My local club Exeter have two players called up to the England under 20s matt Grimes left footed midfielder and Christine Pym keeper.
Wonder if ey are on our radar? Can't find the source but I did read somewhere last week that we are tracking him. Seems to have great potential breaking into Exeter's side at 18, recently trained with the England senior squad as well when Ben Foster was injured.

Without having to read through the whole thread; what's the story with Pyke/Coogans/Coughlin? They seem to be getting the goals for the u18s? Do they have real potential? Not seen any of them in the flesh, but Coughlan looks like a decent all round striker from what I've heard and the clips I've seen. Coogans is the lad signed from Aidrie two or three months back and he'd played first team in Scotland for them. Pyke has always been rated throughout the age groups. Hopefully at least one of them will make a longer-term impact on the first team in the coming two to three years. Potentially exciting times.

Doesn't that under21 team have rather more than the accepted number of over 21 players? More a reserve side.

Don't let Stead's 2 goals take the muck off what was a below average performance from him, although his second was a beauty - ball floated over the top from Wallace and Stead struck it on the volley into the far bottom corner.
Danny Ward seemed to be trying the hardest. He had about a million shots but I can't remember a single one hitting the target. He showed good strength and made some good runs, and played a few nice balls that would have been better had Paterson and/or Stead not fumbled them.
The rest all played well, we were definitely deserved winners. My MotM would probably be Dixon. Defensively sound and very dangerous attacking. He got the first 2 assists and was playing crosses and balls through all game. I wonder if he'd be better in the middle, behind the strikers... though Radi did a good job there today. Had a lot of possession and used it well.
Also, must mention Gobern. As bad as Stead. Maybe worse.

Doubt we'll see Gobern again. Billing will be picked ahead of him if we get a few injuries. Loan/sell him if poss

Needs a run of games to get going does Oscar, but he never gets them because his ankle joints are shot. Shame as he did have the potential to be decent. He'll end up at Birmingham with Lee Clark.

As a long time reader thought a trip to see Town's future in the bright lights of West London would be opportune time for a first post.
For the first time ever Town were the taller team against Brentford. Billing, Crooks & Gobern certainly looked the part.
Despite giving away a sloppy first goal (albeit to Ebanks-Blake). Town were the better team.
Sinnott looked steady at the back and two very good free kicks forced good saves.
The player who most impressed me though was Allinson. Surprised to see him offered a new contract but looked far more imposing than 12 months ago. Could be a prospect.
As for Crooks/Gobern/Carr. They all look to be marking time until leaving.

Could have been no complaints if they'd got a second goal and a point at the end but our keeper Allinson was superb throughout.
Joe Wright and Billing also excellent.
And yes, we look like we'd have hammered them at basketball too.

And yes, we look like we'd have hammered them at basketball too. Seems there has been a massive improvement in Allinson this season with a number of consistent displays and he seems to have grown in stature also (similar size and physique to AS) which must be the reason why he was recently offered a new contract. Surely the club must be looking at a loan to a skrill premier side or above now to further his development. On Joe Wright, good to see him getting back playing regularly again after his horrific injury a couple of years ago.

Seems there has been a massive improvement in Allinson this season. He impressed me and I'm notoriously (at least in this household) harsh on keepers. Amid all this talk on here at the moment about players being written off too early...Keepers IMO can't be treated the same as outfielders in that respect because they tend to develop later, Alex Smithies was an exception breaking through at 18/19 and although it does seem like Allinson has been around for a long time, he is still very very young for a goalkeeper. Same applies to Wilcysnki and Guthrie, as we may find they may take another 2/3 years to be serious challenges for a spot. A loan move (at a professional level) would tell us more about Allinson

Allinson looked awesome. The defending for that last Brentford attack (on the video on htafc.com) was Sunday league
Towns second goal was a very nice move also
