well for whats it worth.. i thought some of the booing was directed at the sponsors rather than Goodwin. he didnt need telling he had a bad game and was embarassed by the announcement.. we were just laughing at what planet those people were on.. I honestly thought folk around were booing the sponsors and not slagging off Goodwin.. however the over reaction on here is incredible at times I don't think that Goodwin was any better or any worse than any of the other players on the pitch on Saturday, so I reckon he had just as much right to the MOM award as anyone else. I would struggle to pick a MOM because nobody stood out on Saturday, apart from maybe Glennon because he made a couple of good saves. The unfortunate thing about the announcement of the MOM award on Saturday, was that it came about 30 seconds after Goodwin had made a right mess of a very short pass. I don't think that overall his passing was any worse than anyone elses. I though the passing, movement and decision making in the second half on Saturday was pretty ordinary throughout the whole team. Why pick on Jim Goodwin? The booing of our own players drives me crazy. It's stupid and mindless and can only make things worse, but I can't see how you can stop it. There is a bloke who sits behind me and slightly to the right who does a terrific impression of a cow.

I've thought about this for a while now, i've even thought about buying a megaphone, going to the front of the stand before the players come out and shouting "when anyone around you starts to boo the players as they are being named, anyone who is offended by this can you stand up and point them out please", do you think this might make them ashamed? It so bloody annoys me, why cant they just get behind the team for 90 mins and then "if" the team deserves to be boo'd then do so AT THE END OF THE BLOODY MATCH!!

I too was disgusted at the way the team along with Goodwin were booed off - it's ridiculous, if we aren't careful we'll get what we deserve - naff all. At the end of the day we are not a premiership team and if certain sections expect to see brilliant football for 90 minutes then they better go and support someone else.

We are entitled to see reasonable football after all, agreed, we are league 1 not premiership - but I bet Oldham Leicester Millwall & Scunny fans are quite happy with what they are seeing.
What we got for the last 70 odd minutes on Saturday was just unacceptable.
As for all this 'go and support someone else' we are all Town fans, just because we aren't happy I don't think we should be told that. Certainly after nearly 50 years supporting Town I ain't going to start supporting Man U or L***s.

Certainly after nearly 50 years supporting Town I ain't going to start supporting Man U or L***s. I think the point that Mandy is making, is that there has been an influx of new supporters on £100 season tickets (which is great btw), but that some may be more used to watching 10 or 15 minutes of highlights on MOTD. The ball skills are not going to compare and in any 90 minutes of League 1 football (compared to the edited highlights of the Greedy league), there are going to be bits that are not wonderful to watch. Get realistic is the message, I think. The booing of Jimmy Goodwin was a fecking disgrace.

I cant be bothered to read everything on this post but I 100% agree with Lord Basil- booing one player like that was a total disgrace and an embarassment to the majority of supporters of this club. When the Mom award was announced a guy near me stood up with his hands to his mouth shouting the word booo at the top of his voice as if hed spotted the baddy in a pantomime. What possible good did he think it would do anyone? Did he think Goodwin was going to skin the defenders before whipping over an inch perfect cross for a Town winner because he had done that. I felt totally sorry for goodwin and it became clear he didnt even want the ball later in the game. The only time an individual deserves stick in a game is if he isnt trying or bothered and this wasnt the case. Everone was frustrated and a bit of booing at the end aimed at the team may have been understandable if still out of order, but that was pathetic.
