The rumour is picking up and it looks like were in for him. Im not personally convinced as after his blistering start to the season he has gone very quiet. have heard he's very lazy.

I think we could get better for that money, especially as he's gone off the boil a bit and rovers fans don't really rate him that well!

He's a class player no doubt about that. Not sure if he'd come to or Bristol would sell to a club in the same division.
My other worry, is he's quite similar to Jevons in the way he plays. Had a lot of success at Rochdale playing off a big man (Grant Holt).

Personally, I'd be delighted if we signed Lambert! He's done extremely well in a very average Bristol Rovers side and I firmly believe he'd put plenty of the chances we're creating away. If this is true, I think it represents a good bit of business by Town!

Had he left Stockport BEFORE Dickinson played there or did they play together?

Lambert is a big man. He's at least 6ft 1 Yeah he is, but doesn't play the target man role (or certainly didn't at Rochdale when I used to watch him a bit).

If he is lazy but scores goals, I would be happy. Beckford doesn't do much except score goals, Leeds fans will tell you that.
Its what wins games though at the end of the day. And he is the "big man" a lot of fans wont shut up about! ;D

Had he left Stockport BEFORE Dickinson played there or did they play together? He won't have played with Dickinson, been with Rovers a couple of seasons and was at Rochdale for a couple of years at least before that.

Good striker, certainly for this division, but we're still going to be a bit lightweight up front. I guess the problem is he's too similar to Jevons (and Pilkington I suspect) to play alongside him, Parker isn't producing the goods and Boothy isn't going to play half the remaining games.

Im struggling to see the similarities with Jevons to be honest.

Lambert and Jevons I would be very happy with - they are in no way too similar.
Lambert ran the show at our place earlier in the season

if its in the sun then its got to be true Easy to knock The Sun but they usually get it right. They were spot on with Pilkington.

Proven at this level and would be a worthwhile addition to the squad.
Provides a different option (I too don't see the Jevo comparison) and also takes a decent free kick.
Price is probably about right....

In a world where Peterborough value McLean at £5m is £750k that much for a player like Lambert, who lets face it consistently gets about 20 goals a season Personally I think it's on the high side, but getting a good striker is seemingly a lot harder than any of us imagined! Throw a name in but what has Adam Boyd done wrong to end up at Orient?

Jevons and Lambert are similar in that they both like to drop off the back four into the hole. If they are both doing it then it limits it's their usefullness. Also, neither is going to be a massive threat in the box on all the crosses we're getting in at the minute. Don't get me wrong, I think Jevons and Lambert are quality players, but I do think we need an aerial threat up front.
