Town are playing a friendly on Monday 7:30 away at Ossett United. Will be a mix of reserves and academy. £5 entry, £2 a pint. Get down and give the lads some support if you're local.

Read my post again and digest it this time. What about the youth cup can’t even beat Peterborough at the same age level the direction of the club from top to bottom is wrong And Burnley were knocked out by Wigan, so what? You don't appear to realise, our players are NOT Premier League players any more than Burnleys. Youngsters starting out, i'll say again wait and see how they develop individually. Kian Harratt has scored 22 goals so far this season and who knows what he may achieve, and before you say it, he has a long way to go before we see him at first team level, if at all.

The game wants to stop the international scholar route...moving forwards it won’t be possible to offer contracts to overseas youths (and bend the rules to create “homegrown” players as a result)...all to support the ongoing drive to limit the number of overseas players allowed in EPL squads which is expected to drop down a max of 13 in the 25.

When we were winning the leagues we were in, how many 1st teamers did we uncover?
Youth football isn't about the results. You're better off having 1 or 2 stars in a bad team than making a really good team and getting no one out of it.

A lot of happy clappers on here. Today a town youngster player for England under 15s apart from course he’s no longer our player because we scrapped our academy set up.

Utter rubbish, the team you're saying were more competitive last year were in the main playing their own age group. lack of points is more to do with playing against older players with at least a full years development advantage. That means it is now stretching them therefore more competitive for them. I don't expect you to understand that seeing as your priority is points on the board and not individual development. PS. ...While you're disrespecting lower league academy's, it's not where you start it's where you finish. This guy came through at Oxford Utd. Couldn't want a better man in charge of a youths development.

Jordan Williams played for England at Youth Level......Not even getting a game at Barnsley now. Jordi Hiwula played for England at U18 & U19.....He's currently got 3 goals for Coventry in League 1 Kachunga played for Germany at U'19 & U21's and VLP played for Holland at U'17, 19 & 21, winning 36 caps at Youth level. Kachunga can't even get in a team who strikers still haven't scored and VLP can't even get in the squad. It's fantastic for that young lad that he's representing England at Under 15 level, but means absolutely nothing in relation to whether he will play professional football at the highest level

Is it just me or what? When did the word 'have' become 'of'? It doesn't even mean the same thing, at what point did this happen? There are so many posters that use it, possibly educated grown men and women. My 9 year old daughter said it a few weeks ago and i sat down with her for half an hour to go through the whole process of what 'have' and 'of' means. She will now use the 2 words correctly. This has surely only happened in the last few years. It is truly embarrassing for anyone above the age of 6 to confuse the 2 words. I just don't understand it at all.

It's fantastic for that young lad that he's representing England at Under 15 level, but means absolutely nothing in relation to whether he will play professional football at the highest level Kachunga & Van La Parra should of both started Saturday so I don’t understand your point The point was that just because someone is playing International Football at Youth Level does not mean that he will ultimately be good enough to play Premier League football. Some will, some wont. Likewise a lad who never plays International football at youth level, could develop into a premier league player. Ian Wright, Glen Murray, Jonathan Hogg. So at this very moment we've no idea if the 15 year old you are referencing will be ultimately good enough for premier league football, just like we currently have no idea if any of the lads in Town Youth Structures will be good enough. Only time will tell. Town have had their academy structure for a long time and it's not produced players good enough to be successful at Championship or Premier league level. So they decided to make a change and try something different. From the name you are currently using, you clearly want Town to make a change and try something different where the manager of the first team is concerned, so why are you not prepared to wait and see if the change at the academy will be successful or not? As a foot note. Demeaco Duhaney is/was an England Youth International in the Man City Academy.....He's now at Town.....Maybe the 15 year old you reference might find his way to Town later in his Youth Career. I am sure the club are aware of the lad and monitoring his progress. Just like they did with Jake Barrett.

There were 7 or 8 second year scholars who started against Peterborough-so we cant use the excuse that we fielded a younger team. Mason O’Malley, Jordan Eli ,, Ben Jackson; Scott High Micah Obiero , Matty Daly , Aaron Rowe; Kit Elliott?
Playing for 60 odd minutes against 10 men.from a cat 3 first division side and lost.
Some decent players in there -Matty Daly/Ben Jackson-Scott High-and Kian Harratt -who came on in second half and probably should have started-3 of the 4 came from the old academy set up.
For the new set up to work needs to be financed properly by the board so the academy can buy players at 16/17 with similar potential to Billing.
Lost 5-1 on saturday to an Oldham side which had two second years, seven first years and two U16s starting the game with two U15s on the bench.

It's because of the dialect way of saying should've, and similar phrases, being spoken then being written as sounded. Simple, lazy contraction.

I work with a couple of Bradford fans, and they are raving about Lewis O'Brian, saying he's player of the season by a mile and has so much talent. I'm seeing the same on twitter as well. Hopefully we have a real talent coming through.

Lets hope he's good enough to challenge for a first team spot and not loaned out to some non league club.
