I'd like to see Cads 'in the hole', in a kind of Wayne Rooney second striker role. He can win the ball, hold it up, distribute it well and hopefully stick a couple away.
That frees up one wing!

So the other is a player from a Championship and probably a striker right Antich? Yes! just for fun, and to test how far we can go, is he tall / medium / short ? I've just got to ask right Personally, very excited so far.

Can't see the third happening today though. Surely if it was going to be they would have announced all three together?
I'd suggest that this means Parker slips down the pecking order with Ainsworth/Cads replacing him.

The resident transfer guru on another forum I post on is a Blackburn fan, and he just posted to semi-confirm the Gallagher rumour.
This is all speculation, i'm just putting 2 and 2 together, but this guy really does know his stuff.

You've got a cracking player in Pilks.
Highly skilled with both feet, can play on either wing, behind a frontman or as a striker on his own if nessasary, will always give 100% and scores goals from anywhere
I'll tell you this though, I'm thoroughly pissed off he's gone to another League One club, whilst I'd be a fool to deny that you are a bigger club than us, at this moment in time you are a rival in our Playoff push and I would have much rather seen him go to the Championsip.
He will do well for you I have no doubt.

sounds an excellent signing then. We know how you feel. It's what we experienced when we sold marcus stewart to ipswich all those years ago. Thanks for the info. PS - as my m8 supports oldham I hope you give em a spanking tmrw.

I hope you end up in the play offs with us as I think Gannon has done a great job. You were very unlucky not to win at our place on the opening day

Last time I looked Tom, Blackburn were in the Premiership....but he has been on loan in the championship?? (Mr Goose is saying "championship club")

OMG, I'm so happy I haven't felt a buzz about town in ages, I think somebody will drop into the role Fletch did the other year in behind the strikers - eg like woking said a Wayne Rooney type role. Roberts on the left and Ainsworth on the right will frighten the life out of defences now,

I sit next to a Stockport geezer here at work and he's gutted on loosing Pilks. He says he's a massive prospect, with the right coaching he's a winner. Plays on both feet, scores with both feet. I say, stick him thru the middle and you've got Maradonna! Great balance, great feet...............legend.

I can certainly sympathise and it's a shame for your club that they need to sell at this stage - especially to a team behind you currently in the play-off chase. We experienced a similar kick in the teeth when we sold Marcus Stewart to promotion rivals Ipswich in 2000(?). They went on to win the play-offs and we finished outside. That's football. Good luck to you and thanks for the info on our new boy.

Hereford fan in peace...
In Lionel Ainsworth you have probably the best player in League 1. There are people who've watched Hereford for 40 years who say he's probably the best player ever to wear the shirt. How it never worked out for him at Watford, I'll never know - but if you've got him for less than £500k, which I suspect you have, it's the signing of the season.
All the best to him at Huddersfield; he's guaranteed to get a heck of a reception when you turn up at Edgar Street later this season.

Good to see 'normal' fans come on and give their honest opinions on players without it decending into a slanging match. All Town fans know what it is like to be on the other end and of such transfers.
Well played guys (or girls) and good luck for the rest of the season.

We already have the best winger in League 1, now maybe we have the 2nd best too He did look good against us at our place though, hopefully he can do the business here.
