You'd have to be daft to want to manage town.

You'd have to be daft to want to manage town. I think any manager worth his salt at our level would want to manage us - there arent many jobs outside the championship with our infrastructrue, wage bill and budget for players. Any manager who is worried about the chop due to failure is someone who we DONT WANT - most managers who have anything about them would give their right arm to at least have the resources to succeed - very rare these days. If they failed they'd have no excuse and couldnt complain unlike some less fortunate managers at smaller clubs.

Or to look at it from another angle, Aidy has managed in the premiership/championship, and with therefore be looked at by championship teams at the very least before dropping down to our level.

I would put our chances at getting Aidy Boothroyd at around 0. Maybe less.

Just been told the rumour is he is heading for us from a Watford fan. Its the type of manager we are crying out for.
But I can't see him dropping another level, when he was so highly thought of. But stranger things have happened in football and I'm sure Dean would back him

AB did well in his promotion of Watford and the season of keeping 'em up (I think ?!) He would be a very good call.

Hed be (temporarily) dropping a division, but would IMO be moving up a step in terms of club. Despite our recent histories ( last 30 years) id still say town are a bigger club than watford. Certainly are in terms of stadium, history and potential support and id doubt their owner is as wedged up as ours either.

I would put our chances at getting Aidy Boothroyd at around 0. Maybe less. On the basis of what? There aren't any jobs going in the Championship/Premiership, so if he wants to get into management straight away he's going to have to take a step backwards. Leeds and Leicester have both got secure managers; outside of them we're by far the biggest team in this division, he's played for us before, we've got money; which he complained he didn't have at Watford. I'm not saying it's likely, but it's certainly possible.

Sorry dont want to sound negative, just a thought. But he has done that on a small budget and his methods are highly thought of. He is the best upcoming manager around.

this is fantastic news, i got told last week of the rumour but laughed it off.
look at watford compared to town there attendances r only slightly better they have less money than us,
come on dean bribe davy to sack the useless git in charge and appoint the man to take us up up up

If I was hoyle, I'd have been on the phone a few weeks ago! Surpassed all expectations in his first season, did their best in the premiership. Fell away last season after a superb start despite losing key players such as young but wasn't helped by losing his trusted assistant keith burkinshaw in december last season - that poor form has continued into this season after selling £4m of players and not helped by events like the goal that never was. Still only 37 and more in the young and hungry mould than the old school mould davy and watson opted for.
