Pilko as a replacement for Collins perhaps? Smithies Holdsworth - Butler - Clarke - Werling Ainsworth - Goodwin- Pilko - Roberts Cad - SomeoneNew Would be a pretty impressive attacking formation, without really changing much defensively from a team that hasn't conceded more than 1 goal in a game for what seems like ages. If we need a bit more steel, just let Cad drop right, he tends to that when he's up front anyhoo. Where were you on boxing day, polishing the turkey off round at Stan's? ;D

Midlander- Think you're being unfair on me with that. I like Worthy as a player obviously but if he makes mistakes or has a poor game Im certainly not afraid to judge him for it on here. Similarly with goodwin. I don't have ANYTHING against him at all and whilst it's true earlier in the season I didn't rate him much, there was a good reason for that- he wasn't very good. Missed the 2 big pre season games but the start of the season in midfield and later at right back he was poor. Invisible in the middle and a bit of a defensive liability at right back. Nothing like the Goodwin we've seen since November. Some people on here DO talk like Goodwin is a demi-god and what gets me is they completely turn a blind eye to his faults , yet slate JW for the same things, such as shooting, giving away needless free kicks around the area, picking up cards, even if JG is actually the worse of the 2 at these things. Most of the negative comments about JW on here are exaggerated nonsense. Can't pass, can't tackle, ALWAYS gets booked, ALWAYS reckless, gets sent off too many times (!!), can't play in a team trying to go up etc. Hardly fair on a lad whos Town through and through, has played through injuries for the last 2 years for the cause and has still been statistically our most important player in that time . Also one of our better players in almost all the games he played earlier this season. Only last week ,one poster on here admitted Collins and berrett were too lightweight to play as a midfield pair ,but still said they were a better option than playing Worthy! Thats the sort of utter garbage that gets me in my 'defend Worthy mode' ! Holdsworth wasn't pulling any trees up under Ternent but he was still one of our most consistant players all the same and hadn't really done anything to deserve being dropped for the inferior Goodwin in that position. Think that had little to do with tactics and everything to do with turnip trying to prove a point and dropping another of Murphy's boys.

Lets be objective about Worthy, at the minute he is not good enough, and of all the squad players he is the most likely to command a fee, and is a player we can cope without. A move will benefit him and possibly the club. No one is saying he's crap and the general feeling is we have too many midfielders in the squad, and unless someone comes in for flynn then he will be most likely to leave

Might spell the end for a centre midfielder or two, mind.

what about our defence? for backup Who needs a defence when we have got all these class attacking players. Its gonna be like the Newcastle team under King Kev, u score 4 and we will score 5. On a serious note, i would like a right back and centre back as cover but its hard to find quality players that Clarke wants and just have them as back up coz imagine if Holdsworth was replaced, some people on here would be devastated, mass suicide would begin, attendences would be down, money comin in would drop, we would have to sell Roberts to keep the club afloat and then everyone would riot coz Roberts has gone.

Sounds good.
From turnip's ridiculous tranfser policy of buying 700 central midfileders and playing them all over the shot, we have a manager who realises wide positions need wide options. At last!
All these posts about where will people fit in, how will it work etc - its exactly what we need, its what we have needed for years! If cadders/robrerts had been injured, 442 would have been a waste of time and we'd have had to play williams/flynn etc left wing. Remember, no fewer than 10 players played right wing under stan..kamara, roberts, cadders, craney, flynn, worthy(yes, even worthy!), collins, holdsworth, parker, jevons.
Both sound exciting, don;t know much about pilkington, but they've obviously seen something they like and who are we to argue with that!
I would imagine unsworth, kamara and a central midfielder will depart, posibly a striker if we get another striker in, but there's no big rush tio get rid of X,Y,Z as you would think on here!
We have competition, now let them compete!!!

My job takes me too many wonderful places, but normally for 30mins then back to the good old U.K.
It was certainly worth a phone call home today to find out this news.
Now bring on that goal scorer we need!
