does it can ever call themselves a fan. You wonder why we play better away? - 'cos the booing 'fans' don't go to them. :@:@:@:@

Lets not forget that Goodwin is actually a midfielder and is being played out of position at right back. Personally I don't understand why Holdsworth has been dropped as Goodwin hasn't done anything more then Andy Holdsworth was or is capable of doing. Yet Goodwin always puts in the effort and didn't deserve to be booed the way he was.
But then amazingly someone like Keigan Parker who has had no impact on Huddersfield Town is given a standing ovation when coming on and has his name sung even when he isn't on the park!!

Spot on. I wish they would feck off and watch L**ds or Manure.
Loads of to$$ers booed when Willaims came on. But the abuse for Goodwin was beyond a joke.
The poor lad hid face when he saw his name come up on the score board.
I give up with the total fickle support we get at home. I hear folk on here saying 'i pay my money i say what i want'. Well next season go and have a pint and a half in your local instead of coming down the pharm

A pint and a half?
Expensive pub that!
The ST's wont be £100 or so next season.

Agree with your first 2 paragraphs, but surely it would send the wrong message to the other players who must have their opinions about his performance. Have a poor game, and then have the opportunity to rectify that in the next first team game? Surely someone else should be given a chance if they deserve it (e.g. AH), especially with the competition for places, and the players given chances to redeem themselves in training and reserves matches?

How do you know??
anyway, ST's could be £300 and you still cannot justify the abuse that so called town fans gave our team today

The poor lad hid face when he saw his name come up on the score board. TBH he probs did that becuase he knew that he was playing badly (around the time it was announced anyways) and probably didn't think he was worthy of the MOM award.

Im just in now. Arrived back in liverpool, and im with lordbasil on this one. The crowd were a f£$king disgrace today. We have a go at N.Clarke for just lumping the ball forward and when J.Goodwin tries to play the ball on the deck (yes i know there was urgency) he gets booed. I find it remarkable how town fans get on the players back for a misplaced pass etc, its easy to say and do when sitting in the stands but were all sitting in the stands for a reason. Because i can categorically say 99% of the fans are sh1t at football themselves and probably see themselves as peles in 5 aside games. You have to juggle all that goes on with a football match and an individuals performance. Such as enviroment changes eg atmosphere of the crowd (eg booing), whether and then there is personal changes such as nerves and anxiety. When individual players are getting booed theyre hardly going to want to recieve the ball are they? So what does booing achieve?

What i'm getting at is, if people have paid money to see a product, and the product is shit, they are allowed to voice thier opinion. How many bands get booed of stage when they perform badly? Happens all the time. Is it right, probably not. Does it help anyone, deffinatly not. But it''s going to happen, moaning about it on here isn't going to change anything is it. Its up to the players to start performing better on the field so they dont get boo'd

I agree, BUT, when a professional footballer cant pass a ball 5 yards without it going out of play on more than one occasion (Goodwin today) I think the fans are entiled to expect a bit more dont you. Yes im not the best footballer in the world, but I can pass a ball 5 yards quite easilly thank you very much.

Well thanks fellow Town fans - its nice to know I'm not on my own on this one.
I calmed down a bit now thanks to 2 spliffs and 2 large glasses of red wine but the fire still burns within!!! ;D ;D ;D
Is the booing down to these noveau football fans that haven't actually played the game at any level or even understand the game??
Another thing is that young kids (fans of the future whom may bring their kids who in turn bring theirs) who witness this behaviour may think booing is acceptable.
I also know that its not just a HTAFC problem but I dont care about how other fans of other clubs behave.
This is our centennary season (it wont happen again) and I want to be able to look back and say we played our part in supporting our team in our 100th year of existance.
UTT and Jim Goodwin and all other reasonable true fans of HTAFC

I agree with booing a team off. I booed at the end of the game today, I booed at Darlington; IMO, booing at the end of a game is a legitimate way to display that I don't think the performance was good enough.
I take a completely different slant to booing someone in a game, however. Goodwin was personally victimised today, there were 3 or 4 other players as bad as him today; Dickinson, Butler, Craney; yet Goodwin was the one singled out by the crowd. What is it actually meant to achieve? Do they think Goodwin was deliberately having a bad game to spite them, and that they could scare him into playing better?
I read over and over again that Town fans will never boo a player as long as they give 100%. Goodwin has given 100% in every game so far.
