If Andrew Watsons heard the news I think he might of gone quiet over his evening meal , might be a few phone calls flying about tonight !!

I'd put our chances of getting Boothroyd at around 7 out of 10 and it would be more if Deano was in charge. I don't think Gerry Murphy would have any problems with his old friend either.

Deano really rates him mate, will have to see how old stan does with his manners in next few games. I doubt his manners will change sufficiently to alter anyone's opinion. Football is a game of them (opinions) and it's crystal clear what those of our chairman elect are. Life's never dull where Town are concerned is it......

The way the club should be looking at this is:
It is going to cost a lot to get rid of the current management set up, probably more than we can really afford as a league one club etc.
However, how often does the chance to get one the best up and coming managers come along for free? Whatever it costs to get rid of stan and co, its a price well worth paying to get aidy on board.

I wouldnt ever change my loyalty to town.... far too interesting and unstable in all ways, and when we get it right and thump a team like we did v sadford it feels oh so much sweeter !!

To put it in perspective, I bet you could lay off ternent, Jepson and Docherty for the price of one and a bit craneys. money well spent and very cost effective in the long run

Doubt it would be that much Rob. I always had it in my head the standard was 6 months salary, which in this case would be quite a bit less than that id have thought. Maybe 80k for ST, 40k for RJ and 30k for JD ( but of course Im just guessing wildly) Either way,325k would still be more than worth it, especially if tonights news had any bearing on his successor!

I'd put Stan on £7000 =£182,000 Ron on £3,500 = £91,000 and the rest on a lot less..

I would put our chances at getting Aidy Boothroyd at around 0. Maybe less. Now that IS wishful thinking. i would say NO CHANCE IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!! luckily

What a load of toss! Boothroyd got lucky in his first season and done nowt since.
But the biggest laugh is some of you think it's going to happen. We've got a manager i think?
If and when Stan leaves, then maybe you can speculate, but this is absolutely mindless garbage!

you sound annoyed by the discussion re possibility of aidy been a poss replacement, can understand to a degree coz stan is still town manager but hes on thin ice imo !!

I'm usually rather sceptical about such idle gossip as this. But mids appears to be in playful mood, and his avatar both teases and intrigues

I thought they paid Ronnie in pies?
Duncan- honestly, you're way off.
Dream ticket. Hoyle and boothroyd. Ambitious, town mad, wealthy owner plus ambitious, young, widely respected, recently successful, manager.Full of modern coaching methods . Honest, charismatic. Tough, but the kind players WANT to play for. Worked in the youth system at leeds, knows Murphy well and would support not undermine his work. basically everything ternent isn't. Wouldn't have to worry about having his best players sold from under him. After this 6 month hiccup, this 'could' be the start of great things we've all been hoping for.
Please make it so.

Trouble with Mids is he never gives enough away Obviously there's been some talk of Boothroyd, but impossible to know whether it's something that could happen immienently, or just an idea for the future. My feeling is Ternent will be in charge for the Leeds game.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of speculation is there.....it keeps the cold nights at bay and gives us Town fans something to debate for a bit. Spurs had a manager who was under pressure....do you think their fans didn't speculate?......do you think Mr Levy sacked Ramos and then amazingly convinced Ol' Harry to leave the South Coast, where he was safely ensconced and about to be made a Freeman of the City, all in a few hours?

I just think it's funny how some have progressed from "sack Stan" to "who's next" when we've just won a game and currently have a manager (as far as i'm aware anyway). What a sad bunch of "fans" we are, the whole country, not just HTFC!

What a load of toss! Boothroyd got lucky in his first season and done nowt since. LOL Yeah, I remember thinking what a spawny 3-0 hammering they gave Leeds in the play offs. You can win a game by being lucky ( we did 2 days ago). But you don't get lucky promotions! theyve been on a downward spiral since because they keep selling their best players to balance the books. Thats why he's got fed up and left ( he hasn't been sacked, its mutual consent)

Things like this are usually down to boards, decisions, phone numbers, figures and whether the lights are green.....but having said that there'll always been those who are never happy.

Thats why he's got fed up and left ( he hasn't been sacked, its mutual consent) I think since he had his best players sold from under him during the summer, his passion and effort for the watford job dwindled and that rubbed off in their results. When he gets a new job, where ever that is, im sure he will be a massive success.
