Well it certainly wouldnt be glory seeking from 67 thats for sure - i thought we always won when i was a kid having started in 79/80 promotion season - dont think my old man had the heart to tell me that for every one glimpse of sunshine it pissed it down for the next 10 seasons!!!

My Dad says the first match he took me to was Blackpool away in our promotion year 69/70, but the first match i remember was a 3-0 defeat against Manchester United at Leeds Road. Man U scorers that day; Dennis Law, Bobby Charlton and George Best.

I had been to many games before, but the first game I can really remember was beating Watford when we went up as 2nd division champions. I was 9 and the first time I had been allowed to go in The Cowshed by myself. Trevor Cherry and the boys brought the trophy round the pitch after the game. I too had been to games before but this is also the first one I remember. My Dad became too ill to take me after the first two home games the following season and died not long after. As a youngster it was me and him at the football (and not the rest of the family) I guess that is an extra bond that keeps me coming back to Town games whatever the results.

My first game was Town v Blackpool, 92/93. After a school visit to Leeds Road my class-mates and I got free tickets for either Town v Preston or Town v Blackpool. I had Preston tickets but for some reason my mate wanted to swap. He nagged at me for ages so eventually I agreed. We beat Preston 1-0 on a cold Wednesday night before thrashing Blackpool 5-2 the following Saturday! I've never let my mate forget his poor decision making! ;D

My first game was seeing Sheff Weds beat Barnsley 3-1 in 1990 when I was 11. The guy who was doing my parents kitchen was a season ticket holder at Wednesday in the north stand and offered to take me as I'd never been to a match. My parents still weren't sure as my dad had refused to take me to matches in the 80s because of the crowd trouble. I think the fact that he had a friend who was in the Leppings Lane end at Hillsborough that fateful day 20 years ago (luckily in the upper tier although we didn't know at the time) made him even more wary about going to matches with me.
Luckily, the Wednesday thing didn't take and I opted for supporting Town like my dad despite the stick I got at school near Sheffield for not supporting either Wednesday or United... I've been lucky enough to see us beat both of them though. Very sweet.

Town 4 Bolton 0 - September 1990. Iwan Roberts scored his first Town goal, Keith Edwards scored a hat trick, a certain Peter Jackson made his debut and a couple of players got sent off. Shame the next 19 years didn't live up to my expectations after that game. Snap! That was me and Peckham Terrier's first game an' all! I've got the programme framed on my bedroom wall, too. I remember there being fighting in the streets on the way out the ground too. Police horses were breaking it all up. Magic!

Slightly ashamed to say I can't remember the exact game. Not because of age or alcohol befuddlement either. Sometime during 69/70 season. My dad was a loyal Fartown fan and took me to watch those big men running into each other on a regular basis during the late 60s and I never really enjoyed it, despite meeting players etc. However something was happening at Leeds Road that my mates at school were all talking about. TOWN - TOWN - TOWN, I felt left out. When free junior tickets were being handed out by John Cowan, dep. head at Paddock School, I persuaded dad to allow me to go (I was only 8), don't even know who I went with, it wasn't dad, he would NEVER watch a girls game! Stood in the paddock, I thought it was the area for people from my school, I was very proud (Almoundbury and Heckmondwyke didn't have an area of the ground to themselves, they had to argue about who "owned" the Cowshed, (a scary place where the big boys played.) Looking at soccerbase it was probably Blackburn at home, I only say that because it was the only game in that season we lost. Football is all about losing isn't it? What got me hooked however was a school trip to Old Trafford the season after.
A school trip to an away game; those really were enlightened times.
Remember cheering the Town players coach into Old Trafford, 52 nine/ten year olds surrounded by bemused Manchester Neanderthals, and we drew the game, that's about it really, but that was the beginning of my life sentance.
And I don't want to be released!

My gran's 98 and her first game was in ( she thinks) 1919/20 season. She knows she was about 7 or 8 anyway but can't remember much about it, other than Town lost. Doesn't know who it was against. Well it was a while ago!! Beat that! ;D

7-0 victory over Lincoln United in the FA Cup, in the 1991/92 season. I was 18 months old, and don't remember a thing! I don't remember the exact game but I do still have images/memories of the Cowshed. I never got "hooked" as such, it's always been in my blood. This was my first game too. 1st Round FA Cup 1991-92. Beat Lincoln United 7-0 at Leeds Road. I was older than you at 10, but I still can't remember much from it. We were given free tickets at school.

Can't remember who we were playing, But it was the last season at Leeds Road & I was only 8, just remember the result been 1-1.
So could have been Port Vale, Stockport, Burnley, Bradford, Cambridge, Swansea, Bournmouth, Hartlepool.
I can also remember the opposition playing in yellow, so was probably Cambridge.

I think Glazzard was playing the last time she went!! Bit of a glory fan I reckon. When we're not winning titles and getting to cup finals she just didn't want to know! ;D

He then took my dad who then took me who... So it's all my grandad's bloody fault!

First match was Emley at Wembley (we all have to start somewhere)
First Town match was a couple of months later, away at Northampton, where we were living at the time. We couldn't get away tickets, so i had to zip up the tracksuit top to hide the yellow and black chequerboard. Chris Hutchings and Junior Bent scored. Third I can't remember.
CD Maskell from the spot according to Wiki

Not my first match, but I went to that one (late 80's/ealry 90's??)- a certain Keith Mason (ex Town keeper) was in goal for Colne Dynamoes who beat Emley 1-0 if I remember correctly. My ex-games teacher should have played for Emley but had a broken leg - but he went on the pitch in the warm up and tried to score with a header (he was on crutches!)

25/10/1991 Town 0 - 1 Stockport - Aged 6.
At least I never got my hopes up ;D
Can remember it very well, my Mum made us sit in the main stand (for safety!) but then she stopped going and me and my dad carried on for the rest of the season in Cowshed and Popular Stand. Can't remember much about the rest of that season apart from the Play off game against Peterborough. What I can remember is the awesome midfield combo of Peter Butler and Chrissy Marsden!

Funny thing was i was due to goto Bury away, but I couldn't as i was on some Easter camp thing or something. I remember asking my Dad what the score was. We lost 6-0. However he said he'd take me next season. Couldn't go as I was really ill. So I went the next...4-4
