With Clark now at Birmingham will he come calling for some of the Town Players if any thinking more along the lines of our captain who he got on with really well and Novak although not sure if there relationship took a dive before he was sacked, Like it did with many other players.

Amen ....................................Wait................................................could that be why he's no longer with us? Welcome to the failed managers club Lee, luckily most good managers have failure written somewhere in there CVs.

Lee Clarks aim was to get us out of League One. Did Lee Clark manage that? No. Therefore he failed. #FACT TESTICLES LC's aim was to manage in the Championship, Leicester turned him down. Brum have accepted him. So yes by some miracle he did manage that, therefore he succeeded # FACT

I was one of many who called for LC to go at the end because i think he lost it on so many levels before he was sacked, Having said that on reflection i think the departure of DF to Leicester city had more of a negative impact than LC dare admit to, Hence why he has added him again to his staff at Birmingham, We played some of the best football i have ever seen when LC, TM & DF were the staff at town, He did fail overall at Town because he did not get us promoted, However it will have been a lesson in management for him in a positive way, How many previous managers in recent years have either left Town or been sacked that have gone on to a big job such as Birmingham City, Steve Bruce is the last that moved onto the similar size club,So for me he aint a failure i wish him luck, Just not when we play them.

Aye, time to move on boys. Good luck Elsie, hope you get 3rd place behind us ;-)
As for DF going to Leicester and now, apparently, on his way to Brum with Clark. As I understand it DF left LC and team to buddy-up with his old mucker. Now that formation has gone south t'old Derek is a lucky boy for LC not holding any grudges.
In saying that let's not forget the football game is like that throughout the tiers. Not enough integrity and way too much bed-hopping (analogy, not literally).
Look internally boys and take heart from what we have. You know Grayson won't be here in 10 years time, even 5, neither will Snods or Miller. We will be tho as will Deano. Move on and enjoy the banter against Brum.
I for one will be applauding Elsie on his return given what he achieved here and the exposure he brought to our great club. Let's show some class and dignity boys.

Best of luck to him, can't say I'm bothered either way and when he comes back to Town will neither clap him or boo him
On the face of it though a risky appointment, i.e cheque book manager at a cash strapped club. Not obvious bed mates!
Ultimately this old arguement will be settled by results so it will be interesting to see how Brum this season under Clark

Attacking football? We're including his early days in this list of 'achievements' then and ignoring most of his time here then?

My only post on this. Despite inheriting some good players he will screw it up. A big bet that Brum fail this season awaits.

I've pretty much finished with trying to make any sense of what some folk write on here! ;D In this case I really don't see why there's so much animosity towards Lee C. Obviously after the way things turned out I can understand the bitter disappointment, especially after so much expectation and optimism plus the fact he had money to build the team in comparative terms, YES it was sickening, but deary me...what a set of mardarses! We were a big fish in a small pool then and I predict next season will be very different with teams expecting to beat us rather than fear us. I think League One was tough to get out of because we were seen as big spenders and that ironically, didn't help our cause. How many times did opposing fans say their team had played their best football against us? Now you either blame Lee C, for that or you realise we were there to be shot at by teams busting a gut to beat us. Given those circumstances, I think the unbeaten run was an incredible achievement and I for one loved singing 'we are unbeatable' at the time. Those of you who say you won't acknowledge Lee C's return to the Galpharm next season need to stop and think, the guy did his best and that's all you can ask for! We'll never know if he was capable of completing the task by getting us promoted but I just can't help thinking he would have! : : Either way both he and us are now in the Championship next season and I'd like to say, good luck to us both and well done Lee C for finding such a prestigious job! ;D

:appl: I will applaud him, thought he was a breath of fresh air when he first came, he is partly responsible for loads of new things at our club and the football ethos from the bottom up. lots of faults as we know but this appointment has also made this coming season even more tasty and interesting. good luck to him.

Well I've posted similar over the past couple of years and been totally pulled to pieces each time but I'm going to say it again for one last time. Managing is nothing specific to football, it is about getting the best performance out of the staff and resources at your disposal, with interaction being crucial, ergo Lee Clark will never make a successful manager as long as he'd got a hole in his egotistical and superiority complexed arse!

As for attacking Slaps - 3rd top scorers in both first two full seasons and only top 2 had scored more than us when he left. Attacking for me.

I fail to understand this logic that Grayson improved on Clark's record with that team Granted we were good in two of the three play off games - and should have won at Wembley, you can argue it was luck etc but there was no luck in us dominating the game. But quite simply - Clark's record with that team last season was superior to Grayson's. In black and white. Pretty simple! Clark: P35 / W16 / D15 / L4 Grayson: P19 / W8 / D6 / L5 Clark won higher % of games, lost less games in almost twice the matches and his team scored more a game. Not taking anything away from Grayson, absolutely not - we were well drilled, organised and marshalled for the play offs, excellent in the first leg and not far from in the final. We deserved to win and credit to him - But the way you make out he turned it around as though he suddenly improved our fortunes is almost laughable!

Congratulating him on bringing us 'attacking football' kind of implied some sort of creative, fast, tactically astute brand of offensive play, a bit like we had in the first half of his first full season.
Technically specialun, I suppose the tedious, huff and puff hoof-ball we had since that was also 'attacking', but as it bored the tits off me and failed to get us up Im not sure I could bring my self to congratulate him for it.

Some people appear to have bought so deeply into the belief that Clark was the man (possibly the only man) to get us up that they appear unable to grasp the reality of what happened in the aftermath of his sacking.
This is how religious cults start

This thread is hilarious.. Grayson has 3 promotions on his cv in under 10 years.. clark might have a million attributes but he failed to get us up with big budgets,.. thats the be all and the end all,,, dont give me percentages,, dont give me attacking football,, dont give me "vibrant up and coming manager" give me a promotion please,, though town under grayson were rarely better than under clark,, he did that,, promotion ,,, we are in the championship yeahhhh,, celebrate it and embrace it .... there are 3-4 people on this forum who need to give their heads a shake
