If I find out Dickinson has gone to Leeds today as well then I'm gonna be really mad. I don't think we had a sell on and we were relying on him doing well at Derby to make another 200K.

Hereford fan in peace... In Lionel Ainsworth you have probably the best player in League 1. There are people who've watched Hereford for 40 years who say he's probably the best player ever to wear the shirt. How it never worked out for him at Watford, I'll never know - but if you've got him for less than £500k, which I suspect you have, it's the signing of the season. All the best to him at Huddersfield; he's guaranteed to get a heck of a reception when you turn up at Edgar Street later this season. Best Hereford player EVER?!! Better than Ian Bray! Surely not! He might be a great signing, but he'll have to fight for his place to dislodge either of our current wingers.

Must be Dickinson. Must be. Must be and Walsall is very reliable as well. bit gutted with that. BUT these signings IMO are a sign of our intent, surely we'll be more able to attract a quality striker now - back in for Danny Graham would be a good move.

pilkington is a winger/striker With only 12 goals in his professional career, I'd suggest winger.

Despite what has been said I've got a feeling that one or both of these guys will play tomorrow. If they don't get much chance to train today then maybe on the bench if needed.
It wouldn't be the first time that what is said is different to what actually happens, and how long does it take to have a medical? It isn't like they need to join an NHS waiting list or owt.

I'm chuffed to bits. We've signed two very pacy and talented young players. Both can play out wide and through the middle. Ainsworth is definitely a threat through the middle. Remember him scoring a lot first time round at Hereford, before joining Watford. They've got their careers in front of them, but both are proven at this level.
It's obvious that Clark still wants a striker so no need to panic that we haven't got the out and out goalscorer that we crave. These two signings are going to make the rest of the league sit up and take note and certainly make us more incisive as an attacking threat, due to the increased pace. We're going to be even better to watch as these lads like fast, attacking football on the ground. GET IN!
I've wanted Ainsworth here for 18 months and as for Pilkington; the more I hear about him, the better he sounds.

Great news about these too. Shame Dickinson looks liking him not coming as you can't doubt Walsall.
I think he was the type of forward we need

I hope they are gonna be Pilkington and Ainsworth but having been a town fan for so long and been dissapointed so many times, im not getting my hopes up until i see Clarke with them both. It wouldn't suprise me if it was Pilkington and Carole and Ainsworth was just a rumour

So, where do you see these new lads fitting in?
Personally think that Parker & Jevons might be dropped. Put Ainsworth out on the right, and play Cads & Pilkington up front.
Just think, Roberts, Ainsworth, Cadamartari & Pilkington as an attacking 4. Mouth watering.

can see your point pozza, and with the pace those 4 combined would have, opposition defenders would be scared sh*tless seeing those 4 heading towards them

These 2 signings are different from Stans because they are young, exciting prospects who were wanted by other clubs yet we have still managed to get them.

Really anyone can spent money I think both Ainsworth and Pilkington will prove to be better signings than any Ternent signed Most Ternent signings were mid 20's up to has beens like Unsworth and Lucketti (shame IMO) Clarke's first proper signings are young up and coming proven League One players with the capacity to grow and improve as the club progress. Can anyone really see for example Craney cutting it in the Championship? He really ought to be able too for £200k but I honestly would have major reservations about him if we went up, same with Flynn, Parker etc

I really like the sound of both signings, I see Pilkington as a player that under our coaching team will go from strength to strength. With Ainsworth i think he ll be used as an impact player to start with then when/if Cads goes off form he ll be brought in the team. If there both wingers i think we should stay with the same 2 that are playing so well at the moment and let the new signings wait in the wings
